    HI Ralf, very nice footage. I foil like you do, looks like same style. Want to change my peak for hybrids because of relaunch. (don't want to swim in cold water)
    What windrange can you get with 7,5 and 5,5 ? I'm 86 kg, 1200cm² wave wing. Isn't there too much overlap between both sizes ?

    • @RalfBoltendal
      @RalfBoltendal  Год назад +2

      I use The 7,5 from 15 -25knots depending on my frontwing I can ride with around 10 knots but your not gonna have fun I can hold the 5,5 till 30knots on my 900 cm2 frontwing the advantage of the hybrid in waveriding really is the performance in somewhat stronger winds with better high end better depower and upwind then the peak. The peak has more power and low end that’s why I still have the 11 peak on a big bar and I have had magical sessions in Around 12 knots of wind riding super glassy swell.

    Is my impression correct that that badboy drifts super duper well? Also, is that hvide sande nord😉?

      @RalfBoltendal  Год назад +1

      Niko it drifts like no other kite om The market, giving an experience comparable to winging. But then with better low end

    Hi nice video. I am 80 kg and I am in doubt about the Hybrid size for me. Wind in my hometown is 10-20knots, I have two large wing foils (1000-1225cm2) and a big board (39L). Which Hybrid do you recommend (5.5 or 7.5)?

    • @RalfBoltendal

      I recommend getting both

      Ok The 7,5 m then because The high end is quote good I van rode it comfortably at 20-25 knots with The hydrofoil without using depower

    Hi nice vid! Exactly what I was looking for. What would be the low end in terms of wind range with the 7.5 m2 for the type of session (small waves) you were rinding in? 8 kts? 10 kts? Thanks for letting me know…

    • @RalfBoltendal
      @RalfBoltendal  Год назад

      In this movie the wind was about 15 to 20 knots I was on the 7,5 and my girlfriend on the 5,5. 10 knots is not gonna do it for you I’m afraid for that reason I still have a peak 11 m2

      @@RalfBoltendal hi Ralf, thnaks for your answer. Appreciated. I thought a 7.5 m2 would get me foiling in 10 kts… thanks for the feedback.

      Also have the 7.5. Ride it comfortably under 10 knots, but the key is a wingfoil board with 95 liters and a 1500 front wing. Unbeatable low end. Greetings

    Once bitten by a dog you never forget, don't get too far that you cannot swim back with these kites, they are useless for self rescue, but pack really nice for traveling w 3 kites

    • @SankaFur
      @SankaFur 2 года назад

      I don’t think you get the whole concept of this new kite. It’s half filled with air, relaunching is possible. Check this : ruclips.net/video/nIR35kHvAxE/видео.html 🤙🏻

    • @RalfBoltendal
      @RalfBoltendal  2 года назад +4

      When hydrofoiling you always have a hydrofoil as a floatation device, I did self rescues where I had to swim for more than half an hour. Always stay calm don't panic and never give up.

  • @KiteJolt

    Nice! How is the drift compared to Peaks?

    • @RalfBoltendal
      @RalfBoltendal  2 года назад

      The drift is similar to the peak with the difference that the hybrid has more bar pressure so you feel better where the kite is as it’s drifting along and in depowered state the hybrid steers better then the peak. For hydrofoil wave riding I definitely recommend the hybrid. For shear Uber low wind riding on a lake the peak is better.

  • @strekke1986
    @strekke1986 2 года назад

    Why didn't you drop it in the waves to test the relaunch ability after getting washed by a wave? Love my peaks and ride the same way you guys do in this vid (10s handsfree rides) but if I drop my Peak in a wave it's game over. Would be good to see if this new hybrid handles this situation any better.

    • @RalfBoltendal
      @RalfBoltendal  2 года назад +1

      I didn’t drop t in the waves because most of the time when a wave washes the kite wether it’s a tube or foil it can break. I advise you to not drop it in the waves, but if you do relaunch it as quickly as possible.

      @@RalfBoltendal The hybrid should be better in this respect...this is what we are looking for. My 2.5m peak did not recover after floating in a small wave. There might be people who are able to do this...but it is not easy.
