Funny, I was just giving him a real listen for the first time this week. Always thought he was a little overhyped like Clapton without being original, and I’m happy to say I think he’s incredibly original. Absolutely haunting melodic player.

I tried to emulate the technique on my hardtail SG. I used a prebend on the note a semi-tone lower.
The results are usable but not as good as the whammy bar.

MARBIN, Doesn't Jeff Beck roll down the strat TONE control in the bridge position? to give a warmer tone
Most people do. He does as well
@@marbinmusic Jeff Becks strat had modified his wiring for the tone control to be used in the bridge pickup it seems

@@marbinmusic yes but Jeff Beck used Fender strats so he must have had his tech wire the tone pot to the bridge pickup. I know Eric Johnson and Rory Gallagher did this also
