Proclaimers - 500 Miles ist unorginal either and the world loves it.
I just get the feeling for myself I lost connection to what DnB is supposed to be.
There are so heavy and unecessary grunds, effects, dubs and drops that I don´t understand. It more like flashing one on really "flashing" effects. The vibe or song is not for dancing or the "losing yourself in the music and movement" it´s like "Hey take my music and flash yourself on drugs - wooooooooh - did you fell dat Bass Drop - DID YOU FEEL IT O.O".
Example in this song:
It starts so good, slow, with effects in mid and high - it speeds up and right at the point where you are supposed to dance with your whole body Metrik drops out the highs and mids and puts in a really slow, overheavy Dub Grind in the low section with no mids and highs at all. (0:44)
And thats not losing yourself in music, thats getting interrupted while doing so to pay attention to a ridiculous effect - it´s like a drug flash. And the last DnB Partys I went to where just the same - a lot of drugs, a lot of flashing people and no real extacy - and a DJ that of course serves what the crowd wants - getting superficially flashed by electric effects. XD
Same History with good old german techno - once a movement - now simply made for drug abusing. (If someone wants to tell me thats not true - XD - I´m down with the clubs security personel - so I see what clients are going to the partys - drug kids/drug abusers because this music doens´t make you dance with no drugs anymore XD In earlier times I had to take drugs to get DOWN from DnB, not getting on to it)

+asdfghjkl9493492 Metrik is a pretty shitty producer in my opinion. His last album was garbage - now he's just jumped on the Dimension sounds bandwagon. Dimension is a better producer though.
+TomHarrison999 Goes to show that you probably know nothing about producing DnB. Recently in a article on UKF many producers were asked who they think makes the best snare drums and ShockOne for insance praised metrik for his amazing productions.It's pretty easy to find other interviews with DJs praising metrik for his production skills. You may not like his album, that is completely fine. But you can almost objectively say that he is an amazingly talented producer.
