You have the same engine as my 2021 saber scooter 200cc EFI. Use red Loctite on all the exhaust bolts and screws and blue on everything everywhere else that doesn't get hot. I had to learn the hard way when I bought my scooter bolts started loosing and falling off everywhere. Replace the belt as soon as you get one of these Chinese scooters with a good Kevlar belt. Most of the time within 200 miles it felt it comes with will turn to dust. The wheel bearings don't last very long either. And never break it in with the packing all that comes in it. The packing all that is in the engine is nothing but vegetable oil. Drain it and put good oil in it before you break it in. Is my best advice to anyone buying the 200cc EFI Chinese scooters.
Nothing has come loose on my Clash 200 efi in 5000 miles, and I did not put loctite on anything. Also it has a Gates belt from the factory that is holding up fine.
I'm thinking the tank 200 would be the perfect road trip scoot. Under the seat storage, front rack storage, decent speed for the backroads and good range too. It's an adventure scooter!
Thanks for the video. I look forward to your 3000 mile review. As mrkkenny said check your valve clearance and adjusted if need be. That should take care of your stalling issue. If you don't know how, there are lots of videos on 150cc GY6 scooter valve adjustment on you tube. Apply a small drop of glue to the tong of the plastic panel that keeps popping off when you rest your foot on it. And if you ever need to remove that panel use a heat gun to melt the small drop of glue that you applied. If I were you I would remove all bolts and screws one by one, apply small amount of blue threat locker to each one and they should never come loose again. Be safe.
Looks like alot of fun and glad to see ya wearing a robust helmet.. So have you gone to the range to plink this summer ? Would really enjoy seeing some videos at the range or maybe even a gun collection 2024 vid... or best guns I've ever bought and perhaps the worst guns I've bought type of videos... IDK just some suggestions... if you're so inclined... 😊 Good video, thanks for sharing n' God bless brother
I haven’t been to the range in awhile. Last time I went awhile back, a couple idiots were shooting a shotgun at the 25 yard range. I haven’t been back since then. They aren’t the first idiots that have been there. I wish I knew someone in the country with a private range but sadly I don’t.
@@TheOutdoorExperience yes, thats the connection I was talking about. i saw the other vid first. i did have a hole that wasnt tapped enough on the exhaust shield. it wasnt able to get all the way tight and caused the other fastener to back out. that shield isnt like a catalytic converter tin shield, its like a spoon. that thing was buzzing so much i thought it was my brakes. i used a couple of washers and red loctite. that shield never has to come off. shoddy workmanship. i have had mine since christmas, its a jan 2024 model.
Hey, thanks for 2000-mile review, so far, I've got a little over 90. As for the almost stalling out you might try adjusting the valves. It says in the manual to adjust at 1000 miles. I've watched almost every video about these scooters and a lot of people say some problems can be fixed by doing this. It's worth a try. I noticed on mine; the Oil light was flickering. I think I was running it too hard, so I backed off a little until the break-in period is over. The oil light was hard also to see also, so I adjusted the dash towards me, now I can see it much better. When I first got mine, I put 1 gallon of gas in and ran it out (I took some with me) and was a little disappointed, I only got 41 mpg. Other than that, I am happy with the scooter, so much fun to ride. Again, thanks for the video.
I was wondering if I could adjust that dash towards me. I need to do that so I can see it better. Also, are you sure you have it set to MPH? I fill the tank up and get about 80 miles on a full tank which is 1.3 gallons I think.
It could be a weak electrical connection. That warning light does not does not dim or brighten up to indicate the status. It turns on or it stays off. Check the connection.
@@JohnKasingeraxplayer It only did it the one time and I did go over the wiring so maybe that's what it was. Right now, I'm in the process of changing my turn signal lights. You can barely see them when it's sunny out. Thanks for the reply.
I have a shadow star 150cc and it looks exactly like this except mine doesn't have a kill switch and it doesn't have all those buttons on the left side for Bluetooth. I love it I just picked it up a couple of days ago and it rides like a beauty. I also love how bright the light is on it at night it is so bright. Almost thought I had my high beams on the whole time
I have had a full face and a 3/4 with a full face shield and the 3/4 comes on and off easier while still cutting down on the wind at higher speeds. On the other hand I was wearing the 3/4 on my only time going down and my face did make contact. My jaw joints ached for a month and I have a scar on my chin. I only went full face from then on.
I got one on my old 150cc scooter awhile back. It’s the exact same location and same screws. This scooter is park for the season. It’s single digit degrees 😂
Definitely adjust the valves. I have a Clash 200 efi with the same engine, now with 5000 miles. Dont bother cleaning or replacing the fuel filter, there is zero chance it's clogged in 2000 miles.
I have this bike and it has been great, do you know of any retailer for replacement parts or accessories for this bike? I'm looking for the turn signals and a plastic cover on the exhaust.
I usually search Amazon or Ebay for basic things like drive belts, wiring, brake pads, tires and bulbs. There's not many sites that has other things. I think you can get a clutch kit on Amazon too. Plastic parts I couldn't tell you where to find those.
I still have the stock brake pads and tires. I don't know the brand but I plan on getting replacements on Amazon when the time comes. Just whatever fits and works.
I haven’t had this one for a winter yet. When I had my 50cc, I just left it in the shed with a quarter tank and it was fine. I would ride it on a nice warm day which we do get during winter time here. Not many but a few.
im in chicago and rode all winter this year. it wasnt too bad weather wise. got a snowmobile suit and dont ride when its icy. i have a minibike with them big fat tires and mud tread so i ride than it the open field, its thrilling enough for me. them cars are like rhinos,
Not much over 2k. I parked it when it started to get cooler out. I mostly DoorDash with it during summer and early fall so it hasn’t gotten much use. Only a few miles at a time for each order I do.
168cc should be quicker. There's 125cc scooters that produce more power. The only thing that's attractive is the luggage package that it comes with. Still, there's ways to increase the power on that 168cc....just takes money.
My experience is the same as @theoutdoorexperience. Top speed on flat road with no wind is 53, I can get 54 if I tuck a little bit. This is with all of the stock luggage installed. I'm going to mess with my roller weights a bit this winter and see if I can improve that a little.
@@JohnKasingeraxplayer I agree. I'm pretty sure that the EFI is tuned only for emissions. I'm hoping that someone will make a modded ECU at some point as the 161QMK engine gets more popular. I can't find anything yet.
@@TheOutdoorExperience Yeah, apparently they are comfortable, and they can last somewhat long, but nowhere near a yamaha or honda. But part of the reason they buy them, is because they do not have a license, registration, or insurance. On top of that, many of them fully expect for the bikes to get stolen, and a lot of the dealerships that sell them have just about no issues with skirting around the DMV. One of my friends' friends decided to buy one, but with insurance, apparently it was comfortable to ride, but he got it stolen (and replaced), 5 times in a year.

Solid tip on the exhaust nuts . I didn't have any. I put some on. Must be by design.
Thanks for watching. Also check out where the exhaust pipe meets the engine. I had missing bolts there too. I show it in my 1k mile review.

I keep it around 50 so I'm not at full throttle.
@TheOutdoorExperience what's the furthest you've ridden it one way ? I'm debating on riding mine 30 miles one way
I have a scooter camping video and I actually rode it 30 miles to the camping spot and then back the next day.

58 was the fastest but the tires were overinflated on delivery. Since I let some air out down to just above recommended, I get 50-55.

just brought one of these today 2024 comes with alarm and starter remote and seems to be a bit bigger, a bit bulkier
Your stalling issue sounds A LOT like the symptoms you get when you need a valve adjustment. I'd bet money that's what it is.
