I will never forget the morning I learned of Lefteye passing away. I was in the 7th grade. Just woke up. My mom, siblings and I was living w my grandmother at the time. We had just woke up after our mom woke us up to get ready for school. I went to my grandmother's room to get the iron I believe cause I had to iron my clothes for school and when I went in her room she was already up (my grandma has ALWAYS woke up super early) she was watching the news and as I was getting the iron she asked, "What is that girl name that's in that group that y'all always watch on tv. The one that burned her boyfriend house down".I said, "Lisa Lopes?" I remember specifically in that moment I didn't call her "Lefteye". She said, "Yea her. She got killed last night".. I had to go tell my mom and siblings ..my siblings and I was almost late for school bc we was invested in the tv instead of getting ready for school. We wanted to see if it was true bc we thought my grandma had her mixed up with someone else..and all we could think (my siblings and I) was "But Aaliyah JUST died tho". It was a sad day
He was horrible. He made her issues worst if anything. She wasn’t an angel in that relationship but she acted like that because he was a narcissist I believe and a emotional abuser towards her. She was very damaged by that whole entire relationship with that man. Then years later they try to paint them like they were meant to be and some kindred spirits or karmic. No, he was not her love at all and she dated men who reminded her like her father. She saw an abusive relationship growing up but thought this was okay but it totally ruined her emotionally. Unfortunately, she dated other men but still he was very toxic.
