Every Nation is a product of war. There seems to be a Gen Z uprising across the world as they fight to better governance and holding their leaders to account. In Kenya, they continue to hold demonstrations for two months now while in Bangladesh, they forced the Prime minister to resign and flee the country. Will the young people attain change across board on a similar script? In West Africa, most nations have chased their colonial masters the French as their way out. Mali has recently cut diplomatic ties with Ukraine who were supporting terror groups in their territory. How does Africa then stand up in the fight for its own interests?

Hi, great observation but let me add some context to shed some light on the Bangladesh protest and why it was successful, as a student politics enthusiast. This country has a long history of successful youth-led movements from fighting against the British to fighting for their language in 1952, 1969 for autonomy govt, fighting for freedom in 1971, fighting against the military regime in 1990, a road safety protest in 2018 and the same kids from 2018 had been the front-liner of quota protest. Interestingly, this protest was joined by rich Pvt schools, uni students, youths living comfortable lives people who were nowhere affected by the Quota injustice and normally opt for high-paying Pvt jobs or abroad along with the rest of the general students. Through and through regardless of social status youth always joined together for greater causes in Bangladesh. This protest was stopped midway due to the court's decision to cancel the quota and resurfaced again due to a change in the Supreme Court's decision. There are iconic statues of students all across the country in memory of all the student martyrs. It's the history of student protest for a strong ideology culture and the no care-for-life attitude of Bangladeshi youths to ensure equal rights for others that led to today’s success. Even the head of the interim govt a Noble Laureate and famous economist was proposed by student protestors and now Bangladesh has two student representatives from that protest group in the govt body!
Most of the Southeast Asian countries have strong student bodies who are politically very much aware and vocal.

      Mmh, interesting information.
It seems that Bangladesh doesn't suffer from the deep class issues that we do, which is what has partly led to the breakdown of our maandamano.

@@kim1570 Bangladesh has its fair share of class problems just like Kenya. With youth it's unpredictable and even the govt wasn't prepared to see kids aged from 14/15 to mid-20s would come out on the street not caring about life to support the protest by University students. Many students who benefitted from the Quota and kids of Then Govt officials and ministers also took part in the protest. There’s a popular saying in Bangladesh that says “Fear is contagious, luckily so is courage”. After seeing the youth refusing to back down despite over 1000 kills about 10,000 arrests and kidnappings by govt then the rest of the community started to join. Lawyers, doctors, drivers, engineers, parents, street vendors every walk of people started joining with students. People were too afraid of losing their kids anymore when the govt imposed a shoot-on-sight policy with curfew, full communication and internet blackout for almost a week and used drones and helicopters for targeted killing. But, it was hard to keep the youths at home from protesting regardless.
Their courage infected the entire country.

This fight or war between Russia and Ukraine should not be fought in Africa either directly or indirectly.

Sounds true just because some west African governments are cooperating, with Russia doesn't mean they should have Russian military influences in Africa.

It is time the Batuk ie British training unit in Kenya should close and the land be used for farming or development program.

      Much easier said than done.
So long as Kenya remains in the Anglo-Western neo-colonial matrix, this will never happen. We first need to detach ourselves economically from the West.
