everyone should play the way they personally think is right. playing the piano should be fun. Criticism is important, but you should note that perception is in the eye of the beholder no matter whether a famous pianist thinks it should be played differently
When I play the piano I usually play with a completely straight and barely move but I absolutely love playing the piano so just because the kid is playing with a straight face doesn’t mean they don’t love playing it just means they’re focused and moving bunch or smiling a lot might distract them
This was so interesting........and on several levels. My heart goes out both to Lang Lang and the young pianist......on almost equal measure, ........... but not quite!
I'm 13 and just started playing this piece. The fact that a 12 year old can reach this level is impressive! I could tell the kid was nervous at the beginning. I would be too.
I understand that most young players strive first for technical perfection, the expression will hopefully follow after that. I kind of like the way Lang Lang approach the piece. Also I heard a few play (not here) the soft part just a fraction slower to coax a few more tear drops from audience 😊
Skills u can learn, notes you can keep on practise. Dont just play piano. Go on watch a movie, go on listen to the wave, watch the tree leaves moving, flowers waving at you, feel yourself like water.
when i was a kid in piano lessons, i had no clue what the teachers meant about the colour dynamic changes lang lang is stressing. even lang lang said that he was only taught techniques as a kid
Not trying to be a " smarty-pants", but Lang Lang said what I was thinking as the 1st youngster played. Invaluable advice , to make the music " sing" , with " light and shade". Fascinating. 😊💕🇬🇧⭐💕😊
Another emotionless little kid who gets forced to practice 8 hours a day and is taught to play just the notes as if it were a robot playing. This honestly sounds like a midi file. It's really sad what parents will do to their kids in order to feel successful through them.
I feel bad for the kid.... A lesson in front of a thousand people only to be said that he/she plays without feeling from a man who has played for how long, 30 years, and is one of the best atm? In my experience that part develops after the puberty for most people
lo lind and its pretty ironic too. I love lang lang but it can be said that he likes to show off a little. Which defeats the point of putting emotions into a piece
This maybe a most important affect for the kid’s life .You are not serious enough to watch,Langland has also talked about the skills of playing piano. Pointing to your wrong things can benefit you.If the kid wants to be a professional pianist, he needs to know these things earlier. Maybe later when his skills are very fantastic, and no one point out the lack of emotion, then his piano way maybe not successful or more difficult. In addition, skills are linked by emotion.
Its an impressive performance, but there was no emotion in there but playing at that speed, i think i can’t do it as a pianist. The only point i can think of with people who plays music without emotions is them only trying to show off/flex..
That was fantastic. It is not easy to teach like this. I know. Because I teach in similar style. One needs to be grown up to understand this concept of feel and flow. I had master lessons in the past and I only understand this now.
Whats wrong with people in comments just because he doesnt fell the emotion in this piece doesn’t mean hes emotionless. Probably the piece isnt for him, but no body is emotionless we all feel something in the type of music we like
Reading comment gives the impression everyone is damn piano player. The girl is fantastic. She is only 12 and needs some fine tuning. I also love the way Lang Lang is passionate about what he wants to say. I think there is a little bit of language barrier here. Sometime he cannot find the best word to describe what he wants to say and uses body language to compensate. Those parts of his brain responsible for music works way faster than the parts controls his speaking.

Be water -- Bruce Lee :)
Technically he plays really really well, but you can only go so far technically, the rest is emotion and interpretation
Technically, she is still lacking a bit as well.
Technically, it might be a he
shawn sun technically its a he
Well technically i think that with the piece she has exagerated the pianissimo
No? She doesnt even play technically well what are you saying
when i was a kid in piano lessons, i had no clue what the teachers meant about the colour dynamic changes lang lang is stressing. even lang lang said that he was only taught techniques as a kid
Not trying to be a " smarty-pants",
but Lang Lang said what I was
thinking as the 1st youngster played.
Invaluable advice , to make the music " sing" ,
with " light and shade".
Fascinating.
😊💕🇬🇧⭐💕😊
If you want to hear the most perfect fantasie impromptu,
You must watched fantasie impromptu played by Valentina Igoshina!
She played so perfectly
shishkin dmitry's one is better

Imagine the pressure as a child as well performing that infront of lang lang ain’t no way I could ever do that knowing he’s there watching 😂😂
I play violin but this video got me hooked
"You really need to you know make those sound happening"
Deep.
Qualquer um pode tocar piano, mas nem todos conseguem atingir o coração. "Lang Lang "
When the girl played I felt no emotion.
When Lang Lang played I got goosebumps.
Boy* -_-
@@hisky. Oh LMFAOO
@@hisky. ITS A BOY?
@@srikarrishikesanXF yes lol how can you not tell
@@hisky. how where did you get that information.
That kid will remember this for a very Lang Lang time..
Lang Lang is so fantastic
It's like cooking. It's up to you to make it more flavorful and tasty.
Another emotionless little kid who gets forced to practice 8 hours a day and is taught to play just the notes as if it were a robot playing. This honestly sounds like a midi file. It's really sad what parents will do to their kids in order to feel successful through them.
George Pantzikis I don’t think that’s quite true, I think the students are very happy to play!
So true agreed
watching too much shigatsu wa kimo no uso is not a good thing.
Crei D i don’t know about that tho
shes still a kid, playing with a lot of emotion comes over time..
He's so right. The music has an ebb and flow and the pianist needs to create that feeling of the ebb and flow, not just play it technically perfectly.
Love it. Thanks lang lang. We are emotional being..totally agreed your pedagogy and performance guidance..
LOL The ringtone comment was spot on!
Lang Lang: Tells the kid to play differently
The kid: Does the exact same thing 5 times
He needs to understand it first...
you are not listening....
imagine being critiqued by a world renowned pianist while also being watched by an audience
There was better contrast when they played forte to piano, so I think there was improvement
This is surprisingly what my piano teacher tells me after I play Chopin every time.
I feel bad for the kid.... A lesson in front of a thousand people only to be said that he/she plays without feeling from a man who has played for how long, 30 years, and is one of the best atm? In my experience that part develops after the puberty for most people
The child looked scared..
Anyone would be lucky to have a Master class with Lang Lang
Not now for her, but this tube will serve her the best knowledge in years to come:)
lo lind and its pretty ironic too.
Way too fast imo. Saps the emotion right out of the piece.
Sam Pinsky what if you feel no emotion?
Lil Piccolo
Then what is the point of playing music?
Its an impressive performance, but there was no emotion in there but playing at that speed, i think i can’t do it as a pianist. The only point i can think of with people who plays music without emotions is them only trying to show off/flex..
@@lilpiccolo6519 yo are you okay bro?
@@samcrackers i was one edgy mofo a year ago damn lmao
That was fantastic.
It is not easy to teach like this.
I know. Because I teach in similar style.
One needs to be grown up to understand this concept of feel and flow.
I had master lessons in the past and I only understand this now.
Whats wrong with people in comments just because he doesnt fell the emotion in this piece doesn’t mean hes emotionless. Probably the piece isnt for him, but no body is emotionless we all feel something in the type of music we like
She started as a robot. But progressed quite well with one lesson
