  • Catch scull is a swim drill for swimmers practicing their catch or anyone with limited shoulder mobility. This is a unique drill done by simulating the catch phase of your stroke with alternating arms. Same as any practice, deliberate intention is the main goal.

Hi Miguel. Can you do a video on how adult onset swimmers can improve their mobility? My ankles and my shoulders don’t move the way yours do!

Hi Morgan- it’s definitely a challenge and takes many years of doing things a certain way. Getting in the water as often as possible helps progress the mobility adaptations. Kick with fins for a few minutes during warmup to stretch out the ankles. This video is a great drill for shoulder mobility. Just keep getting your shoulders and elbows up higher every time you do it. Band work out of the water helps too!
