One thing, when I watch this movie, that always makes me root for John Wick is that the puppy seems to have enough strength to drag it's beat up, mangled body across the floor the get next to John Wick to get comfort from him/provide comfort to him. The first time I realized that I was even more furious with what happened to the puppy.
It's amusing that if the gang hadn't hurt the puppy, most of the audience would have viewed John as little more than a sociopathic killer. But with the death of the puppy, suddenly the audience was rooting for Wick to kill them all.
People love their dogs, and there probably wasn't a dog owner on Earth that wasn't outraged. You guy's reaction to the puppy's death was universal among reviewers online.
I always interpreted it as the gang placed the dog there, after it died, as a form of disrespect towards John.
If you stop the film and look at the paperwork on the cage of the dog you can see that the dog was scheduled for euthanasia the next business day. This makes it even better that John took it.
So true. Yes it was the puppy for me. I am a life long cat owner but I 💕 pets & after that I was rooting for John all the way.
@@ExtractorGamesthere's a trail of blood, though. I feel they would have picked up the dog and dropped it.
Casting Willem Dafoe as Marcus was actually a brilliant move because he basically always plays the bad guy so his actor image just added to the doubt over whether he was a friend or enemy. Pure *chef's kiss*
so right. love how they made it look like he missed that shot, but really he was just waking him up and protecting him. He is a good actor and that twist was really good
Just like in Boondock Saints, playing the FBI Agent, that LOOKS like the bad guy but is the good guy.
Dafoe is amazing.
You can practically hear the voiceover on the trailer for Marcus, "In a world of bad guys ... he's the one you can trust."
"he basically always plays the bad guy" Utter bollocks, watch Platoon or Mississippi Burning.
Do those movies have "good guys"?@@Ffinity
Keanu did do all the fighting and shooting
sequences by himself, got properly trained in
combat and in using various different firearms because he wanted it all to be as authentic as
possible, with reloading and everything 😁
and it paid off because ever since ive gotten into the John Wick serious fully, i notice stunt doubles in other movies like WAY EASIER NOW
Taran Tactical FTW!! :)
I believe he is actually good enough at firearms to compete at a professional level in shooting competitions. The videos of him going through shooting ranges is incredible.
There's a video on RUclips of his training that's pretty cool
Lets not forget that the director of the movie is a stuntman as well, even was the body double for Brandon Lee after he died on the set of The Crow in 1994. So being a stuntman, he knows how to make action scenes look good.
I love the scene where the mob boss hangs up the phone with a simple, "Oh." Not only does that establish John Wick's mystique and reputation, but it also establishes that boss as a street-smart and reasonable villain, and establishes his son as exactly the kind of idiot that would do everything we see him do, to the point that even his own father realizes it. A short scene with about three lines of dialogue establishes exactly what kind of characters we're dealing with.
That's one of the best things about this movie- its narrative efficiency. Every moment either develops character or advances the plot, with almost no filler.
That "oh" is my favorite word of dialogue in all cinema, it just says so much.
Marcus the sniper definitely missed that shot on purpose...he took the contract so that he could actually help John. Since Vigo made the contract open, Marcus knew that other folks would be after John, so he said he would take the contract to save John...you will see. 💯😎
You were correct Amber. Not only was John saving that dog at the end it was on the chart that the dog was going to be put to sleep later that day.
The ending scene walking with the dog is where his wife passed out.
When Amber starting talking about the puppy I was like…oh noooooooo lol
The puppy scene kills me everytime!!
I love that when Jimmy (the cop) sees the bodies and blood, you hear his voice raise a bit as he suddenly realizes he's not talking to John, he's talking to John Wick.
He also takes off his hat and covers his body camera with it
Jimmy already knew John, and about his past, which is why he left him alone. This is why he's in the second film going along with the "gas leak" dialogue. 😂
@@MisterW0lfeGood observation!
This series is directed by Chad Stahelski, who started out as a stunt man...this film was his debut as a director, which is why the action is so tight and realistic.
He was Keanu's stunt double on The Matrix which is why they are friends - he was doing Chad a favor starring in this to help start his career as a director.
He worked on The Crow as a stunt man which they should check out in October for Halloween
“ Why did they have to kill the puppy!?”… to make you perfectly fine with John killing everyone that looks at him in this movie 😂
The fact that Keanu Reeves went through tons of Weapon handling, gun-fu and other training is awesome and explains why it looked so good
The videos of Keanu and Halle training at the range are awesome. They trained with an absolute combat shooting sport master. Also the efficiency of tapping the head on each and every target as he went through them.
Woah you mean an actor ...did the bare minimum? So stunning, so brave.
@@nukiesduke6868Most do; Keanu doesn't. He continually trains between movies. That's why he looks like a machine; it's second nature.
@nukiesduke6868 The bare minimum? People doing the bare minimum don't train shooting with Taran Butler and jiu jitsu with the Machados for months before filming and in between movies. Keanu is a beast.
fun fact people stole john wicks fast reload lol alot competative shooters use it now
Best line. "he stole John Wicks car and killed his dog." "Oh.." So much said with one word.
Yep, Keanu Reeves is known as the "kindest actor in Hollywood" but you're right, he's trained in martial arts and a multitude of different firearms from the Matrix films, and maintains his skills.
Ya but al from married with children has a black belt lol ed O’Neil goat
He also has his own custom bike brand that he contributed likenesses of their products to have in-game for Cyberpunk 2077. He even played guitar and vocals for his character Johnny Silverhand's parts.
"How do get in that business? You can't even advertise it." I spit out my water at that one. 🤣🤣🤣
Omer Barnea, actor who played Grigori, Iosef Terasov's driver, was so traumatized by even pretending to kill the puppy that when the director called "cut" he picked up the puppy and cuddled it for an hour afterward
That's so wholesome. Thanks for sharing. Apparently the director looked at several puppies and picked the one that looked the most sweet and gentle, he knew that would aid getting the audience behind John Wick's actions. Tbh they could have killed his pet turtle and I would have supported his decision.
Josef Tarasov was the one who "killed" the puppy, not his driver Grigori.
@@pickle581 That is not correct. Ioseph ordered "shut thr dog up," and it was Grigori who carried out the order/
@@GrumpyOldGuyPlaysGames oops
I think Die Hard and John Wick are different enough that you don't have to pick a favorite. The tones are totally different, Die Hard has so much sarcastic and even some silly humor while this one is an example of the modern action movie that is fully dark, no break for a moment of light humor. Both are the best of their genre.
This is the rare series where the sequels actually don't disappoint. They don't "phone it in", they really work it and each one gets more exciting.
Can't wait for you two to get to J.W. 3.
T-2 and Aliens were better than the original IMO.
@@jakerazmataz852 They were, agreed. But how were the third and fourth in each series? John Wick kept up the quality on each successive release. Normally you'd expect one clinker out of 4, but they did pretty good. Hope they know when to quit before it becomes a parody.
@@albertsmith9315 I only watched parts of T-3, it was that bad. JW 2 was good, I haven't seen the rest. I'm old, and can accept some suspension of reality, but most of these film are way past that.
😂😂😂😂
@@jakerazmataz852 I think that's the part about it being a rare series when the sequels don't disappoint. The fact that a couple come to mind is because they're so rare, especially for anything 3 or 4 deep.
One of the parts a lot of people miss is the trail of blood Daisy left trying to get to John. Injured, broken, and bleeding, she crawled herself back to John before she died to see if he was ok.
I was waiting for THAT moment. And the reaction did not disappoint. That was the catalyst for so much glorious mayhem! R. I. P. Daisy
I HATE gratuitous animal deaths in movies…BUT…the repercussions that Daisy’s murder causes…beautiful. I still can’t watch her death in this movie…cause the trailer, alone, at the theatre caused me to cry …it’s awesome to see Wick annihilate everyone in his way to get the guy who killed her.
“It was just a do…”. Bam, bam, bam!!!
I love the scene when Vigo calls John to try to solve the situation. You can see he is not used to make phone calls by himself. The way he puts his glasses on and dial. But that call he had to make in person. Did not help him though🤣
I was not prepared on how emotional this first movie was in this series. Such a good film. Totally took the industry by surprise in my opinion.
Agreed, didn't know much about it going in, a few months after the physical release,...and was completely blown away. Peace and blessings to you and your's.
The great thing about the John Wick franchise , is not just the scripts , the action sequences, or the cinematography , but the solid and class acting that is brought from every actor involved in all the films. Every actor brought their A-Game for these films , no matter what role they had.
The part with the dog in the beginning broke my heart, because without my wife, I would be lost. I would not know how to live anymore. She taught me how to function in society as an adult as we were both still kids when we met. She is literally my best friend, and she knows all of my faults, and she knows what I am thinking sometimes before I even think it. If someone killed the last gift that my dying wife gave me, I would turn into something that she would never approve of.
I know what that is. Without my better half, I would just stop even bother to be fuctioning member of society. My better half keeps me and my demons in check. Every day I wake up, I thank God for having her. She keeps me crossing into shadows. She is my beacon of hope in stormy sea and prevents me to get lost. She is my life saviour.
One thing I love about this film.....someone could be the most hardcore, anti-violence advocate, but the second the puppy gets harmed....? Yeah, all bets are off.
Amber is one of those individuals who is pure of heart right down to her core. But by the time John pulls the trigger on his first "victim", she is SO ready for some payback and is cheering our hero on.
Now Rob, on the other hand, played football......so we know he has that killer instinct deep down😁. Great vid, guys! Can't wait for the next 3.
This was one of the best action films I've seen in quite some time Keanu was perfectly cast as John Wick. Another great action gem worth checking out is NOBODY .
Second that!
Third that. Bob odenkirk and really the whole cast was great in that film. It was a lot of fun to watch.
Nobody is like the perfect companion piece to the JW franchise. It's very similar, but on the other hand it's so different that they are both great in their own ways.
He's playing a more believable character now than he was thirty years ago as Bill or Ted.
YES!!! i love that movie, i laugh so hard every time i watch it, i find it more like a very dark comedy/action film
Just to let you know, this is a rare series of sequels that get better as they go. The first is special because of how we learn who he is and the world he lives in. The later movies just keep amping up the action with each new entry. Enjoy!
I respectfully disagree. I was a little disappointed in the 3rd movie. It was all action and very little story.
@@Anne.Pinkertonyeah, first was definitely best.
...and the best part is you have 3 more John Wick films to go. And my opinion is that they get better as you go.
I disagree with the 2nd one
Yeah but we get to see their reaction to Daisy in this one 😂😢😂
#3 is the best
Disagree. I think they get worse. Just more and more ridiculous and the last one was too the point it was boring.
Absolutely need to watch the other 3. They become more over the top but you understand more of the lore behind the Continental (and others) Hotel, and other parts of the organisation.
Fun fact: when John asked the guard if he lost weight, the guard was telling him how many bodyguards there were.
When John asked the doorman (Francis) about his weight, it was professional code for "how many armed men inside?", to which the big man replied "60 pounds". That meant there were 60 people inside that John had to deal with to get to his target. In return for the information courtesy John let him walk with a "Why don't you take the night off". It's a huge underworld they live in that gets more exposed in the later movies. See that scene again here: ruclips.net/video/8goQyjvcjdo/видео.html
the measurement was in kilograms and Francis says 27 kilograms(converts to 60lbs.), but there were 27 men inside
The underworld lore in these movies are awesome.
I didn't catch that the first time watching. Very subtle.
@@eolson1964 @doggeslife This is correct. John kills 28 men in the Red Circle. 26 goons, Josef's friend at the sink, and Josef's friend in the pool (muscle guy in a bathing suit, not the Red Circle suit attire). The one missing goon is the one who throws John over the balcony (Keanu's stunt double).
Another subtle code was with Jimmy the cop. “Noise complaint?” Not “gunshots” and I had to watch it several times before I noticed that when he spots the body Jimmy uses his hat to cover his body camera.
Welcome to the John Wick family! John Wick has become a very successful movie franchise. It's up to John Wick 4 now! This role has really put Keanu Reeves in a bona fine action movie star category! This role was made for him!! Glad y'all enjoyed it!
The Matrix Movies did that years ago...
@@SixballQ45 Nah, I disagree. John Wick brought Keanu to a WHOLE other action star level. I dare say, I think John Wick could take Neo on and win!
Oh man! You both are in for a treat with this franchise. Please do all of them.
Yes, all of the John Wick movies done so far are just as great!! Waiting on the next one that is on the way!❤❤ Glad you enjoyed the first one!❤
Yes, you have to watch the rest of them!! Also, for a young Keanu Reeves in a comedy check out Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure!!
And y'all have to watch Denzel Washington's movie Man on Fire! It is 🔥🔥🔥. Denzel, one of the best ever!
I love that you all are noticing the coloring in the movies and the film angles, and the and the music score of a movie. It's all so subtle but they can really enhance a movie. So happy you enjoyed this movie.
I prefer my own private Idaho over bill and Ted
Don't forget Parenthood
Oh man… Man on Fire rips your heart out, but so, so, so good.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw B + T. I thought it was going to be one of the super stupid, supposed to be funny movies. Nope.
Man on fire is outstanding! His character in the equalizer series is awesome too! But man on fire is based on a true story, which is crazy!!!!
Before this movie came out, it had many years since Keanu had any popular movie, let alone an action movie. He was focusing on his music career, and most people considered him a former, aging star. Then when the trailer came out, with him saying, "People keep asking if I'm back... and I'm thinking, 'Yeah, I'M BACK!'" That alone helped give the movie a big leg up.
If you want to see the movie that really made Keanu famous, check out "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure". It is funny, and educational. Keanu and his friend played California teens, and they became a voice for Generation X (late 80's version).
You two always do the best reviews. I knew Amber was going to cry when John's dog died and I knew that Jay was going to absolutely love this movie.
The puppy John rescued at the shelter by the paper work was scheduled to be put down so John saved it’s life, to top it all off the puppy is Keanu’ s actual dog in real life. Great reaction, though you did cut some iconic scenes. Each movie going forward gets better and the action keeps ramping up with each progressive one. Buckle up Buttercup!😎💕
This movie was a throwback to the golden era of action films. Nothing but non stop action in this one
3 also had non-stop action I felt the impact of the stuff in that one for some reason.
Do you realize these movies just get bigger and better as they go on! So good!!!
The training for the martial arts spans all methods..he even uses a couple fairly rare moves like a boss...🔥
The director of these movies was actually Keanu Reeves stunt double in the matrix first three movies. Thanks to the john wick movies Keanu Reeves is now classed as the best weapons trained actor in Hollywood. The actor who killed the dog actually felt so guilty he bought the dog and named him john as daisy was really a boy.
The scene where Keanu cries always breaks my heart as him and his fiance when he was younger were expecting a child which was sadly stillborn and due to this it put a lot of strain on their relationship and she said she needed some time apart to heal but sadly 18 months later tragedy struck again after they lost their child and she died in a car crash . He never truly recovered which is why for so long he stayed single but now he has a new love and its beautiful to finally see him happpy again.
It physically pains me when you refer to Willem Dafoe as "the guy from the funeral," or anything other than as his own name. His entire body of work is amazing, and you should see all of it, even if you choose not to react to it. He brings a level of depth to even the most minor of characters.
His character of Sgt Elias in Platoon is still one of his finest in my humble opinion...the angel on the platoons shoulder while Sgt Barnes is the devil on the other side of the shoulder...
@@ca99681st time I saw him was in Streets of Fire.
Loved him in Mississippi Burning
@@ca9968
At that point in time Platoon was the best movie I’d ever seen 👍
Killed it in Boondock Saints
Jimmy knows John. Jimmy made a business decision. Be like Jimmy.
You should also check out the "Equalizer" series with Denzel Washington and the "Taken" series with Liam Nesson! Both have great action! Also, "Man on Fire" with Denzel Washington!❤❤
I have yet to watch this movie's first 20 or so minutes, even in a reaction video, without tearing up. The first time I saw this, I saw it cold with NO IDEA what was going to happen. In the later movies, the dog thing sort of becomes a punchline, but in THIS one, it's just a gut punch.
Another great story with a great cast and lots of blood is "The Accountant".
Absolutely adored The Accountant. Great rec!
Alfie Allen, Iosef's actor, actually said it was incredibly hard to do that scene with the puppy cuz he grew really attached to it behind the scenes
Keanu has had a difficult personal life. Like Tom Cruise he performs many of the stunts himself. Yes he is professionally trained. He is known for being a very kind man and often seen in NYC riding our transit system. Each movie gets better in this series. It’s a ritual for me and my adult son to watch John Wick movies together.
Yes, it's even more incredible when you know how much he's gone through in his life. His best friend, actor River Phoenix, died of a drug overdose in 1993. Six years later, his girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, lost their baby, and then 18 months after that, Jennifer was killed in an auto accident. But Keanu is known for his philanthropy, which includes giving incredible gifts to the crew of his movies: for example, his stunt team on The Matrix all got Harleys; and his stunt team on John Wick 4 got $10,000 Rolex watches. Plus he has given away millions and millions to charities, saying he's embarrassed by his own fortune. And every fan who has ever run into him has said he was the nicest and most generous celebrity they've ever come across. We definitely need more human beings like Keanu.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOUVE WATCHED JOHN WICK?!?!? ooooh my God. You two are one of my favorite reaction channels!!! John wick is incredible! Ooooh I'm so excited. Love you both!!!
I'd heard that the actor that played Victor was so upset filming dog's death scene. So much so that in between takes, he would hug/pet the dog to relieve his anxiety
Guys, don't wait too long to do the rest of the series. It is fire!!!!! Amber, I believe his buddy may have been trying to take him out. He initially shot wild to warn him, because if she killed him, his buddy would not have gotten the money. Then his friendship won out over the money and he decided to try to protect him. Only the one who actually kills the target gets paid. I am not going to tell you guys anything specific about the other movies. I will just say this. You will see great action and an incredible group of actors in the other movies as well. Enjoy!! Oh hey Jay. That was mayhem from the commercials. really fine actor named Dean Winters. Has done quite a bit of TV shows and was a regular on a great (but rough) TV series called Oz. It took place in a prison. Was on from about 97 to 2003. Also the actor who plays his brother in that commercial is his real life brother who is also an actor.
Yes the actor is the Mayham guy . He also used to be a regular on Law and Order SVU in the early days .
Getting all emotional and cutesy about the puppy and everyone is thinking “ this is about to go dark guys “
Guys, it's time to watch "The Bodyguard" with Kevin Costner. You liked Whitney Houston's song "I have nothing" so much. Now it's time to evaluate the film itself (fragments of which were in the clip).
Moreover, the film is just wonderful. One of my all-time favorites. 😀
Yes!
I haven written so many times they should react to the Bodyguard 🙏🙏🙏
I love Keanu Reeves and the character of John Wick. I love that he went postal in response to the death of his wife's gift Daisy (poor puppy).
I knew when i saw you guys were reacting to John Wick that the dog scene would hurt you.
Keanu definitely trained so hard for this role and each movie just keeps gets better.
Welcome to the John Wick family ❤
Of course the scene was emotional
And the actor who played Iosef actually bought Daisy after the movie wrapped bc he was so sad too 😂😂😂
I love that Reeves adopted that dog from the end scene in real life!
YES!!!
LOVE THIS MOVIE!!
They messed with the wrong former assassin for hire in this action adventure thriller film!
The dog wasn't just a pet, it was supposed to represent John having a normal life, but when they killed the dog, they took away his one chance of happiness.
Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood, and Paul Newman were considered for the video role of John Wick back in the late 90's, early 2000's.
The dog might have represented all of that…but she was also a cute puppy that he loved and the @$$holes killed her. She meant more to him than representing a normal life or his dead wife…all of that. The proof is that he gets another dog at the end.
My inner John Wick would dream of doing the same thing to anyone who hurt my pets. Or any animal, in my presence. (Luckily, nobody ever has. I’d probably just call the cops and get myself killed trying to beat the perp up.)
Does anyone ever notice that after the puppy gets hit in the beginning, and John passes out, when he wakes up the puppy is next to John with a blood trail behind it? Meaning the dog crawled it’s way to John before it died.
You know, the guy who played Iosef is irl a nice guy, and he was so upset his character killed Daisy, that he reached out to her trainer on set and the director, and bought Daisy to himself😂😂
The way people hate him so much just proves how amazing the antagonist is, and how BADASS this move is
Alfie Allen is his name and is most famous for Game of Thrones, playing Theon Greyjoy.
" We use to braid each other's hair." LOL 😆 🤣 😂
It just gets better, I'm just surprised there's not more memes of John Wick getting hit by different cars 😂😂😂
Honestly didn't thing I could love Amber more until she said "for a car" Such a good heart!
The BEST action movie of the last 25 years, at least! Keanu did extensive firearms, and, jiu-jitsu training for this. He got his shooting & firearms handling training from Taran Butler of Taran Tactical, who has won numerous titles in a whole bunch of different disciplines of competitive shooting.
Loved this reaction and would love it if you guys would react to John Wick 2. Thanks for everything you guys do.
Damn this the highest dono I've seen in a comment. Only fitting it's on a John Wick vid
Great reaction. The John Wick franchise is possibly the greatest action movies ever.
LOL
I was actually bored through almost all of John Wick 4. You can only watch a guy do the same exact grapple-reload-shoot so many times before it loses its novelty.
@@RexFuturi Me too, it was a movie of how can we top the last set piece. It just got ridiculous and boring. JW 3 also isn't that good. The bourne trilogy is overall much better, but everyone remembers wick but the bourne movies have seemingly fell off a cliff.
@punkem7332
You can skip #3 and not loose too much.
@@punkem733The Bourne series has not aged well imho. Shakey cam/quick cut editing where the action is incomprehensible does not do it for me in this day and age. Plus, the John Wick series was also MUCH better from an all around cinematic stand point of view. Cinematography, editing, camera work, and especially the soundtracks were far superior in the Wick movies. The choreography (that can actually be seen) and the stylized gunplay was just the icing on an already well layered quality cake.
John didn't care that they took his car, he cared that they killed Daisy. She was the last thing Helen gave him. You can replace a car, you can't replace Daisy.
Also, her name is Daisy because daisies were Helen's favourite thing.
Excellent film, you will also love Reeves in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", "Speed", "Constantine", heck I even like him in "Johnny Mnemonic". Another awesome movie about a hitman was "Leon, The Professional" with the first performance of a young Natalie Portman. Jean Reno and Gary Oldman are also great in it.
All brilliant films, I don't think I've seen one of his I haven't loved, I even didn't mind him in Dracula
Speed was a good one, often overlooked.
John Wick is a movie about a man who loves his wife. That is the emotional center of this movie. All the sequels lack that.
Going out on a limb and strongly recommending the Swedish trilogy, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Michael Nyqvist (Russian head honcho here) is a wonderful co-star; next to Noomie Rapace, they’re awesome together.
The best version in my opinion.
Knowing this wholesome couple, it always amazes me the suggestions you give them.
You like watching them squirm don't ya , big meanies.
HAHAHA love it
I kept thinking how much Jay would enjoy the action but the opener was going to devastate Amber!
I wonder if they’ll see TLOU!
@@georgedominguez255 So good and so many tears - we would all be big meanies to encourage it! (pleasepleaseplease)
“With a f-ing pencil!” My favorite line! ❤😂😂
Omg I love this movie. Amber darling just keep reminding yourself that the puppy wasn’t really killed. That’s what I told myself. Over and over to get through that part. Lol 😢😂❤
DEFINITELY worth watching all four of them!!!!! The fourth one is my personal favorite, they’re all fantastic.
I like watching people watch John Wick for the first time. Great reactions!
This is a great series. Keanu Reeves is an amazing actor. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.
After the John Wick movies, ya'll need to watch these movies in this order, Unbreakable, Split, then Glass.
In my gaming group, when someone makes the wrong move. The comment at the table is "Oh, man. You just killed John Wick's dog".
For more action, be sure to check out Denzel Washington in Man On Fire and as The Equalizer. Also, Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher.
And Liam Neeson in Taken, or Ben Affleck in The Accountant or his ex-wife Jennifer Garner in Peppermint. All are similarly good movies in this genre.
Replace the Tom Cruise Reacher with the Amazon series. It's way better in my opinion
@@boomerotic2498 Agreed, but Tom Cruise’s Reacher is a good intro to the extended series. Enjoyed both the Amazon and movie franchises.
Tom Cruise was dreadfully miscast as Jack Reacher
@@lyndadowns4876 yup, but when you’re tom cruise, you can pay for the movies you wanna make. Clearly he wanted to be Jack Reacher-and he made a tasty mint for doing it. Like it or not.
There are YT videos of him training BJJ and training to shoot with the best comp shooter alive. Its amazing to see the dedication to his craft on every level. He really is this good in real life.
Wait until you see the next 3 in the series ! He went through so much training and choreography for the fight scenes. Any weapon and many different firms of martial arts. You will be blown away!
I just realized that guy who came to John Wicks home to clean up the the bodies is the same guy from the Warriors who killed Cyrus the head gang leader😮
So after John Wick....you need to watch Denzel Washington in the Equalizer! SO good.
Keanu Reeves is known to be one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, I can’t imagine anyone having beef with him.
But I feel sorry for anyone who tried to do anything to him. He has proven that he can actually do this stuff for real. Don’t mess with Keanu.
It really is 1 of the few franchises that gets better as it grows, so though I love the 1st 1, I love 2 more, and I honestly love 3&4 in a entirely different league than I do 1&2.
What makes John more dangerous is he has nothing left to lose.
This is a fantastic series. Can't wait to see you react to the rest.
Have a stressful weekend coming up, so this is a great treat to start it off right.
Enjoy your ride with this series! Each one gets better and better. The action, the coreography, how beautiful the sets are. This series is a love letter to action movies
Loved John Wick. Great reaction. You guys should check out The Equalizer too, with Denzel Washington. It's awesome.
I also hope they will check out The Equalizer, but I do want to see a reaction to Taken with Liam Neeson even more! Both of them would be great to look forward too.
This is one movie I could watch every day of my life over and over and not get bored. I hope you both will watch the series based on the hotel, "The Continental" although it won't be nearly as good with the passing of Lance Riddick (may he Rest In Peace I loved his character in the films.) The two directors of "John Wick" were two of the stunt men on "The Matrix" films Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, in fact Chad Stahelski was actually Keanu Reeve's stunt man in "The Matrix" movies. The special features in these movies are awesome! 😊
Jay, if you want an adrenaline packed, action packed, edge of your seat movie, then check out SPEED, released in 1994, co starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. Its one heck of a ride!! To give you and idea of how good it is, I was watching it in a theater in 94, when nature called and I bolted to the bathroom and as I was rushing along I ran into another guy doing the same thing, and we both laughed and commented how good the movie was and how we hated missing one second of it. I cant wait for your reaction!!
I was just going to suggest that one. They'd really like it & it changed Keanu from the goofy burnout character to a serious actor 👍
@@yepimheretoo2270 I agree, was a huge boost for his career.
And Alan Ruck--Cameron from Ferris Bueller--is also in it!
Speed !! Keeps you on the edge of your seat, sweating throughout
Love the John Wick franchise! But y'all also need to add "The Equalizer I & II", with Denzel Washington to your movie reaction list! Great reaction on this one! Thanks! ✌💙✌
I love Amber's honest reactions
I loved how about the only friend he had in the movie was paying his respects and you said it was "sketchy". That was hilarious.
I love your guys' reactions! JW 2, 3 and 4 are absolutely worth watching, they're amazing!
Fun Fact:
When John goes to the Club to kill the kid and starts with the bodyguard outside, He says, "You've lost weight" and Francis Replied "Over 60 pounds". This was actually a test AND a code between the two. John was testing him to see if he would help him (which is why he lets him go and tells him to take the night off) and Francis replies Over 60 pounds (or 27 kilograms), a code for nearly 27 security guys/henchman protecting the boy. This is also being used in the military forces around to world too. VERY cool way to again show us how much of a badass and how respected John Wick is. Also thee one thing I like about Keanu Reaves is the amount of effort he puts into a role. You can find videos of his training sessions for these movies where he spends countless time at a gun range training with all sorts of guns to the point where he knows how each gun he handles will behave IRL and will actually handle them accordingly for things like checking to ensure the weapons are not jammed. You will see him handle a pistol in the second John Wick movie where he will kinda toss the gun in his hand a little to press down on the chamber because the pistol he is using at that time is known for having bullets getting jammed and is checking the chamber to make sure it is clear enough to fire. Keanu also went through 4 months of training, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day to bring his character to life. He also went through Judo, Japanese Ju-Jutsu, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. So Keanu is that accurate and deadly in real life. You can find a few videos of his trainings with a company known as Taran Tactical. Keanu also had help from former Navy SEAL and CIA Contractor Shawn Ryan.
It was so much fun watching you both watch this for the first time. You're going to love the sequels :)
Fun fact:The guy who threw Keanu down from the balcony at the disco is the same actor who played the agent in The Matrix 2, and the actor who plays the doctor in the John Wick series is the same actor who played Keymaker in The Matrix 2
Another flick you guys would really enjoy, and has both fantastic gunplay and an amazing story is "Equilibrium" (2002), starring Christian Bale (of Dark Knight fame), Taye Diggs (of The Best Man, and Brown Sugar), and Sean Bean (of Game of Thrones, and Silent Hill). This movie is amazing! One of my all time favorites movies.
“There I was dressed in all black, hit the block Handel my business” Kane and Abel! From the 90’s! 😂
I’m so glad y’all have gotten in to John Wick. Such a great series.
