I was born in Idaho Falls, and it is not the same. We thought the city was getting big when Edwards Theatre moved in years ago. It has been a real estate dream for people to become millionaires buying property within hours of posting online, and sky rocketing the cost of living here. It will be the New Boise in 5 to 10 years. I'll most likely leave Idaho once I retire and let the out of state folks and realtors have at it. It can be the next LA. Have fun with the taxes 😊
I would reconsider if you are thinking about cost of living. I moved here from Colorado and honestly overall the cost of living is not that much lower considering the wages. Same problem Boise has. It is cheaper here, but not by much. It just depends on what you are looking for.
That’s cause all the transplants with their huge wages keep jacking up the prices! 5th generation Idaho falls native and I can’t even afford a home in my own hometown… it’s not “exciting” it’s frustrating as shit!!
As a transplant I took a 50% cut in pay, so I am not sure who is bringing huge wages here. I do not think the wages match the cost of living here. @@jadewalker1916
Wow 1890 - 1920. These were the end of the Golden Western Frontier days. I'm really interested to learn more about the establishment, history and story of Idaho Falls. Very cool!
Which one of the surrounding towns that were mentioned would anyone recomment to move to? Im looking for more of a country landscape and areas to be more in nature, that isn't ridiculously priced! Thanks a bunch 🙏
The cost of living has doubled in 4 years. There are way too many people here now. I just finished HVAC trade school and I want to start my new career in a place I can afford to raise a family.
Wow. And not in a good way. I lived there in the ‘90s, did they find a gold mine or something? The cost of living there is higher than Virginia out side of DC.
Yep, all of Idaho has gone up in price. Just like most of the country. It is a shock sometimes how much prices have gone up... but I see this happening in almost every state.
Good luck when that mortgage bubble bursts, and Melaleuca and the potato factories and the fertilizer places all decide its time to do layoffs in order to pay shareholders like they’ve done in years past. Hope the wages from INEL can keep you guys afloat for another decade again.
I grew up in Idaho Falls. I spent my first 40 years there until I took a job in northern Idaho. Though there are many great things about the area, I would never move back to Idaho Falls itself. The weather is awful and the religious environment can be nothing short of oppressive.
I like your content….but you‘ll find that your videos that are around 10-13 minutes will get the most views. Make these 30 minute videos a series and release three videos It appears like you are producing more content and it gives you time off for your hard work in doing a 30 minute edit.
I think there is room for any company that is able to outperform another company. If I were you I'd consider reaching out to some builders and see how things are going... or remodelers doing work. Depending on what kind of work you do... I'd be curious for you to reach out to other industry folk.
Can you please share what it is about the influence that turns you off? We're looking at IF as an option for retirement in a few years. We're not Mormon. Just wondering if it's devout religion in general you don't care for (which is your right), or if there are things specific to what goes on in IF. Thanks for the info!
@@AllThingsWagner Personally, as someone who didn’t grow up religious, and to some extent had an aversion to religious people, I grew up around Mormons in Colorado and Utah and I always enjoyed them. They’re very friendly, they didn’t push their religion on me beyond perhaps asking about my beliefs. Really welcoming and friendly people, good neighbors to have in a bad situation too. They’re prepared for anything.
You forgot to mention ice fog season from November to April, and sometimes May. And the stretches of negative zero degree temps too. And the regular storms that can bring feet of snow. If you're lucky ya might get 6 months of livable outdoor weather. And its dark at the same time so Its like living on a cold wet grave for 6 months of the year. And don't miss the brand new sterile, soulless, mind numbing strip malls and subdivisions of crap built "houses' you can WAAAAAY overpay for. I call them "single family residential mental institutions". Because you have to be "mental" to want to live there. And especially pay to live there. Watch the movie Stepford Wives to get a feel for the people. I think they had this place in mind when they made that movie.
Can ya'll do one of Pocatello? I'd love to know all pros and cons to Pocatello and the scenery

Unless you have a big chunk of $ for a house housing is just not affordable.
Don’t move here if you’re in the construction industry. Work is seasonal in the winter most guys go on unemployment.
Thanks for the insight
