    Lionel's words to Lana about being on the edge of a dangerous precipice and finding herself someplace very dark were not a threat, but a warning. He wasn't threatening her with something that early seasons Lionel would do to her, but rather a figurative warning about her own soul.

      She crossed that bridge when she married Lex, she’s doing the same thing to Lionel that Lex has done to her and other a million times over. I think she became jaded and took ln those luthor traits in order to survive a cut throat “family”

      @@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective , if Linel knew that SuperGirl was on Earth then he would have formed a plan for Zor-El to being the vessel of the last Phantom instead of Lex, and he would have formed a plan where the clone Jor-El and the Lara from the Blue Crystal got their powers back by Clark pouring his blood into them, and then he would have formed a plan where Zor-El being the true vessel of the Bizzaro Superman sending that Kyrptonian to the Phantom Zone by having the help of Clone of Jor-El, Lara from the Blue Kyrptonite, and SuperGirl instead of relying solely on a Blue Kyrptonite Bomb instead, and they could have formed a New Fortress of Solitude with that piece of the Blue Kyrptonite instead of having Tess Mercer’s Piece of Blue Kyrptonite.

    Lionel’s facial expression showing that he realized he’d clearly underestimated Lana earlier as just another weak-willed woman. There’s a mix of awe in it, he’s realizing how much of a Luther she really is deep down and he probably regretted that she wasn’t still a part of the family

    • @CaseyCampbell24
      @CaseyCampbell24 8 лет назад +2

      +Cassandra765 you're right she does not manipulate people and remember this just because she looks like she was married to lex doesn't mean she was really married to lex which realistically means she was never to married lex and also remember this an arranged marriage that becomes a forced marriage is illegal so when Lionel threatened her at that moment she was forced to pretend to be somebody that she never wanted to be which means you were pretending to be honest on the outside when in fact you weren't being honest

    Actually, Lana didn’t preferred her revenge for Lex over her love for Clark (watch again “Requiem” when Clark in the heat of passion was gonna kill his ex-friend but Lana immediately stopped him because she knew he would never forgive himself for killing someone). At the end of season 6 Lana knew definitely about Lex’s true nature. Also Lionel threatened her to kill Clark if she didn’t marry his son *(she didn’t know that actually Lionel wanted to protect Clark).* So Lana was afraid that after her leaving Lex, both Luthors could hurt Clark. That’s why she faked her death for her ex-husband being arrested and kidnapped Lionel.
    Later when she returned to Smallville she spied on Lex to stop his crimes (a good example in “Bulletproof” when she proved Tess that Lex used her (Tess) for his own goals). About her words in “Wrath” blaming Clark for not being able to put blood on his hands, she said that on emotions. Do you remember Clark’s own words in “Crimson” about his first meet with Lex? He said that he would never save him if he had knew who would turn him. My theory is proved in “Requiem” (see my comment above ☝️).
    Regarding this scene, Lionel who suddenly became good says Lana that she's "not trying to protect Clark. This is about retribution". She is just listening, silent and not responding as if admitting his words. He said this only to guide her the true path. I compare this scene with the one at the end of "Scion" when evil Lionel asked Tess why she did't kill him. She answered that was not who she was. Then bad version of her father said the following: "You may want to *change yourself to impress Clark Kent,* but we both know... Deep down... You'll *always be a Luthor.* Like Lana, Tess is just listening, silent and not responding as if admitting his words. Lionel-2 said that to guide her wrong path.
    So we can conclude Lana really wanted to protect Clark, not revenge The Luthors.

      Requiem was in the season after this one. That's not a good example.

    • @Flower-x6c
      @Flower-x6c 2 года назад

      @@grimlord3181 in ‘Kara’ Lana easily could have killed Lex and get away with it because ‘a dead woman can't be convicted of murder’. But when Lex allowed her to shoot, her face was screaming ‘I’m not killer. I can’t kill even such a villain like you’. Even Lex knew it, that’s why he wasn’t afraid of being shot. Then in ‘Wrath’ super Lana could have killed Lex again and get away with it (she had powers). This time Lex got scared as she had superpowers, of course he thought her head changed too. When Lex kissed Lana she could have easily electrocuted him but instead of it she just dropped the murder weapon and pushed the villain away.
      The conclusion is Lana never wanted to kill Lex, to scare him only. She had not one but TWO perfect chance to murder him and get away with it but didn’t do it. When Clark came (after Lana pushed Lex away in ‘Wrath’), she started accusing him for not being able to kill a villain. Actually Lana just wanted Clark to prove for himself he would never kill anyone. It shows the fact Lana being like Clark (that is, superwoman) didn’t murder Lex. And in ‘Nemesis’, Lana actually wasn’t gonna kill Lex, to scare him only (she knew all entries and exits from the subterranean).

    Sorry Lionel you’re the last person to be lecturing on morality. You had your own parents murdered, meddled in Clark’s life, Johnathon, Martha, Chloe, had her safe house blown to bits, etc.
    It was wrong for Lana to do the things she did but she really loved Clark and tried so hard to keep her darkness at bay. She really did make an effort to make Clark see the good. When they finally did Brainiac attacks her. Revenge is a dangerous path but it was a path Lionel forced her on and he refuses to acknowledge that. He forced her to marry Lex so Lex would be occupied with Lana and wouldn’t have time to look into Clark.
