    This was so helpful! Thanks to your simple, non-nonsense instructions, I even did this with my pesky four year old around climbing all over the car and roof! ;) Thank you!

    Mitsubishi makes an almost identical crossbar. On the ends of each crossbar there’s a plastic piece that flips up. I initially came here to see if this video explained what that folding piece was for, and my question was answered at the end of the video; It’s so things like bicycle racks etc can be installed on the crossbars. Thank you for making this video. Very informative.

    Thanks for the tip on splitting the filler. Nowhere in the instructions does it say to do that.

      @@ErykStus Is it possible for you to give me the dimension of the inside of the clamp so I can see if it fits my roof rail that has ±45mm thick (vertically). I want to see if the clamp can take all the raill thickness or if it is too small for my rail. For Kia Sorento X-LINE model. THANK YOU

    I’ve got the volume turned all the way up and can barely hear the video. Please redo the soundtrack.

    Excellent! Without videos like these installation would be impossible given that the instructions seem to be written for Martians! Only recommendation: use a rubber mallet to get end caps on.

    Is the Swingblade end cap locked with the main key as well? I'm looking at how it works and I imagine that if eg. a T-mounted roof box is not mounted very tightly, anybody can slide it out, to the side? Maybe not very likely scenario, but just wanted to know if this Swingblade secures physically in any way as well, or it rather exists just for convenience of not loosing the end-cap (compared to crossbars from other manufacturers)?

    • @rackwarehouse
      @rackwarehouse  3 года назад +1

      The endcap has no locking capability. Typically the accessory itself being mounted into the slot has locking capability to prevent a thief from accessing any of the hardware to remove it.

      You can look up if this rack will work on your vehicles rails via Thule's Fit lookup. www.thule.com/en-us/fit-my-car

      @@rackwarehouse They don't have it yet. Engineers needs to blah blah blah... I had time to buy it BTW, tried it to say that it dosen't fit!! Crap! I need to get it back and buy the THULE Rapid Crossroad 450R to get this to work. But this one is just less strong then other and it's like straps instead of clamps....

    I’m trying to decide between this and Yakima timberline/jet stream set up. Seems like the Thule has more features. But I’m mostly concerned about wind noise. Do you have a recommendation?

    • @rackwarehouse
      @rackwarehouse  3 года назад +1

      I would say that both systems are pretty comparable, and the decision would ultimately have to come down to your personal preference between the two. As far as wind noise goes, typically the wing shaped crossbars from either Thule and Yakima are fairly quite while driving. Wind noise is a tricky one however, as sometimes the way a car was designed can direct air in just the wrong way that wind noise is inevitable regardless of bar style. Something to consider.

    Really annoying that Thule pay walled the lock cores as an additional purchase. It should have just came with the purchase…

    1:52 how loud are those clicks? Because I swear it's getting really tight and I still can't hear any clicks

    • @rackwarehouse
      @rackwarehouse  2 месяца назад

      Hello, thanks for checking out our video! The clicks you are referring to come from within the torque limited tool. As long as you are using the Thule supplied tool keep tightening until you hear this indicator letting you know it's properly tightened. If you are not using the Thule supplied tool, we strongly recommend you purchase the tool from Thule, or see your closest Thule retailer and have them lend you a tool to check your rack is tight. Hope this helps!

      @@rackwarehouse I also have a Sienna, it has raised roof rails, but the Thule 'Fit My Car' says to use the 450R Crossroad? Any chance this one might work as well?

    • @rackwarehouse
      @rackwarehouse  2 года назад

      Hi Nick, we have had a customer attempt to fit this foot pack to the Sienna. I believe the end result was that it does grab onto the rail, however the rail is a bit thicker than the standard roof rail and so it wasn't as secure of a fit as we would like to see. Our advice would be to go with the reccomended 450r foot pack instead. They are very easy to use and the rubber coated steel straps are very secure. Hope this helps!
