Just about 700 miles on mine now. Coming from a 6.0 gasser holy shit I've tripled my torque upped my h.p by almost 150 and doubled my fuel mileage. I'm loving the '24 ho larriat this far. Great videos sir👍
I know this might be a stupid question but after driving new rams, a new powerstroke and getting time in the L5P which brand would you say fits you the best and also for a man starting out which brand would you recommend yourself for someone else to use? I’m just curious I’ve been following you for awhile now and over the years you were strictly ram and now you’re kinda stepping your toes into the water for different things. So far ive only owned 2 6.7 Cummins a 2015 2500 68rfe, 2008 6.7 g56 and a 02 LB7 Dmax. I’m looking to get into the hauling business here soon and I’m in the market for a truck at the moment but I’m so torn between the 3 honestly so that’s why I was looking for someone with knowledge and experience to see what your opinion was.
Stay away from the new Cummins trucks. You can’t go wrong with either the Ford or GM. I think GM still has the better transmission but I like my Ford better overall.
Things to know. 2019-up Cummins has major design flaws with lifters, no bearings and engine failure will happen. Powerstroke CP4 is known as a failure point on any diesel, unless you run fuel additive with lubricity to prevent it from happening. Duramax gm designed and built transmission with fake Allison label purchased from Allison, otherwise people will not consider duramax. No problematic cp4, however crankshafts prone to breaking causing severe engine damage.
@@repairvehicle that explains why I’ve seen numerous guys weld the crankshaft on those Duramaxs. Never knew that was a major issue until recently. I have a good friend that owns an L5P and so far he’s very happy with it. My only thing with GM really is the IFS which most people don’t mind but for me Id rather have a solid axle Incase of off-road situations. Me personally I’ve been looking into the F450s but a lot of guys have told me to get 17-19 because the 10 speed auto isn’t really that good in the 20-22s compared to the 6 spd in the 17-19s. I love the looks of the rams and I’ve personally owned 2 6.7s and never had any majors issues however I have read where the 19s and up where having issues so you saying that must mean it’s true. Which is such a shame because the Cummins platform use to stand by their name and their products but I guess greed is really what is ruining these manufacturers. Thank you for your input much appreciated.
My 2024 HO never leaves 0% on the exhaust filter, but my DEF Level drops like a rock I'd be surprised if I got 3 tanks of fuel maybe 4 before I'm out of DEF.
They stay cleaned out passively if you run bio fuel. If you’re running dino diesel it will fill the filter up and do a regen like normal. The regen is very fast though compared to any other truck I’ve had. It will clean itself out in a just a few miles.
@@Parker-ub8xu my exhaust filter literally is on 0% all the time. It never moves. It may as well not even be there. If it’s zero, what would be the explanation of my def level dropping?
I'm wondering why it seems the on road manufacturers have to make their engines more complex than necessary. It doesn't make sense why the off road segments can more or less take a tier 2 engine that has a fixed geometry turbo and no egr and make it tier 4 compliant by only putting a doc and scr canister behind them
I use to own a 2015 6.7 and before I got it deleted the only way I could tell it was in regen is when I’d have the truck parked and it would go into a high idle and you could smell the DEF being burned from the tailpipe area. Also when pulling a load if it was going up hill and it went into regen I could tell the difference in power wise but other than that you can’t really notice it like the older preDef trucks.
One thing about RAM, besides having the best diesel on the road, is they correct things fast. CP 4 recall replaced with the CP 3 for 2019 and 2020s. Also bad motors for the 2022s. I know of many failed CP 4s in fords and chevys.
@@JakeScott-ke3sh then why there is kits available to replace cp4 with another more reliable, if it’s exaggerated? No one created kit to replace cp3 pumps

I really appreciate your take. You know enough to understand what to expect.
How long of a drive do you usually have to take to get the filter back to 0 if you’re around 80%?

Very good information. Thank you!
How many miles do you have on this one, been watching since you've been trying out the ford 6.7's
Actual tests have shown the H.O. ford takes almost twice the DEF as a 22 Ford towing heavy
Do you have these actual tests?
@@repairvehicleno he’s a troll and thought the ford 6.2 was a 3 valve
It seems to do that when it is new the frequency will decrease as you get miles!

Can you tell me what front and rear axles are in these new 2024 HO diesels? I can't seem to find a straight answer on this.
I have never noticed my 2018 Ram do a Regen? What's up with that?
The only way I can tell my 18 ram in regen is through scangauge, when it starts and ends. Also, how full it is with soot

Chevys don’t use cp4 anymore. 5gen rams have bad lifters, no bearing in them and it’s a ticking clock ready to explode
Still have the cp4 in that powerstroke?
Of course
It’s brand new..

I’m just saying my experience and it’s hard to believe, companies need to make things to sell even if they are not needed, maintenance is key
12k limited def usage ford has it down!
Have fun with that emission nightmare
Dude emissions really don't cause issues like people claim. Its 95% terrible operation habits
My 2019 ram used a god awful amount of def!
My 2020 uses hardly any.
same here with my 19 Cummins
