There are a number of reasons why a Sanction can be applied, the reasons for a country sanction is different to an entity or individual one. for example,... - Country Sanction could be in line with whats currently happening Ukraine with Russia so the UN, OFAC may impose further sanctions on Russia - Entity sanctions could be a financial institution doing business in a jurisdiction (e.g. Iran) when they dont have a license or they are in breach of the license they have from their regulatory body - Individual sanctions could be someone who is known to have committed terrorist attacks or crimes which are considered severe such as drug trafficking. the sanction individuals in some cases are travel bans or having their assets frozen. i hope the above helps. From Financial institution point of view If a country is Sanctioned by the US and not EU or UN is it illegal to send money in Euros? Example sending money to Cuba. Thanks 🙏
thanks for the comment, it all depends on the jurisdiction of the financial institute. they may not be under the OFAC jurisdiction. although that would be hard as most reputable financial institutions would follow OFAC so they would still be in breach. thanks for the question.

@Koko ISIS Thank you for the comment, if the swift payment sanction is to be included then yes a lot of their money coming in and out through the financial/banking system will be stopped. all our prays are indeed with everyone in Ukraine and directly impacted.
Personally I strongly feel that we should lift sanctions on Russia due to I think trying to pursue peace with Russia is better than the endless saber rattling.

The organizations who have the power to impose sanctions like the UN are criminal. They usually impose sanctions under the guise of a benevolent reason while really attempting to control a country or organization that will not do their bidding. Russia does not want to attack Ukraine like the mainstream media would have one believe. The UN and other globalist organizations want to cover up evidence of corruption in Ukraine. They will make it seem as if Ukraine was attacked by Russia, but it was really the UN. Everything is not always what is reported.
