- To improve its amphibious capabilities in support of the Philippine Marine Corps, and also to boost its logistics support capabilities in overall support of the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Navy has embarked on the acquisition of the Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV), which is part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program.

Semoga dalam waktu 10 atau 15 tahun lagi Indonesia sudah menguasai teknologi dan komponen untuk membuat fregat yang berkualitas, mulai dari desain, sistem avionik, radar, persenjataan, rudal, roket, dan komponen-komponen lain.
Saat ini Indonesia sudah menjalani itu.
Untuk menguasai semua itu, Indonesia perlu menjalin kerjasama dengan perusahaan-perusahaan terkenal, dan Indonesia harus rela untuk mengeluarkan uang yang banyak.
Contohnya dari Desain Fregat.
Saat ini Indonesia sudah memiliki lisensi desain Fregat Arrowhead-140 (AH-140)
Fregat ini digunakan oleh seluruh negara Uni Eropa. Indonesia juga sudah berhasil membuat prototipe radar canggih Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) dengan Jangkauan Pendek.
Bersama dengan itu, Indonesia pasti akan meningkatkannya menjadi radar AESA dengan jangkauan yang lebih jauh.
Saya berharap Filipina akan menjadi pelanggan pertama ketika Indonesia telah berhasil memproduksi Fregat dengan desain Arrowhead-140 yang cantik itu.
Beberapa tahun lalu, Tentara Filipina juga tertarik untuk membeli medium tank buatan
PT. Pindad Indonesia yaitu Medium Tank Harimau.
Tetapi akhirnya Filipina tidak jadi membeli, dan memilih Medium Tank buatan Israel.
Isu yang tersebar, karena harga medium tank Harimau mahal.
Setelah kegagalan itu, PT. Pindad Indonesia terus melakukan peningkatan Medium Tank Harimau, salah-satunya dengan bekerjasama dengan Perusahaan FNSS Turki 🇹🇷
Saat ini Medium Tank (MT) Harimau telah berhasil ditingkatkan, dan sekarang memiliki 2 nama, yaitu;
Harimau Hitam MT 🇮🇩 dan Kaplan-MT 🇹🇷

the Del Pilar Class actually Tarlac Class is the second
Samuel Joseph Urquia umm, it's not. It is the Tarlac-Class that is the largest in the PN. The length of the Gregorio Del Pilar-Class is about 115 meters, while the Tarlac-Class is about 123 meters. And obviously it's (BRP Tarlac) height is much higher than BRP Gregorio Del Pilar.

Yes, I agree with you. Most people would argue that the fighting ships and frontline troops are the most important part of a military. But it's the logistical supports that is the actual backbone of any military. Without them, the frontline troops and sailors are vulnerable.

Any news about the military industry complex in pH?
Disregarding the shortcomings and blunders of Former President Aquino and President Duterte you have to at least credit them for their effort to make our armed forces stronger and more modernized. Tho I personally would like the military budget to be bigger, would be great if its at least 2% -3% of the annual budget of the country.
Ah yes!, We really can't deny that these 2 Presidents were able to provide brand new weapons, armaments and assets to our Navy and to the other service branch of Armed Forces of the Philippines! 2nd hand procurement is now ended and dead! Credit must given to President Aquino & President Duterte!😄😄😄😃😃😃
In fact the Philippines defense budget is one of the lowest in Asia compared to our GDP. It is now necessary to increase our government budget spending for defense because it will sustain our security,development, progress & Filipino survival of our Freedom and democracy no matter what, it was not perfect! I think 50℅ increase or more up to 10+ billion US dollar. Our defense budget is only 4.5 + billion US dollar!I think the 10 billion US dollar budget we can acquire The least 2 squadrons or 24 multi-role Fighter jets, 2 or 3 submarine and Heavy MBT tanks and Amphibious Armored Vehicles or many batteries of Rafael Air defense iron Dome, Brahmos Anti-ship missiles or batteries of heavy self-profelled artillery like Atmos 2000 or multi- Rocket Launchers complete with munition, logistics and technical trainings of crews, Personnel and officers of our AFP!😄😃😃

This type of ship should have anti-ship missiles and vls due to its size. It doesnt even have anti-submarine capabilities since it is considered a high value target. 2 mistral missile launcher will not protect this ship when its raining missiles with a maximum speed of 16 knots only.

- 2 ~12-ton heli flight deck
- beyond sea-state 9
- future provisions to scale up power supply to meet future advances such as lasers
- 2 diesel-electric engines (plus 1 or 2 ffbnw to increase speed as a future option), if not 4 smaller DE engines from the start
- better accommodations for UAVs, USVs, UUVs; or at least readily upgradeable to do so
- ffbnw for the expected eventual maturing of ATT tech

That also explains why JR class frigs have a 12-ton load on helideck but only 10 on the hangar
