There are very few photographs that actually show Billy the Kid, but a few do. The classic "Upham" picture is indeed of Billy and so is the Croquet picture. It shows him and several of the Regulators and Sallie Chisum and Lily Casey. Strangly I just saw a photo that probably shows the Kid, not sure, but it is a great photo of Sallie Chisum and another women. I own two photos of the Kid, both tintypes. I pull them out from time to time and look at them.
@@coreyrecko I recognized him straight away, having seen that picture of him years ago. He wasn't very old when he died was he ? So he hadn't changed much from your picture. I doubt you will find a picture of anyone looking similar ! 😁🇬🇧🇬🇧
@@patspc6688 Unfortunately the one known image of him is of such poor quality and damaged so bad it's hard to too good of an idea of what he looks like, that's why whenever these pictures turn up there's always some people who say "it looks just like him," yet none of those supposed Billy the Kid pictures look like each other. Provenance and contemporary identification is still how pictures are identified. No historian or collector will ever just accept "it looks like him."
@@coreyrecko I just looked at Wikipedia. So he was orphaned at fourteen and he had a younger brother, who would have been ten ! That would match your photos for ages quite well, and that they were dressed up and photographed. The facial recognition, is confusing though, if it's accurate. And people saying they are billy years later is mad ! 🙄🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
@@patspc6688 The photos were found in the photo album passed down through a Philadelphia family, and the younger photo has the stamp of a Philadelphia photographer on the back. Billy's family was never in Philadelphia, which closes the book on that claim.
*hhihhh*, what does it matter whut billy looked like. He was there, he was. I surely don't think he ever looked like Emilio Estevez, he probably looked like a gas-huffer underneath a park pond bridge. 🎉
Billy was very young and not very tall or heavy. He had longish wavy dark brown hair lips that he closed over his buck teeth. He was clean shaven. He had clear blue eyes. I have nice pictures of him.
