So, help me understand; An appraisal should include an offered report, but a grading always includes a report or certificate of quality and worth. Is this correct or a bit off the bullseye mark? Thanks!
An appraisal always includes a monetary value for an item. An appraisal describes the item, and also offers a value for a specific purpose. ie retail insurance replacement. A diamond certificate does not include a monetary value it establishes the color, clarity, size, and other qualities of a diamond item.
Hi Nolan. Thanks for the good question. These guns are top notch for checking both metals and alloy type. However, they cannot determine the quality, age, brand, or diamond or gemstone quality or veracity. Great Question! Feel free to reach out to us via email at info@diamocycle. com for further questions.
@@diamocycle8897 thanks for the quick reply and wouldn't someone dealing in jewlery that have a xrf gun know how to look for the clarity, cut, collar etc?
Hi Nolan, the training involved for understanding how to use this device is non-correlated to the training used to identify gemstones, and diamonds. For more info on gemstone and diamond education; take a look at . www.gia.edu/. You will find some great educational resources. Thanks for the follow up. Diamocycle Team

Would it be cheaper to pay someone with a xrf gun( xray analysis gun) to examine the jewlry?
