The thousands of NSFW Playlists that plagued kid related content on RUclips seemed to have disappeared, leaving people confused. However, I have all the information necessary to understanding this rabbit hole and have been lucky enough to solve this discrepancy. The Days of Spiderman and Elsa are over. Hearing this was like a breath of relief for me. It's like this sense of finally getting revenge on the things my sister was exposed to online as a child, the things all kids her age were exposed to.
I'm relieved action is being taken now, that something is finally happening about this! Hopefully, something like this won't happen again.

It was common in early RUclips to have Photos of Women that wasnt realated to video for Thumbnails for views until they tried to stop it so im not suprised.

In my theory, the main reason for Elsagate in the first place was not to indoctrinate children (this may have been an outcome of it, but I don't think it was the initial plan) but rather to make topics about violence and sex, things that children think is taboo for their age, and thus it will make them curious to see "forbidden knowledge".
This is why it has popular kids characters combined with the NSFW content, to both use the kids content to appeal to kids, and both the NSFW content to grab their attention into something that they know they shouldn't be looking at (and because they are kids, they really shouldn't be looking at this, but they don't yet understand why they shouldn't be looking at this) and this activates their curiosity.
Oh absolutely. As a kiddo, I had this crippling obsession to act and appear “mature.” I’m the firstborn of my immediate family, as well as my larger than average extended family. It didn’t help that I was born to younger parents that were raised in a generation that didn’t get access to the Internet until their late teens/early adulthood.
I often got a lot of “oh wow so mature for your age” comments. And I felt proud of this at the time.
The reality of it, I didn’t really experience the joy and ignorance of just being able to be a silly kid. I was stoic, because if I acted out I felt like I was a disappointment. I put too much on myself to be what I thought was “mature for my age.”
It was also appealing to me, but for all the wrong reasons. Being more “mature” than others also led me to think I was “better” than others. That I was more “advanced.” It was like a reinforcement loop to crave adult content because my underdeveloped mind sought that out as “mature,” justifying it that way because “oh well that’s considered adult content.”
I had a rough childhood, rough early adulthood like seriously been through it for more than just what I mentioned above. I’m fortunate that I have help nowadays.
All we can really do as an older generation to spearhead this technology age is to be aware and adapt as necessary.
As for the content I got into as a kid that had unsupervised access to the Internet? I got access to a lot of sick stuff, sometimes on RUclips sometimes not. I vaguely remember inappropriate Rated-R (sometimes M) flash games, RUclips videos that featured alcohol consumption and people throwing darts at each other, videos of medieval aged devices used to cause pain… etc. This was all before I really started talking to other people online so as you can imagine it got worse with that.
Of course, the exposure to that type of content was probably limited back then. To have disgusting content blasted all about in an easy-to-access manner is disturbingly irresponsible.

@@anqareliouth2921 Oh absolutely. My personal struggles through the awful childhood I endured attest to this. I am okay now, but I am actively working on myself with intention to maintain a healthy level of personal mental health.
I’m not religious (not saying you are), yet I agree. I don’t think it’s all that beneficial to show children these things, unless you have an agenda. I think it’s affecting children’s sexuality, too. Growing up seeing this shit might make you grow up believing you are something that you never were. It’s also probably a cause of psychological issues and mental illness.

I will say I am unfortunately a victim of Elsagate, but specifically the things I was subjected to was related to pokemon. I'm now stuck with a fetish and I hate it, I wish that I could go back and stop myself from watching the things I did. I was just a young kid who had a love for pokemon, It shouldn't have had that happen to me, but it did. I feel awful for anyone who was a victim of Elsagate in whatever form it was for them.
Mine wasn't specifically elsagate, but I was a huge sonic fan as a kid. But one day I stumbled upon fetishy content made of sonic characters, mind you I was 7 at the time. I ended up developing a fetish from watching all that, but it has died down recently.
..but on the other hand, there's still fetish content that's easily accessible on youtube. Type up anything relating to alien pregnancy and you'll get a bunch of playlists of fetish videos, especially ones surrounding pregnancy and belly play. Those videos got recommended to me at a young age, im not really proud of finding them. It goes to show how easy it was to find these types of videos, and they've been up for years.

But I'm honestly so happy that it did, and that youtube is also taking action now! I hope that the other parts of elsagate get struck too, because a lot of cleaning is still required on youtube for it to be gone. Thanks for keeping us informed :D

I was a victim of the peak of elsagate, I was a simple kid who just liked mlp, pokemon and frozen and I fell into a hell that shouldn't of even been to my access. it's shocking how easy this fetishy content is so easy for a kid to stumble upon, I have kinks I really wish I didn't at my age. sucks even more that now a new gen of kids are gonna fall to the same things I did
As someone who knew about Elsagate back then and tried to warn adults about it when they thought that the Momo hoax(the WhatsApp japanese statue thing) was thought to be a RUclips problem by the adults I knew, while they turned a blind eye to the actual stuff going on with RUclips at that point was infuriating. Knowing that this issue is back and isn't a widespread issue is just a cruel reminder, but at least we're seeing progress in fixing this.
I'm glad to hear this. I was pretty shocked when I was looking up old Nickelodeon cartoons and kept finding some very NSFW thumbnails and playlists.
My mom and younger brother are teachers and often when there's nothing to do and they have to watch the younger grades (Kindergarten through 1st Grade) they like to find videos of cartoons to play for the kids. I told them about this playlist thing, and thank God they never had the same issue as me.
They reassured me that they don't show on the projector whatever is on their computer before showing the cartoons, but this would have ended badly over something no child that age should be exposed to...
This goes deeper than I thought. Especially since I am a child of the internet as a kid I used to watch full episode content and sometimes see these videos. one of the most major ones in the early years of RUclips was Sonic nsfw content and I used to be a huge sonic fan and some times see this stuff and I was confused by it. Now I realize what I had saw I’m glad these playlist are getting shot down and I hope the word gets spread more. Thank you

Elsagate was never gone. Around 2020 in mid lockdown. My 6 year old sister wanted to watch some cartoons and so i looked up "peppa pig full episodes English" and i played the first playlist i found. When she fell asleep i went to take her iPad and charge it and then on the screen was fully uncercored a guy shagging a pig. Playlist end on for hours. She watched every second of it. Now i never let her use youtube

Finally it's solved. Thank you for reminding me before about elsagate, it helped me delete the youtube of my baby cousin's iPad. Thank god you showed me, you just saved her entire future mental health.
What gets me is majority of those videos are for "RUclips Kids." Due to COPPA, wouldn't RUclips have been taken down?
They could of had been rerated for for Adults then You Tube Kids never shows them or looks for them. The ai that tried to make stuff RUclips Kids by the Name of the Video of the Thumbnail hit alot of vids not suitable foir kids too though.
It's scary how these playlists are still up. Out of curiosity I've just googled Hey Arnold full episodes and I've found ones filled with videos like one man one jar and the mexican chainsaw video. Purely disgusting.

So glad the disturbing playlists were taken down although a bit scummy on RUclips’s part for age restricting your video as it was highly informational and educating on these playlists. But I’m glad RUclips put an end to this, it’s something that was necessary.
So sorry that RUclips got to you and made you release this video. The link between the NSFW videos and the Vietnamese tech videos may be "solved", but the existence of so many weird and violent cartoon videos has yet to be explained. While I don't buy the predator theory, I do believe there are people at RUclips allowing this content to continue for ad revenue, and I also believe they are doing all they can to keep the door shut on it.
When I was younger, I saw a Elsa and Spiderman video. Elsa was pregnant and had a baby, but the baby was Chucky from the Child's play movies, and it killed them both. Fr wtf was Elsagate😭

The fact that this crap isn't the work of predators, but is just the work of some indifferent, selfish people looking to farm ad revenue is almost worse in a way. Someone decided grifting money out of RUclips for some passive income just for millions of kids to be exposed to cornography is disgusting and I honestly believe it should come with serious _legal_ reprecussions for the person in question. This is exactly the kind of stuff that international law should prevent but doesn't, because international organizations are about as useful as RUclips is.

That isn't just another Elsagate Content Farm channel utilizing Poppy Playtime as their main source of revenue. *THAT IS STRAIGHT UP THE DEVELOPERS OF POPPY PLAYTIME THEMSELVES USING THEIR OWN CHARACTERS IN THEIR OWN CONTENT FARM.*

Im surprised I never stumbled over this before. Im from Germany so we donr get many cartoons here, so I obviously searched up stuff like "chowder full episodes" or "flapjack full episodes" as a kid. I guess im lucky I never stumbled over that stuff

An underrepresented section of elsagate-style videos is the monster school Minecraft animations where all the characters in the thumbnails are all pregnant and bleeding or dead and crying and pooping and giving birth etc, as well as the obvious granny poppy playtime crossovers in them as well

As for your video getting restricted: The captions were still able to pick up some censored words. IE you may chop out *part* of the word "pornography," but the system will still detect this. You can tell because that's what the automatic captions say.

I remember watching some of the original elsagate videos back in 2016/2017 and tbh, I should not have seen some of that stuff at such a young age. i believe that this explanation is the right one, when i was trying to search all of this i find a 1-2 second video with a soft p*rn in the thumbnail and after that i got a video on a random vietnamese singer or a tech video. theres another method for this exploit and that method is basiclly just clickbait, in the first half of the video or in the beginning they will show the thing you are looking for and after that it will just be an art and craft video or some other random content.
There is inappropriate ads on RUclips with inappropriate characters my little cousin (9) keeps getting these pop ups on RUclips

Views, that’s it. Basically your typical clickbait to mislead and draw in more viewers, expect instead of bright flashy thumbnails it was p*rn thumbnails.
People were farming views/money by making playlists with a mix of short nsfw videos and the longer videos that they were trying to promote. They made these playlists so that autoplay would force people who watched the short video to watch the intended video.
I don't know if you'll see this, but there's a group of channels (oppai sama) and a few others they post uncensored hentai on their community tabs and I have reported their channels several times and nothing has happened. It gets worse because they moved on to animal and loli type stuff.
A few weeks ago I was terrorized by NSFW content. So it goes like this I was searching Minecraft addons on RUclips now when I searched up those addons there are some videos that match up with my search but between those videos there are some you've guessed it inappropriate content.
And worst of all its not only that search even result almost every search I make there's a slim chance that those videos will show up. Seriously I have no idea why RUclips reccomends me this stuff I never watch that stuff and I want you to continue the fight #ElsagateIsback

I remember my brother would play full Amazing world of gumball videos on his phone for me when i was like 8 or 7, im so glad to never have ran into these goddamn playlists, and im glad people are trying to stop it and are slowly but surely succeeding. I wasn’t a victim of Elsagate, I was a bit too old for it. But I will say that nsfw content has a profound impact on children and it’s kind of wrecked my life. It started at maybe 6 for me.
