wow, walls of incredible things! throw in a couch and a coffee pot and i would never leave! and that pin matrix... makes me want to play battleship. haha
Awesome store! I wish the stores around me would repair my synthesizers. It's getting really hard to find a repair shop in the Seattle area. Next time I visit my father in Texas I'm going to have to stop by this store. :) It looks great! Thanks for making the video! I appreciate it. Take care, Sam.
Hey Sam, thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the tour! What types of stores are in the Seattle area for synths? You should definitely stop by Switched On next time you're in Texas, it's worth the flight! :)
I bought my Juno 106 there. Great customer service. Planning on buying another vintage synth as I save up this year. Haven't decided which one though, what would you buy?
synth4ever understand completely I would be having gas for those classic synthesizers myself. By the way I see that you subscribe to my channel. I am honored more than you know. I've been watching your stuff for a long time now, glad to have you aboard.
Thanks, yes I did subscribe and thanks for your ongoing support! You have some great talent as well, keep up the synth passion and ambient creativity! :)
It must be really cool to visit somewhere where love of synths is so great. If there is one place I'd like to take a tour of someday it's the Fender Guitar Factory in Corona, California. BTW have ya seen my new video yet?
Yea, it was fantastic to visit. The love for synths and synthesis is huge, and it's such a unique shop in the region. The Fender factory would be awesome to visit as well, maybe you can make it happen someday on a driving route? :) I did check out your video and left ya a comment -- nice work!
I live in Austin and go frequently. The world wide demand has actually delayed local response times on service etc. My Oberheim DMX took 8 months to repair. Uber lame. I now use another tech. Super bummer! Also who cares about the liberation show us the Oberheim OBX :). My dream synth and I have an OBXA. That OBX synth sold in less then two weeks. I should have been quicker.
Yes, the OB-X was fantastic indeed! Not to worry as I actually recorded some audio/video with it specifically, so it will be featured in its own demo. OB-Xa also has a beautiful sound, would love to own either someday.
I've used Switched On for a few repairs. They're great people, but I don't like that they do not give you a repair estimate, they just fix it and surprise you with a huge bill. And their turnaround time is a little slow. No good synth techs here in Dallas anymore. Fortunately, all my gear is mostly working at the moment.
Do not ever take your gear here. They will overcharge you without giving you a clue as to what they are doing. I brought in a synth for repair and the owner, John French, tried to get me to sell it via consignment so he could make a fat commission. He hounded me about this and suggested selling it for parts at one point. He was impossible to reach and never returns messages. When I got the synth back after 5 months of stalling me, they had the outputs wired completely backwards! Then he tried to convince me that maybe it was “audience perspective left-right.” WTF? It took another week to get that fixed and I ended up spending thousands more than I expected to. The worst repair experience of my life. These guys are just here for your money, as the treated me like garbage.
;-) When I wrote my comment I wrote but then deleted a reference to that dangerous syndrome. To use the abbreviation in a sentence and avoiding ambiguity is rather tricky! Thanks for making and uploading this video, wish there were more shops like these.
Just picked up my first synth there. Super cool ppl I must say.
Awesome! I agree, great shop.. enjoy your synth!
Excellent. This place will certainly be on my to do list the next time I'm down in Austin!
It's well worth the trip!
Loved this video. What a cool store. Loved their rack. And saw a few things in there I had many moons ago.
Awesome... what synths did you used to own that are there now?
Nice store, thanks for sharing.
Thanks, it's a great shop.
Great tour!! Some lovely synths here.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed. Definitely lots of great synths there!
Amazing equipment... almost like "time travel", with some of those classic/vintage boards. Thanx for sharing!!
Totally... there was a lot of vintage stuff I'd never seen before, and tons of classics. Thanks for watching!
wow, walls of incredible things! throw in a couch and a coffee pot and i would never leave! and that pin matrix... makes me want to play battleship. haha
This is the place to Be !!
What a great video, I'd be in heaven having a look around that shop better still working in it, repairs etc. Brilliant, thanks for sharing :-)
It was quite overwhelming actually, there is just so much stuff to take in. A bit of an overload on the senses, lol. :)

From Austin, I need to visit here
Definitely. If I lived in Austin I'd visit on a regular basis!
I have been here a few times. Also had these guys work on my Jupiter 8 and Jupiter 6.
It's definitely a magical place. You have a great channel and are lucky to own such magnificent machines. :)

Hi Matthias thanks for your comment, glad you liked the video!
I bought my Juno 106 there. Great customer service. Planning on buying another vintage synth as I save up this year. Haven't decided which one though, what would you buy?
Agreed, fantastic store. I would've bought the Oberheim OB-X but it was out of my price range and sold 2 weeks later.
The paradise
Indeed, it is heavenly!
I want it. The store ... All of it lol
There is so much GAS-inducing gear here it was hard to keep self control. :)

dream !
every pan of the camera reveals more amazing synths! For some reason the keyboardless synthacon really rustles my jimmies
There's lots to discover there! And that Synthacon is totally insane and rare... wish I could afford it lol.
It must be really cool to visit somewhere where love of synths is so great. If there is one place I'd like to take a tour of someday it's the Fender Guitar Factory in Corona, California. BTW have ya seen my new video yet?

Like you, I am also an OB-Xa owner, and I still want an OBX! Nothing else comes close to these beasts.
Yes, the OB-X was fantastic indeed! Not to worry as I actually recorded some audio/video with it specifically, so it will be featured in its own demo. OB-Xa also has a beautiful sound, would love to own either someday.

I should imagine that they get to acquire quite a bit of equipment this way.

This place sucks now. The original owner left.
Just went to their web page.....a hole lot of nothing!
Better not check out their website, road to ruin looming!
GAS incoming!
