I interned in HEC Ranchi few years ago. The company had zero projects before Chandrayan 2. They were highly in debt and the upper management put zero efforts in expansion.
This company HEC( heavy engineering corporation) is in my town near Ranchi. It was established in 60’s with the help of then USSR , by then prime minister Nehruji. Since then no upgradation of its equipment has been done by any subsequent Indian Government. The factory has become so worn out that even its spare parts are not available / manufactured in Czech republic / Russia. Government want to demolish this plant and sell its land( thousands of Hectare) to private entities , but 3500 employees are against it , and local Adivasis want their land back, who are displaced from their land in 60’s. and adding this, the plant is a loss making entity since 29 yrs. as there is no fresh investment in it from ministry of Heavy Industries.
