Great vid. Good filming and very good commentary. Thanks 😁 A sidenote; I used the video for a Superb 4x4, and there it was easier accessing the filter from underneath the car 👍 Thanks again. Thumb and sub from Norway 😁👍👌
When you refill the system through the gearbox drain/refill point it will also fill the mechatronics at the same time. Just got a separate drain plug but use the same fill point.
Great tutorial! I have 7speed DQ381 in Kodiaq. Dealer suggests oil only change at 70k miles. Ive done 47k and want to change oil for peace of mind. Am I ok to just change oil or should filter be changed as well? Any harm just doing oil? Thanks
I’ve got a Seat Tarraco 2019 2.0l diesel 190hp. The filter is facing upwards not sideways like yours. I believe my dsg is A DQ500? Is yours a different box?
There are a few different variants of the 7 speed dsg gearbox. Your DG500 is generally used on heavier applications with high torque. Even though it's appearance is different the servicing will be the same.
This is not something we have ever done but in theory it should be ok. But please note this deviates away from the procedure and we wouldn't recommend it.
Dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) Apart from the number of forward gears, the DSG gearboxes are equipped with different types of clutch. The gearboxes designed for low torque values feature two dry clutches while the units designed for higher torque values are equipped with wet clutches running in a sump.
My Skoda dealership says my 2019 1.6 TDI 7 speed dash gearbox is a sealed for life gearbox is this correct please if not what mileage or year do you recommend the oil and filter change please?
No automatic gearbox should be sealed for life. The way the gearbox works it's by pressure and numerous clutches which are designed to slip. This slipping will cause debris in the oil over time. Personally I'd recommend every 40-50k miles. If your call TPS I'm sure they will give you a quote for a service kit, along with their recommendations for intervals.
Sorry we don't carry out servicing but we can certainly recommend a reputable local garage that will be able to provide you with a quote. MTM Motor Services 01554 752004

The dealerships often change the service intervals for certain items. Last I heard it was 70k miles which is about 120,000km. Personally I'd recommend every 40k miles. Thanks
This was done after 40k miles, but the manufacturer recommendations is 70k miles. Please check with your local dealership as these intervals can change

Does the gearbox and mechatronic use the same oil? Because I didn’t see you fill the mechatronic.
When you refill the system through the gearbox drain/refill point it will also fill the mechatronics at the same time.
Just got a separate drain plug but use the same fill point.
@@DropTheBoxOfficialThanks for clearing up that. I assumed this was the case, but just wanted to be dead sure I don't stuff up the box 😂
Thanks for this. I have DSG7 and my Skoda dealer says that I don’t need to change the gear oil. It’s maintenance free.
All automatic gearboxes should be serviced, as debris from the internal clutches will contaminate the oil overtime
But does this gearbox have dry clutch?
you drained the mechatronic part without filling it.
or it's the same oil
(sorry for mu langage )

How many litres of the old dirty oil came out ? also once the new oil found its level how much new oil drained back out?
We didn't measure. If the procedure is followed it will be correct

If you are going to the trouble of changing the oil id recommend doing the filter at the same time.
Thanks very good
Thank you
Why you don’t add same amount of oil , which was took out ?
@@George-sw7qd possible to do it that way. But for the video we stick to the advised procedure

All uses same oil. Refilled from same point
