- It’s not a rat rod, nor a drift truck, nor is it a full-time road racer. It’s Old Smokey, the 1949 Ford F1 pickup that was conceived and built by Scott Birdsall the owner of Chuckles Garage in Santa Rosa, California. And while some may say that putting a 5.9L Cummins diesel with compound turbochargers in a truck is insane, to Birdsall it seem only fitting- especially when you want to go 200 mph in the measured mile.

This is the baddest truck I have ever seen in my life. Gave me goosebumps watching. I have seen thousands of customs over the years. This thing oozes soul and personality like no other. And it's just down right fucking MEAN like an old truck should be. That old school look mated with the meaness of the upgrades is insane.
I'm building a mini truck but similar to your platform question on what coilover brand did you use and has it been corner balance? I'm down here in LA mostly running my truck in the canyons for now lol

Ive seen thousands of custom trucks/hot rods, race cars, etc/ THis is by far the most bad ass triuck I have ever seen. Goosebump inducing awesome

This truck has inspired me to try to take my grandmother's desk into low earth orbit. Both of these projects will make as much sense and inspire as much awe in onlookers

The House Of Muscle I struggled with even saying anything. We all hate those keyboard warriors whose "moms old tiburon would totally destroy that thing! (Slurps monster) mostly cause it won't hook, which is why the tiburon being fwd makes it perfect for any motorsport! (Brushes takis dust on 'beast mode' shirt) the engine is right over the drive wheels! and with the automatic trans you can't miss a gear!!! Oh I can't wait until I turn 16! (Long drag on 19yo uncles old vape pen) gonna get...so much...asss... " You know the drill. I just figured Mike could take a little ball bustin' for committing diesel sin! My great grandfather bought one new and used it for many years and passed it down to my grandfather, then he passed it down to my uncle and it is still in great condition and drives great
I can really appreciate the time put into that chassis. I'll be looking for more of his builds.

When I went to pike's peak 2 years ago - that guy who races the tractor/semi up pike's peak had his truck out there at the party before the race, fuckin tri-compounds turbos with like 5000ft-lbs tq. or some off-the-chart shit like that, pure fucking insanity. Talk about beast mode!

Jesse Poole it's compound not twin. Drastic difference.
No it would be twin turbo because there are two turbos but a compound set up
clell burdiss twin turbo and compound are complete different set ups. Yes they both have 2 turbos but they are used differently. Twin turbo and compound boost are not interchangeable terms.
The only time not using "compound" is acceptable is when you are using a triple, which is still a compound
My cousin works there and has helped build this truck. It's pretty awesome.

Donuts and drifting are fun and all, just not too impressive since you can do the same thing in a 200hp v6 mustang. I wanna see what that 1800hp can do lol.

There is almost an identical build truck here in Denver literally very little difference. And the one here is waaay nicer, the dude clear coated over the rusty lookin body so its super shiny and the interior is way nicer in the one here in Denver.

Want to know what to call it? The most expensive bargain ever! Me, should I ever get a hold of a straight F1 truck, I'd throw a monster diesel in it too, though I plan to make mine mid-engine =) Toss the intercooler under the hood for good measure with some crazy air scoop and hood relief cuts.
Edit: Oooh, thought of a good line for this truck: Putting the fun back in F1. I'll also accept royalties if ya make a bumper sticker.
