£170 CHEAP CAR CHALLENGE ... CAN I MAKE A PROFIT?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 22 июл 2024
- I bought a cheap £170 car in hopes to flip it for a profit. It needed a restoration as the car was very neglected, we actually found this car abandoned on a driveway. In this video I try to fix up and add value to this old rotbox in order to make some money.

Make this a series, and use the money you have made to buy another car to flip/ trade and see what car you can end up with.
This is what I do and its bloody hard at this moment in time 🙄
It’s Mike Brewer you need
Leave some for the rest of us ahhah
No want wants to by or sell 😡😡
What a steal at 170 where did you find this car ? All the 170 cars I see need everything replacing
Love the content, what makes it so great is that you do everything in one video instead of dragging it on like some youtubers do. Can't wait for your next one.
Thankyou 🤙🏼
Totally agree. Getting to see the whole thing through to the sale makes this video top quality.
Love this! I had one identical, early sport. Mine was T702 UYA. Was perfect until some old woman reversed into the rear quarter and wrote it off!
Love the other cars and the big projects but seeing quick flips like this seem more relatable that entire rebuilds too!
Well done transformed the astra looked clean and presentable after. I'd say around the 800 was a good price
Liked & Subscribed! Awesome little buys/flips like this can’t be beaten at £845 delivered that’s an amazing workhorse will carry on forever buyer is more than happy & you’ve doubled your money it’s a win win. Keep it up buddy👍🏻
Absolutely love how you get the whole process into one video. Brilliant work.
Quality video, would definitely like to see a trade up series with the profit
Great to see that you quickly managed to restore the vauxhall Astra and make a quick profit. The parts are cheap and for this 2000 is in great mechanical condition. Keep up the great work - and thanks for updating the car one video shoot !
Would love to see more content like this!
To echo everyone else's comments, savage content mate! Best bit being it was one really well out together video. Not a drawn out 10 parts series filled with absolute waffle.
Keep it up 👍🏻
love videos like these...love seeing cars come back to life!
Loved this very satisfying to watch
great job ! enjoyed that video!
Great vid bud. Short sweet and to the point. Love seeing these with real sub £1000 flips. Should continue the series and trade up.. keep going till you have a super car 😂
I enjoyed watching this video! 👍
Really enjoyed this one bro! You're killing it.
Looking at this, I think my Astra that I bought earlier this year is probably on par for value with this one. Mine is a 1.6L mk3 Astra Duo (a special edition) with only 27.5k miles on it and the whole car was in mint condition (minus all the dirt and mold in the interior). And to top it all off, only £250.
£250 with that low miles? Bargain
New sub and impressed,no Woffle and to the point, well impresed.
Yessss lad a new car to the collection love it !!
Really enjoyed this video, please do more
Love these styled videos saving a lovely old motor definitely agree with most here to turn it into a series
I do the same it's getting harder thon
Did you really take the rear number plate off pulled the grommets out and double sided taped the plate on. So left two holes for the boot to rust 👏👏.
good effort, people look down on these cars but they're damn good workhorses and there's a big market for sub £1k cars, especially nowadays.
Nice video! These Astras are underrated cars. I had one a while back and they drive well, are comfortable and pretty reasonable on fuel.
They refuse to die
Great video sir lots of information
Love a bit of classic Vauxhall pink. Nice work.
Hi jack ,great car,I bought my Astra for cheap,I’ve had it 3 years, brilliant ,I’d buy yours
Jack, new to your channel. Loved this Astra video mate, would watch all day if you did more like this 👍
You can watch me I do similier 🤣
These astra mk4s are getting rare now lovely to see this one restored ❤
Really sweet watch Jack.
Nice video jack I have subscribed to your channel and love boris the micra
I honestly thought it was a joke when you showed the astra lol. But hats off to you, it's cleaned up great. Nice profit too 👍
Thanks man!
@@JackMcNeillCars Do yourself a favour and inform your subs that these Telegram me things are a scam and nothing to do with your channel, I've seen it on other channels before. Well done on the Astra, that paint transformation was really impressive.
Crazy you went to my home town Tadley to sell the car hahaha, hopefully I see it driving about😂🔥
Love your videos jack
Hi jack, very entertaining video especially for me as l am staunch General Motors fan .
It’s not just European Gm paint that oxidises so terribly, I assure you my 97 Camaro is afflicted in the same way.
Re the doorskin , you may want to consider for future reference the space hopper/inflatable ball trick.
Simply deflate the ball and place it inside the affected panel, gradually inflate it whilst applying hot water or hot air to the outside of the panel and as long as it’s not creased to death it works a treat
I’ve had a fair bit of success in the past with this, Hope it helps you too
All the best
Jay 👍
Nice onee I've been thinking about doing this for ages but just feel nobody would buy the age of car so not bothered.. might try now.. also the scratch repair on the rear arch could have put filler in then sanded down and painted would have looked better than just a cover spray :) good vid keep them coming make it a series I'm interested
I had the 1.7cdti on an 05 plate lovely drive but had numerous issues with it electrical gremlins and egr the petrol ones are the best ones. 👌 and they were galvanized so never rust like the previous model.
Bloody awesome video
Great profit amazing what a bit of tlc and money can do looked a lot nicer after your work .
Great content, new subscriber love fast flip can you do more it’s fantastic content thanks
Great transformation Jack Little bit of a tip for you mate all your plastics to renew and make them look like new ceramic coat them seriously works amazing you won't believe it till you try it once again excellent transformation of the astra brilliant daily driving car does everything you need them to do 👍🏼👊
Probably a bit expensive for this level of car. A quid on some baby oil is a surprisingly good trim restorer though and probably cheaper than the electricity running the heat gun!
@@adammcallister2260 It won't make the plastics brittle like a heat gun does either. Oil-based trim restorers are the only way to do it, even peanut butter works in a pinch.
Absolute steal for 170 though
This was a great video
That's just amazing restoration, if you want a good idea also is so put some good engine flush before doing the oil change, and injector cleaner in the tank ;)
What a turnaround 👏 PDR guy would have that door back in shape for an hours labour i reckon 🙂👍
Good job buddy 👍
what kind of polish did you use works really well.
Nice quick buck mate, turned out really well
Owned a few astra G 1.8's over the years. Great wee cars
Mark looks confused af💀
Where did you get your detail brushes from please?
I would take that, £170 is a steal.
Make this a series!
Nice bro what compound you use?
This brings back so many memories as a young child my dad owned a silver Vauxhall Astra from 2000 and he somehow crashed it into a brick wall! It remained a Clean Title and instead he bought a VXR bumper from the scrap yard to rectify the damage, and I just checked this car's history (the numberplate was W554 HET) to find It was previously Rolled back and Crashed! And its off the road 😭...
Nice video bit later but use peanut butter on the black trim cost 20x less than cleaner and the natural oils within the peanut butter will darken for plastics ..get some partridge paper and spread on that leave on plastics for about f 10mins then make sure you wipe off as you don't want the car smelling like peanut butter lmao I used this method for deacade plus even on my RC plastics lol 😂😂
I think you deserve every penny of that but the 1.8 starting point was so ridiculous 😂
It looks absolutely mint
FYI, using a heat gun on those plastics will make it much more prone to cracking just sitting about now. People with Minis do it to their scuttle panels and then wonder why they crack when then check their brake fluid level and battery.
marks deffo on gear
how come you painted, serviced, and dent repaired after cleaning and polishing?
Do more of this mate
If you polish up the paintwork, it will only go faded again in a few months🙁
Not if u treat it maybe rub it down with some wet and dry and re lacker the paint to protect it and then polish it.
@@dubzuk3710 👍 but if you just polish it and do nothing else it will fade again
Marks problem now😀
That's not his problem. If he went down a different route with the paintwork he probably wouldn't have made a profit
@@sweatybandit0 👍
top video brother
came out well , they always polish up and i think people dont know it can be done . find a new supplier for wipers though that price for those was ridiculous
Oh yes jack possibly the best Astra they made 1800 seen to much tho I struggle to flog a diesel Astra same shape has this for 1400
I bought a k11 micra some years ago for £150 that had full service history and 26k on the clock, not a single thing wrong with it was mint condition except From a passenger door damage, bought a second hand door but in a different colour for £30 and used the car for several months. Bargains are out there and I have come across a few
More car flips!!!
You were the guy on the ad of this video lol. I thought my eyesight was wayning but you were on an ebay ad.
any content on how you got the number placed or who did them for you?
Knowing where there is a plentiful supply of cheap parts helps. I have a few sellers on ebay that sell new old stock and business clearances. Bought a £200 Passat TDi a couple of months ago, spent £250 on it and sold for £1650
Any for me then as can't find a single bargain
@@flippingcarsrepairs try typing the part number in ebay and sort results by lowest price. Can't remember off hand the sellers I use but I'll try get a couple of names
Will the po,ish not wear off with time and weather?
Thank god it’s not just me who tapes my plates on lmao
1st or second or 3rd or 4th 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 mint video
The heat gun draws the resin out of the plastic to the surface, which makes them appear " blacker " however this is at a cost. The resin provides plasticity to the trims, and now will be very very brittle. Cheap fix to sell a car on, if you intended to keep it other methods work better
Use a bit of wood and hammer it from the inside of the door to help get the dent out
Vauxhall Astra mk4s are awesome cars hence why I'm on my 5th had I have seen that for sale I would have snapped it up to go with my w reg 1.6 8v estate ☹️
As it stands, a 1.8 8v Astra sells for around £250 without cat, battery or alloys to the banger boys.
You could probably get £20 for the battery, £60 for alloys in scrap and the cat will go for a fair bit also. Could potentially break £500 as it sits
Thats not going to make money on yt content thou
Did you buy it private or trade if so can you add the buying / haggling part into the next videos please
Upgrade & see how far you can go doing the same 👍... Be interesting for those who may wanna do the same. Wicked vid !
Definitely need to spend the 445 on another flip car and see if you can trade up to something cool, a hot hatch or something
That's my plan I'm doing the same
Well done but £1800 was very ambitious!
Yo Jake when are you going to make more videos of the BMW like you said you will in one of your vids
can u do more of this type of content
This the car we use in the Netherlands for tuning. Most of them are “frankenstein’s” or just shitboxes
How many hours to tart up the car?
what insurance do you use ???
Where can I find car like this one?
new jeramy clarkson😂
Coolent tank looked empty. Check the head gasket maybe
Can't beat a mk4.. I have a 2000 reg with 42k miles and red..
Use burnt engine oil or back to black on the strips around the car
A really nice car
I still couldn’t believe you put it up for over 1.5k
How much I’ll buy it. I’m desperate for a car. Need one to get to work and take my son out. Cheers for the content bro. Amazing stuff
Reminds a wee bit of top gear
I go a 2005 Vauxhall signum 3l V6 for £170 cost £20 fix and sold for £700 after driving it for a year
How come insurance is so low?
can't believe you sold a car to Thanos . Skillz.
