  • Here we see 1 of the newest R211T Open Gangway sets set to enter service very soon. Here we see the train performing simulated stop testing, otherwise known as "burn in testing" along the Astoria Line. This is usually the last phase of testing the train has to go through before entering service, so its very likely you will be able to ride these open gangway trains soon! Enjoy!

wow. With the renovated stations and the new trains the NYC subway actually doesn't look like a piece of crap. Pretty impressive. Hope they do more renovations. Now get those tracks quieter and we're in business.

We might be getting there.... The R211Ts might start entering revenue service somewhere in this month. If so, I guess my predictions were right..

I think you might be right! We are still far from the last day of November so yeah later this month, if not early December... But the question still remains: Where it will enter service? Some say the A/C but others are saying elsewhere (most say E, F, or R). Won't know for sure until the day comes, though.

MTA's top priority for R211t is CBTC then r46s, so most likely, the R211t's will go to the Queens blvd lines (E,F and R). so the displaced r160s, will replace the r68s on the D and B lines. Basically N,W and Q lines will only get the r68s from B/D lines. At least that's what alot of people are saying

I can see this happening R211T for the Coney Island Yard routes B,D,N,Q and W trains if the option order was for them. The reason why the N train from 2007-2021 used R160s was to avoid the train conductor in the United Kingdom Australia Guard to manually flip the R46 R68 R68A rollsigns from the N to W trains and from June 28th 2010s November 7th 2017 Q trains at Astoria Ditmars Boulevard.

@@ImTakingWilliam The N Q and W aren't getting the R211. Simulated Stop Testing doesn't mean they will go to these lines are not. The N Q and W aren't getting R211 because Broadway CBTC and Astoria CBTC aren't coming anytime soon. So the E F and R of the rumors and the other conflict of the rumors B and D is getting R211. Alot of Rumors are saying that R68s will be displaced from Concourse to CIY for the N Q and W and the R68 and R68A's standing at CIY will be reassigned to the N Q and W. B and D are getting NTT Trains. Burn In Testing means they can go to these lines.

@ImTakingWilliam keep on dreaming kid, the R211s for the first option order are most likely going to either Concourse or Jamaica Yard, Coney Island Yard will just get the remaining R68/As from Concourse to make up the loss of cars. I say this because 6th Av is getting CBTC soon so therefore Concourse would need an NTT whether it's a R211 or R160. Broadway isn't seeing any R211s anytime soon.

R211s aren't going to the N Q and W because Broadway CBTC and Astoria CBTC isn't coming anytime soon. R211s are going to lines which are High Ridership, CBTC which are the QBL and 8th Avenue Lines and the Aging Cars which are the A and C lines only. Alot of the rumors are saying that the R68's from concourse are going to CIY for the N Q and W and the R68 and R68A's in CIY will be reassigned as N Q W. Btw, the B and D lines are getting NTT Trains because Rumors said the R160 are going to the B and D lines some N Q W because they said R211s are going to A C E F and R lines while other conflict of rumors said that they are R211s going to the A B C D and some for N Q W lines because of 6th avenue cbtc because they think the mta announced 6th avenue cbtc. If you hope that the R211s are going to the N Q and W. There will be some of them while the R211 are fully on the B and D lines what rumors had said.

Those LED bullets and digital roll signs are comically bad. MTA has unfortunately come a long way from sticking to the graphics standards manual. 99% of the gen public might be indifferent but it's atrocious to a designers eye.
