Great demo Jean! I just recently started using a clapper and it’s a real game changer for crisp seams. I like your big square one. I have one that Corey Yoder showed about a month ago that has a “bump” down the middle for pressing seams open…makes it sew much easier! My husband also made me a nice chunky one. Thank you for your tips!

Hi Mary and thank you for watching and commenting. Clappers really are a great aide when it comes to nice crisp flat seams. Have been wanting the bigger one for quite awhile and so happy to have it. Yes, I have seen the one you are describing and it is used for pressing those seams open. On my list, LOL

Thank you Jean. I'm the one that asked about the clapper. I think I need that. Your seams are amazing. I appreciate the demo.

Hello Debbie, I'm glad that you found the demonstration for you helpful and I know you will love the clappers whatever size you are ale to get. They make such a difference in pressing our blocks. Thanks again for your initial question as to what they were.

I use a wooden cutting board that I purchased from Sams years ago. It is heavy, big, and I place my entire block under it overnight.

@@JeanKeptInStitches yes, I have clappers (made them out of some board scraps my husband had in his shop…lol) now, I am going to make the large clappers. I often thought about how nice a larger one would be on full blocks… why didn’t I make it before now! Lol! Great idea!

I was thinking the same Sara, but with the price of good wood these days and the bargain I felt this one was I doubt my husband could have made it for that price?? I do love them.

I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of the shop that I purchased mine from and forgot to keep the receipt or I'd share it with you. You can find them on Amazon. I love both of mine and use them all the time. Thank you for your comment and for watching Janet.
