James Mitchell is still AMAZING on the mic. Criminally underrated manager who has always delivered A grade promos consistently. Although, I feel his talents are being wasted on Abyss in his current state.
I KNOW he can get back into feasible shape and can be truly be a monster to be feared again, but all I see when I look at him now is Joseph Park in a mask; which is bad because they're supposed to be portrayed as two completely different entities but I just don't see Abyss when I look at him now.
IMPACT really needs to give him around 6 months+ off, get him back into shape, grow his hair out (If Taker can do it, he can do it too), bring James Mitchell back full time and you WILL have gold. I really want to see the REAL monster return before he retires.

LJ54 - what are you smoking? He's right up there with people like Paul Bearer, Jimmy Hart, etc. The only two people I'd say completely outclass him are Paul Heyman and Bobby Heenan, mostly because they're in two completely separate classes of their own. Heyman is a god on the mic. He can get you excited about anything. Heenan was simply the best heel manager in history. Conniving, backstabbing, malicious, and absolutely hilarious. When he went to commentary he became the single greatest color commentator in history, bar none.
Other than those two, I'd say James Mitchell shares that highest tier with the legends.

I disagree. The whole Joseph Park/Chris Park thing has been great. His full name is Christopher Joseph Park, so it has even more grounding in reality that he switches personas to one that has his "other" real name.
I agree Joseph Park becoming a character has drained life out of the abyss character much like in wwe when they made Kane corporate it drained life out of the character and didn't have the same impact (no pun intended) when he put the mask back on

We all know that. That's the POINT. Christopher Joseph Park (also his real name), as the TNA character, suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder. When he's Christopher, he's Abyss. When he's Joseph, he's a normal guy. The original storyline was all about finding his "brother" Chris when everyone clearly knew, but didn't dare say, that he was Chris. You don't poke the bear.
Jimmy Jacobs poked the bear. THAT'S THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE STORYLINE. Get with it.

I feel a better move would have been Jimmy Jacobs taunting everyone claiming that he knows what he must do to get Abyss. Pulls off a hood of the man he has tied to a chair. It's James Mitchell. Jacobs gives Abyss one more chance to come out before he unleashes Kong on Mitchell. No response.
Mitchell looks terrified. When Jacobs makes the decision to sic Kong on Mitchell, Mitchell begins to laugh hysterically. Jacobs is confused and asks him whats so funny.
Mitchell replies "Hes here!" in a creepy maniacal voice. Lights go out, when they come back on Abyss is in the ring and they brawl like they finished here.
As a fan the way it was done didnt seem like it genuinely meant anything that Abyss just comes out with no real pageantry or anything to say "This is the big moment youve waited for"

I've said before, at the risk of getting decimated by comments, that I have been greatly underwhelmed with Abyss. He always looks so clumsy. Tonight was the best I've seen him move in the ring...still clumsy though.

Kongo Kong is just TNA"s weak version of Umaga
The wild savage gimmick was a thing in wrestling way before Umaga. Look at the Wild Samoans or Kamala. It's one of the oldest gimmicks in wrestling.
Not to mention Papa Shango, The Boogeyman, even Tony Atlas had a (sad) stint as Saba Simba. Umaga was definitely the best version of this gimmick, but he was far from the original.
