I'm a 14 year old but Slash has been my inspiration ever since I started guitar. When I feel down, I listen to guns n roses and I've been to every guns n roses concert I could get to, I've gotten a Les Paul because of Slash and he's pretty much my everything.
I was in the same exact place when I was 14, except that I haven't been to any GnR concerts. I still do have the Les Paul and listen/jam to Slash.

2020 and I'm just discovering this song and I'm old enough to have heard this when it came out but somehow didnt.. I been missing out... such a timeless song.
I dunno which it is but either Slash has a gift for picking the perfect vocalist for each of his songs or he can play a very fitting song in so many different veins with very different singers. I really tip my hat to ya man. That's a REAL musician there.

WOW, I am a 32 year old man & have ALWAYS LOVED Slashes guitar work, when I saw this I began to CRY! It is SUCH a BEAUTIFUL SONG & Adam Levines voice on this was SPOT ON PERFECT for the emotional take on feeling like a broken teen who felt the need to run away from Their life's problems! BRAVO

I love how the whole "Slash" album mixes Slash style with the indivual style of each singer... In the Ozzy Osbourn song, its dark and mysterious (like Ozzy is) but still is intense and pasionated... In this song you can totally tell its Slash's style mixed with a bit of Maroon 5's sound.

That's true, I believe Slash wrote the songs with the singers in mind, who then arrived and wrote lyrics (although I think Slash helped with the lyrics on a few songs)

Anastasia is what got me into Slash, and by extention, rock music as whole. Still my favourite song, and the first song I learned all the way through my Les Paul (which I bought because I wanted to learn that song)

That Cello... just pure perfection, if you wanted to weave a carpet of emotion, you archived it man. I can't help myself, but flow and lose myself in the rhythm and melody, I'm truly amazed every time, even after all those years, since the album was released. I was instantly in love with it and still am.

Definitely not the greatest, but I'm glad to see young girls liking this music style, most of teenagers now only listen to the latest non musical "porn" music videos, and think they're the coolest when listening to the newest beats that get old in a boring way in few months.
Speaking for myself I feel the same. I grew up listening to him and so when I think the greatest he is the first that comes ot my mind. Strictly my opinion though.
