i'm a war thunder vet of almost 10 years, didn't really care to play top tier because i enjoyed playing the wwii stuff so much more. My buddy finally convinced me to play top tier with him and I had no idea what i was doing lol My keybinds were all over the place, i couldn't remember what keys i had set to lock for my sidewinders and ended up just getting killed over and over again. Though it was fun, i figure i'd have MORE fun if i knew how to lock targets. Thank you for the guide!
Gaijin really need a biiig cleanup on the keybind menu. It's a complete mess if you're remotely trying to control more than a single type and era of vehicle.
@@chronozeta for most players, it will take some time to learn whats needed and whats not, and which keybinds can be assigned to same buttons. Sure it is possible with some time and effort, but Gaijin should still clean up the settings to make it easier.

What I don't get is how people get their planes to fly so nimbly in Air RB. I've seen videos and I can't replicate it even with the same plane. My planes all wobble and sway through the air like a giant kite with no precision at all. I've looked at my settings and can't figure it out.

I watch this video because I had my keybinds to how I liked them but then I connected my joystick and it messed everything up and now my throttle only goes up to 47
Uh i have a similar radar setup but on just my mouse, also got weapon lock, flares nozzle tilt wing sweep n stuff on it Yes my mouse has a 12 key setup om the side lol

I dont understand why you have the radar keys to the same setting as your switch weapon keys? how do you know you'll havbe the right weapon selected when switching radar types?
I played WT nearly since start. Never bothered with top tier jets because you need to use the entire keyboard for the big loadouts. Extremely poor design. You use more buttons in this game than you do in an actual fighter jet. IF they just had proper mouse-wheel support in the game it would be entirely diffrent.
Its more difficult considering there aren’t many buttons on the controller, therefore you’ll need to combine multiple buttons together in order to function a certain setting
Legitimately why the fuck is there no key binds set when you first load the game. Why even fucking have keyboard and mouse on console if its gonna be this god damn jank

Turn off "Instructor" in Controls.

One thing he doesn’t tell you at all is put your throttle to your scroll wheel so you can have full control of your aircraft even when looking back

I have 900 hours in war thunder, average like 9 kills a game, and am just getting my first jets, and have never once touched my keybindings

I just have periodic flare drop on num-6 and I use that when I am in fur-balls.

you have joystick controls on you need to switch to pointer or mouse aim (the latter is console settings)

Its called Mouse Button 5 it is often on the left side of the mouse as a extra button. Also it could say mb5 on the button if ur unsure.

the number keys for the radar are on the keyboard above the letters, the switch key for weapons is on the numpad.
