Lounge is the unofficial ranking system for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! When you wish to compete, you will play against other players of similar match-making rating (MMR). Depending on your MMR, you will place in one of the numerous ranks in Lounge:
Iron 1: 0-999 MMR
Iron 2: 1000-1999 MMR (Placement: 1500)
Bronze 1: 2000-2999 MMR (Placement: 2500)
Bronze 2: 3000-3999 MMR (Placement: 3500)
Silver 1: 4000-4999 MMR (Placement: 4500)
Silver 2: 5000-5999 MMR
Gold 1: 6000-6999 MMR
Gold 2: 7000-7999 MMR
Platinum 1: 8000-8999 MMR
Platinum 2: 9000-9999 MMR
Sapphire 1: 10000-10999 MMR
Sapphire 2: 11000-11999 MMR
Ruby 1: 12000-12999 MMR
Ruby 2: 13000-13999 MMR
Diamond 1: 14000-14999 MMR
Diamond 2: 15000-15999 MMR
Master: 16000-16999 MMR
Grandmaster: 17000+ MMR
Depending on your rank, you will only be eligible to compete in some of the following tiers:
Tier G: Iron 1 + Iron 2 + Placement
Tier FG: Iron 2 + Bronze 1
Tier F: Bronze 1 + Bronze 2
Tier EF: Bronze 2 + Silver 1
Tier E: Silver 1 + Silver 2
Tier DE: Silver 2 + Gold 1
Tier D: Gold 1 + Gold 2
Tier CD: Gold 2 + Platinum 1
Tier C: Platinum 1 + Platinum 2
Tier BC: Platinum 2 + Sapphire 1
Tier B: Sapphire 1 + Sapphire 2
Tier AB: Sapphire 2 + Ruby 1
Tier A: Ruby 1+
Tier S: Ruby 2+
Tier X: Diamond 1+
If you're just getting started, you will be placed in either Iron or Bronze. You'll typically see the seasoned veterans in Sapphire or above.

This episode featured a lot of banger tracks! Including some rare ones like Squeaky Clean Sprint, Music Park and Neo Bowser City lol. I’m surprised some of these don’t get picked often

Because in every game,there is always a meta in competitive (in this case,not just combos but also the tracks) and the track meta doesn't really change even with the DLCs

5:55 gonna be a bit nerdy here: honestly i think the difficulty in pronounciation boils down to something called "plosives". those are all the consonants that restrict airflow in some way, giving you the ability to... well, make an exploding or popping sound(b, p... d, t... g, k). so for example "d-d-d-daisys circuit" or "b-b-b-bowsers castle" pop more and easier than "w-w-w-wii bow".
and i wont say anything about tracks starting with a vowel... just try it with "electrodrome", while not sounding as if you had an speech impediment

JP brother, I don't mean to backseat cause I ain't even gon begin to act like I can play MK8, or make RUclips videos like you do or even close to your level, but something I noticed is when you get hoed by something you start explaining how you got hoed and getting upset, understandably so, you start to tilt a lil and then while you going on about what happened you get combo'd. I feel like on the Pie Chart of what you get from in MK8 50% of it would be you getting carried away with commentary and you going off on a tangent and making a mistake. I think, and I'm not tryna tell you how to do yo job, but I feel sometimes you just gotta focus just a little less on commentating and lock in just a little bit. And I really don't think it'd hurt the content if you did, because your commentary is throughout like 90% of the video anyway, so from my pov I don't see it hurting the vid. But please brother let me know your thoughts.
Edit: I don't feel like I gave JP enough credit on his performance in terms of video quality, and racing ability these last couple videos. Bros been putting out back to back bangers and I feel like maybe I discredited him a bit by overlooking that. Not only just in the competitive series going crazy recently but also these more creative/fun MK videos lately like "Me VS the worlds best mario kart players" and the "This mario kart combo is embarrassing" have been quality content. Ay keep it up brother.
