  • This is a rather giddy love song about being so thoroughly smitten with a girl that time and space seem irrelevant. Lifehouse lead singer Jason Wade wrote it for his girlfriend, Braeden, whom he married in 2001. He proposed to her using an early version of the song he had on cassette; after the song was finally released in 2005, it became a very popular wedding song. "It was this special song to me that was laying around," Wade told Billboard. "Literally, the first version was on a cassette tape - so '80s. It was kind of my wedding song. It was so personal, so it was very interesting to me that it became this wedding anthem." This is a wonderful feeling - love!
    What day is it
    And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
    I can't keep up, and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time
    'Cause it's you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
    Nothing to lose
    And it's you and me
    And all of the people
    And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you
What are the things that I want to say
    Just aren't coming out right?
    I'm tripping on words
    You got my head spinning
I don't know where to go from here
    'Cause it's you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
    Nothing to prove
    And it's you and me
    And all of the people
    And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you
    There's something about you now
That I can't quite figure out
    Everything she does is beautiful
    Everything she does is right
    'Cause it's you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
    Nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people
    And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
    Nothing to prove
And it's you and me and all of the people
    And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you
    What day is it?
    And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
