Lots of folks do not want the hassles of autoloaders, jams, mags, round in the chamber, out of battery, the overall greater problems and complex manual of arms. Revolvers are simple in operation if not function where they are complex and the big downside that always comes up is capacity. Well a shooter can have all the capacity in the world and it won't do any good if the shooter is not competent in accuracy whether autoloader or revolver. Capacity can't make up for poor marksmanship. Not only that but we are responsible for every round that leaves our gun as there is a lawyer attached to every bullet whether autoloader or revolver. Fortunately for most real world shooting cases only two to three rounds are needed to stop a threat as proven by Greg Ellifritz shooting data. Yes we should use every bit of capacity we have until the threat to our lives is stopped. That is why we have reloads both for autoloaders and revolvers.
One well aimed 44mag =18 poorly placed 9mm. You don't need all those rounds, Matt.
10mm ammo costs the same as.38 special but has over 2x the horsepower
Cost isn't really the same though...
Both are running 10 to 13 beans per round more than 9mm, but 10mm is 2x the delivered package as 38 special. Even 9mm defeats 38 for significantly less cost. There's just no argument for revolvers other than the novelty of carrying a limited capacity artifact around.
@@docktaphil full 10mm rounds are way more expensive vs 38spec
@@docktaphillies the 9mm does not beat the 38 no other caliber other then 38 cal move on average 200 fps slower then a 9mm and the 9mm still have a hard time doing better 😂😂😂😂😂
I'll go along, as long as your semiauto is a 1911.😊
Too old. Too bulky.
2 World Wars!
Watching this while pocket carrying a S&W 442.
I usually carry a semi-auto, but when I'm going to short trips (corner store) or I'm just wearing shorts or clothes that don't favor concealed carry, I pocket carry a snub-nose.
A Hellcat Pro is the same size with 16rds.
@@docktaphil No, the 442 is definitely smaller. Since you opened with a lie, I'm gonna consider this the end of the conversation.
Man, it's not smaller by much. Calm down there, was he really "lying"@@Saku19 ?
@@docktaphil first things first, fuck Springfield, secondly as someone who also carries a 442, even if a sub-compact pistol can fit in the same height x length box, the 442 (which is hammerless) will always be more comfortable to carry and draw since the beavertail and the back of the slide on a pistol add bulk and cause an awkward angle for a pocket draw. I tried pocket carrying my S&W Shield and even though it was the same general dimensions, the draw was completely impractical due to the beavertail
I still haven’t gotten a holster for my 360 revolver. For self defense I’m good with 5
357 magnum rounds if it’s up close.
You and Yankee should debate it love on his livestream. He would get a kick out of the drama
Yankees, main arguments as to why he prefers a revolver over a semi auto is that revolvers tend to have more powerful calibers that have a better time punching through hard barriers, and they also tend to be more reliable, since there are less moving parts.
That argument was lost as soon as the sentence started with ‘Yankee’ 😂😂😂😂
yankee is an abject maroon. 99% of the time you don't want to be punching through any barriers. 9mm speer gold dot does the job. reliability argument is debunked already. glocks have less moving parts than the typical revolver. revolvers have tons of small parts too. anyone who still argues in favor of 1911 or revolvers is a typical boomer ree ree who thinks he's going to be figting bears in the middle of the city.
@@x.adam1 How so? It made sense to me.
Accessories: Red dot, light, laser, adjustable grip size, magazines greater than standard capacity, wide choice of iron sights
Revolvers are:
1. Better at handling big calibers. Stopping power matters.
2. Simpler to operate.
3. Jam less often.
4. I think better looking.
5. In California there is a 10 round magazine limit. So if your talking a 7 or 8 round revolver vs 10 rounds from a semi auto, the capacity argument shrinks.
6. If your committing a crime (not recommending it) no shells left on the ground.
Revolvers are still modern enough to be tacticalized and hold magnum sized calibers for large mamals and/or AI drones semi-autos cant shoot ;)
Totally agree. Especially striker fired. Great content.
Y tf is this still a thing? Revolvers are obsolete. No doubt about it.
In grappling situation have the revolvers a advantage !
I have both. So there.
I think it depends on the circumstances and intended use of the weapon. Though there is overlap, no one gun or type of gun is ideal for every situation.
a glock or m&p takes care of 99% of most people's gun needs. revolvers and clowns who advocate them for various contrarian and or social approval reasons is a joke in the modern age. it's like carrying a 1911 instead of a glock type because muh metal gun muh two world wars. absolute irrational imbecilia
Thank you NEA, great advice. Especially for the casual like me who:
-- Won't practice as much
-- Worries about capacity in a defensive gun use situation
Yankee Marshall also highlights that revolvers can come in "bear repellant" cartridges, which is fantastic for his property but not necessarily necessary for this suburban boy. Must admit, revolvers look much better to me. Maybe one day, with more brass in pocket, I'll get that sweet S&W .357 (and know I have enough to pay for that revolver gunsmith!)
Love that you can call out a friend and worried about losing that friendship. #spanktheyank 😂😂😂😂
Lol.
I think the only area where a revolver excels is being able to be chambered in powerful cartridges like 500 mag or 454 casull
🤔🤔🤔
Would be better if you were holding an 8 shot 357 instead of a 5 shot revolver.
It would be, but also much bigger and heavier.
Two superstars together again!
As someone who daily carries a J frame, I know full well that a revolver is an objectively better tool. That said, the reason I make the choice to carry a revolver is that I am a big guy, I've experimented with all the kinds of carry options I am comfortable with (just can't bring myself to try appendix) and have the drawer of holsters like everyone else to show for it. The only method that I know I can and will reliably carry daily is in my pocket. That choice made, I've tried both my S&W Shield and my S&W 442 J frame, and the J frame is the better choice for me. I know what I am giving up, but I also know that while 15 or even 10 is better than 5, 5 is also a lot better than zero.
objective better aka your pea brain can't fathom how 17 rounds might be better for multiple attackers than a 5 shots revolver PLUS speedloaders lol.
Also that 5 will never jam on you.
Objectively my ass.
@@TheMrPeteChannel Very true... My thought is that a revolver will get you more reliably to that first or second crucial shot than a semi-auto - which could jam. A lot could happen during the 2-3 seconds that it takes to clear the jam with a semi-auto; critical time is lost.
Go on slap the yank with this topic. :-)
Still think the escape from la vs escape from New York would have been a better video
It would have been 5 seconds long. “Escape From New York is wayyyyyyy better.” End of video.
Take a revolver to a three day handgun class where you dump a thousand rounds and you will never want to look at one again. Revolver probably wouldn’t run a thousand rounds anyway before failing catastrophically.
What🤔
Lol.

“Hold my beer.”
@@Hakunamatata51101 Ruger’s beer just so happens to be a Bud Light because Ruger is gay.
You have no idea what you're talking about, People have revolvers that have shot hundreds of thousands of rounds through them with no issues..
Semi auto for the streets and revolver for the woods.
Revolvers vs. Semi Auto...the best option? A German Shepherd.
Flame war...EENNNGGAAGED
Revolvers don't jam. And unless you have a blow back semi you can jam a Revolver into a person & don't need to worry about a slide snagging clothing if you fire.
In grappling situation the revolvers have most likely a advantage!
Idk...its hard to beat my ruger lcrx for a carry gun
have revolvers can fire 357 mag, 38 special AND 9mm, also have revolver that can fire 460, 45 Raptor, 454, 45 win mag, 45 colt, 45 schofield, 45acp, 45 gap and 45 auto rim. you won't find a semi auto capable of firing different types of ammo also a revolver won't malfunction firing old or weaker loaded ammo.
Well well, look who just lost his BFF.
Hell yea Matt! you are the man brother!
I'll take a Glock any day of the week over a revolver. More ammo and extra magazines to keep going
The trained Revolver man has won many gun fights over the Semi auto guy.
Semi auto polymer pistol. No doubt
They still make revolvers? 😊
Hahahaha!!! Slap!
What did the five fingers say to the face?
Slap the Yank???
Semi auto is best shit on earth!!!!!
BOOOOO!!!!!!
Oh I love my semi autos. I would never give them up. But what are you smoking today? Revolvers come out on top every time
