I was on ozempic for 7 months. When I tell you I was the sickest I'd ever been in my life! Nausea, acid reflux, extreme fatigue, projectile vomiting. I found that merely changing to eating routine to only 2 meals each day TOTALLY suppressed my appetite. Now I only get an occasional hunger pang (about once every month or 2) that lasts for about 10 minutes. I have a small "brunch" at around 10am and then dinner at 6 or 7pm. My guess is that after a while, this routine teaches your body and mind to not expect food anytime soon. Then they just happily fall in line with that expectation. And I also found that whether or not I drink coffee or tea in the morning right after I get up has no effect on this. Give it a try and see if it works similarly for you. Also, I normally do my daily, strenuous exercise routine just before dinner, with absolutely no lack of energy due not having eaten anything for many hours. And even on the days when I need to do my exercises earlier in the day (due to some type of engagement), I don't notice any difference in my energy level while exercising, nor the creation of any extra hunger pangs before I have dinner at my normal time. And if I have lunch engagement that causes me to postpone my morning meal until hours later, I still have no hunger pangs. So it appears that eating just twice each day sets your body up for maximum eating flexibility.

I find the best appetite SATISFIER is ordinary room temperature tap water. 1.5 pints in the morning, and 2 pints pm. I have to FORCE myself to get my 2 litres. And I find that coffee, tea, or anything with any TASTE to it is an appetite STIMULANT.
I am strongly consdiering replacing coffee with bone broth. Our ancestors drank that long before they started drinking coffee, and it has its fair share of benefits similar to coffee without the caffeine.
It tastes like dirty dish water. Make homemade chicken broth, with the bones in ( you can crack the bones if you just like a little dish water flavor).
I suggest Matcha, it has enough caffeine, but also has l-theanine, it gives energy and suppresses the appetite, but also keeps you calm and not jittery like coffee, burns fat and has a lot of antioxidants. I was afraid of the caffeine in it, because I have anxiety and coffee makes me nervous, but I feel great with Matcha and I get hungry a lot later in the day.
I buy himalayan pink salt grains, not the fine ground. Both contain a lot of minerals. I use the salt grains in a grinder for finer uses. Or you could put some of the ground salt in water or coffee. I think Celtic salt is good, too, but have not tried it.
Black coffee definitely did solve the ravenous appetite problem I’d have, but no matter how early i used to drink it, it also created sleepiness nights, headaches and eventually lumps in my breast (according to my gynecologist, caffeine can stimulate lumps in breast tissue) so I couldn’t win the appetite suppressant affects of it for losing the quality of other areas in my life but by far, it was the only non RX drug that worked great for me.
I used to have painful breast lumps. Then I switched to decaf coffee and started taking vitamin E three times a week until the problem went away. Now I take E only once a week. Evening Primrose Oil is also good for breast pain. Eliminate from your diet anything that contains soy. The effects of soy stay in your system for about 3 months after you stop eating foods that contain soy.

Coffee, I been drinking coffee with breakfast for over 40 years. I find drinking coffee while fasting makes me extremely hungry. I guess I associate coffee with bacon ,eggs and toast.
For coffee to be effective do you have to be a person who responds to caffeine? I don't get much of an energy boost from caffeine, I burn through it quickly, although I get a diuretic effect, so do you think it still work for me?

Hi Annette, I've been following your videos over the last few years as I get my head around making myself well. I am an RN in Australia. In the last year, a public health dietitian suggested I go on Oempic, I flatly refused to his face and told him he was negligent in suggesting it to desperate people who need practical help not pharmacology. I have a very small RUclips channel Jules Cruise Companion. I have been feeling the effects that my cruising lifestyle has had on my health and knew I had to get fitter. I have been Keto Carnivore on and off now for a year or so. I have been vlogging my thoughts on my cruise RUclips channel as they are cruise-adjacent. Watching all the carnivore channels inspired me to move the Keto Carnivore vlogs to their own channel which I have called 'Carnviore Cruiser' which I made live today. Thanx Stay Safe Jules
Can I put coconut oil in my coffee and still continue the fast? I use about two tablespoons per pot. I drink about three cups in the morning, about half the pot.

I started smoking cigars with my morning coffee. Huge appetite suppressant. I eat a really small small snack around noon and then when I eat dinner I’m not very hungry so my portion size is less. Been eating significantly less calories every day. Good stuff
This is great information but I hate to be the opposite of what a medical professional tells anyone but I think everyone's body is different. I drink coffee every single day in the morning with my creamer I have cut out adding sugar but my creamer is sweet. It's suppresses my appetite and I have to force myself to eat in the afternoon and I mean late afternoon. I'm teaching myself to to eat something with a lot of protein in it in the mornings, but I swear I do not want to eat because the coffee has me feeling full until the afternoon. I don't like black coffee but I am a testament that coffee with creamer will definitely suppress your appetite also.
Coffee is definitely an appetite suppressant, but also raises cortisol so if you drink it, take a small amount. It’s also raises your blood sugar. Also, I’ve found that the fats in milk help to keep blood sugar stable. I would go for MCT oil or even fibrous sources like 2 tbsp of chia seeds as well as apple cider vinegar. I’m surprised ACV wasn’t mentioned.
I add EVCO in a small pot heat it juuust to make it liquid add 2 cups of Cacao powder (not sweet at all) with some allulose then mix well put in a silicone ice tray then freeze over night its a cold sweet treat with MCTs. When I drink coffee its always black
I don't drink coffee, it's way too bitter so I use Jet Alert that's just caffeine you can buy at Walmart in 100mg or 200mg tablets, (for those that don't know). Stay alert works too. Same place, same thing. I found Zantrex works the best plus it definitely gets the lead out of my backside. I have MS so fatigue is a huge thing I fight. Zantrex changes everything for me personally. Found at Walmart. I don't use it everyday just when I can't function. Stops cravings. Not sure side effects Thanks for these tips.
I found that adding a pinch - just a pinch of baking soda in coffee takes away the bitterness. Strange as it sounds. I also add ginger and tumerac (sp?) too.
Quick question. The salt rocks. Do you just put a rock in your mouth and suck it as an appetite suppressant? Hmmm. By the way Dr. Boz, I have read all your books, am following your guidelines, have achieved solid ketone levels, and consistently lost weight. Thank you!
What if a type 2 diabetic is on insulin to keep their blood sugar low? Since insulin ?contradicts? ketone production (to what degree?), would MCT oil help still get some ketone production going? OR is the only solution to build muscle mass, which ?will? increase glucose absorption? OR... other ideas?
Coffee , especially if I have too much makes me hungry does NOT suppress my hunger , however If I have a glass of good electrolytes like ELMT or ReLyte by Redmonds real salt it definitely suppresses my appetite , make hunger cravings go away..
You talk about salt and Dr. Fung says you'll live longer if you take more salt, but I read it is bad for my arthritis. Will the Keto diet help my arthritis? Shawn says red meat will help my arthritis but studies I read say no red meat for arthritis. Who do I believe or just stay with a Keto life?
I like potassium citrate. I use it primarily for my pulsatile tinnitus; makes it much quieter. Interestingly, potassium does not appear to affect my blood pressure, so it is some other aspect of it which works for me. Cream of tart worked but tastes a bit nasty and doesn't dissolve particularly well in water. Potassium chloride can be used occasionally, but not frequently long term; it has been seen to interfere with B12 absorption.
I am on Ozempic because I am diabetic. So are these solutions going to help my Diabetes? Also, Ozempic doesnt work for everyone. I have been on it since May 1 and I havent lost a pound.
Dr Boz,please help me. I am 76 and i am confused about doctor John Mcdougal who says starch is the way to go.He also said that his clients had a drop blood sugar. How is that possible?
John McDougal appears to have been going senile for many years. It is not just what you are eating, but whether you are absorbing it, getting nutrients, what your gut is doing. It might be excreting more, without absorbing the starch. Starchy foods tend to be lower in nutrients. I'm not sure what a drop in blood sugar might actually mean without seeing some examples. There are many reasons blood sugar might drop. It might be that his clients were previously eating higher sugar diets, so changing to high starch did at least have a beneficial effect on blood sugar. Ultimately it is still sugar.
They say to not eat oxidizing oils and the only bottle of mct I bought seemed oxidized so I tossed it. I'm not an mct fan. Why can't you put creamer in your coffee? Mine is just palm oil and sugar, who cares. At least it's not seed oil which is really the problem no one's talking about. I hate when people say "don't do this" but they don't tell you why.
So would the mct oil be good to take before bed? This is the time we all naturally "fast." It seems if taken at bedtime, and if it decreases appetite, it would help you fast until 11 a.m. or so.
@sylvia .. try it as MCT oil can make one go the loo for a bowel movement so maybe you don’t want this in the night .. I take it of a morning.. I don’t do caffeine as my body doesn’t like it so I add it to a hot cocoa with no milk or sweetener..
I'm 65 and I just found this channel and I'm thinking about doing the Keto diet. Does anyone here know if the artery drinks found online (garlic, honey, olive oil, black pepper, cayenne pepper etc...) are beneficial? Thanks! Great information Dr. Boz!
Black coffee? I think you have to be born liking it. I started drinking coffee when I was 67, diluting my morning protein drink so I could have two mugs instead of one. Can't get past that. So, OZEMPIC is my next step. My cousin has had very good success with it.
I dont recommend keto, it wrecks your electrolytes, and messes up your hormones. especially thyroid. you need some good carbs (veg mostly) to burn calories or else your metabolism will tank, and at your age, its already toast. get hormone replacement first off, once you feel real good, then start weight training or a walking routine, and eat what you want or like, but less of it, and less often. I lost a lbs or 2 a week once i went on HRT. For men they lose most of their testosterone around age 50, so for you are at an all time low. get some, from a good doc, and restart your life!
You might want to check out videos by Dr Ken Berry, Dr Eric Berg, Dr Sten Erickson and Dr Becky Gillaspy among others. They give you the information about keto and low carb and how and why it works. There is nothing wrong with modifying for your personal preference.

I've also found both green & black teas, spicy things like cayenne & peppers, drinking lemon water & eating ENOUGH HEALTHY FATS & PROTEINS, chromium piccolinate (mineral) & gynemma sylvestre (natural herb helps balance & take away SUGAR cravings)
to be helpful too. ❤🍋
Hey Dr Boz is there a down side to using Berberine . I love coffee in the am, but I drink iced green tea through the day .

I am strongly consdiering replacing coffee with bone broth. Our ancestors drank that long before they started drinking coffee, and it has its fair share of benefits similar to coffee without the caffeine.
It tastes like dirty dish water. Make homemade
chicken broth, with the bones in ( you can crack the bones if you just like a little dish water flavor).
Our ancestors also ate the bones of the animal which is high in nutrients. I found if you pressure cook bones long enough, it turns them to mush.
Oh really?
Oh, really? My ancestors drank water.
What are the salt rocks that you mentioned, and how do you know how much to take and how do you take it? Thank you!🎉
I buy himalayan pink salt grains, not the fine ground.
Coffee is soo bad for the body
@@IAmPhasion BS
I used to have painful breast lumps. Then I switched to decaf coffee and started taking vitamin E three times a week until the problem went away.
Now I take E only once a week.
Evening Primrose Oil is also good for breast pain. Eliminate from your diet anything that contains soy. The effects of soy stay in your system for about 3 months after you stop eating foods that contain soy.

Coffee/caffeine makes my blood sugar drop and increases my appetite.
1 tea spoon of extra virgin olive oil, squeeze a half a lemon, sprinkle of cayenne pepper, and drizzle of real honey, mix it well in a small cup drink right before each meal. This works
Honey is a sugar and not recommended
When you say real honey are you referring to raw honey that is found in a health food store or can I buy it at a regular grocery store?

For coffee to be effective do you have to be a person who responds to caffeine? I don't get much of an energy boost from caffeine, I burn through it quickly, although I get a diuretic effect, so do you think it still work for me?
Stay off the chemicals and try portion control with moderate exercise for lasting healthier results
I’m not interested in Ozempic due to all the side effects but let’s be real, if this stuff worked as well as ozempic, nobody would get on it. People who have failed to lose weight for years already tried all this.
Does the bulletproof coffee (coffee with butter) work as well as black coffee?
MCT is coconut.
Coconut does things to my gut. Unpleasant things. MCT does the same.

I don't like coffee. I never get past 0.4. I do OMAD and very seldom get hungry anymore
If I only add pure ground vanilla powder to my coffee will it negate the suppressing effect of coffee?
Well, I do drink coffee, but I'd advise being careful with it. I'm addicted, can't even operate without it.
Can I put coconut oil in my coffee and still continue the fast? I use about two tablespoons per pot. I drink about three cups in the morning, about half the pot.
Coconut oil is very fattening!
Thanks, Dr. Boz!

I started smoking cigars with my morning coffee. Huge appetite suppressant. I eat a really small small snack around noon and then when I eat dinner I’m not very hungry so my portion size is less. Been eating significantly less calories every day. Good stuff
well i am not going to smoke cigars--they will make me vomit and they stink to high hell!
Switch to heavy cream instead of corn syrup solids, oils, and sugar.
Does coffee leach bones of calcium?
I add EVCO in a small pot heat it juuust to make it liquid add 2 cups of Cacao powder (not sweet at all) with some allulose then mix well put in a silicone ice tray then freeze over night its a cold sweet treat with MCTs. When I drink coffee its always black
Doctor, as for coffee, is brewed coffee any better or worse than instant coffee? I drink both, just depends on how much time I have to make it.
What if you don’t drink coffee ?what else will work
electrolyte packets work well too. LMNT in water.
Yep! I agree.
Does anyone know if it's safe to use a little stevia or allulose in black tea and coffee, or will it cause a disruption in your fast??
For appetite suppressant for an endurance athlete… Would it be best to put MCT oil in your black coffee?
I drink coffee with thick cream ( 35% fat)2tblsps. in it, no hunger afterwards.
Me, too. 2 cups coffee, 2 tbsp cream and a tiny scoop of Stevia. Not hungry for hours. ☕
MCT oil did not suppress my appetite at all. Agree the others were very helpful altho have not tried salt rock. I will be trying it next.
Not sure side effects
Thanks for these tips.
I found that adding a pinch - just a pinch of baking soda in coffee takes away the bitterness. Strange as it sounds. I also add ginger and tumerac (sp?) too.
Is Mct oil still good for someone thats had their gallbladder removed ?
Quick question. The salt rocks. Do you just put a rock in your mouth and suck it as an appetite suppressant? Hmmm. By the way Dr. Boz, I have read all your books, am following your guidelines, have achieved solid ketone levels, and consistently lost weight. Thank you!
What's a salt rock? Do they sell them at the supermarket? I've never seen them.
Wouldn't black coffee have a negative effect on people with Hoshimoto's?
You talk about salt and Dr. Fung says you'll live longer if you take more salt, but I read it is bad for my arthritis. Will the Keto diet help my arthritis? Shawn says red meat will help my arthritis but studies I read say no red meat for arthritis. Who do I believe or just stay with a Keto life?
How much Salt Rocks to take per time within a day?
Coffee doesn't curb my appetite. Is it because I'm drinking decaffeinated?
I tried LMNT but could not tolerate the high salt content.
Have you considered cream of tartar for potassium?
Not the best but usable. Better are potassium citrate and potassium bicarbonate!
You’re saying to take the MCT oil when you start your fast? I fast from around 6 pm until 11am. Does that mean I take the MCT at 6 pm? Thank you

This salt rock, is that the same as rock salt? If not, where do you find this salt rock?
What about apple cider vinegar?
I'm 65 and I just found this channel and I'm thinking about doing the Keto diet. Does anyone here know if the artery drinks found online (garlic, honey, olive oil, black pepper, cayenne pepper etc...) are beneficial? Thanks! Great information Dr. Boz!
Honey definitely doesn't fit in a keto diet. Way too many carbs
