Rebecca, you're the first Indonesian girl to EVER enter YAGP and you won the whole thing. Congratulations, and at the age of 11, that performance was breathtaking.

Delighted a kid that doesn't have much won this title in a world where the privileged seem to excel, for many reasons. Her hand and arm movements are very graceful, her performance is lovely. She has great core strength, her turn out is clean, her control is great. She has won the genetic lottery for her craft (a beautiful arch in her foot and strong and straight leg line) - money will NEVER buy you that. A deserved winner who will go on to great things! x
Being privileged genetically is not much better than being privileged financially.

Before I saw her, with all the dancers I watched, I always felt like there was something missing. The moment I saw her on the internet though, she was amazing!!!! I am not a dancer but I can tell!!! She is truly talented!!!

I watched fairy doll performed by professionals and other competitors, and rebecca seems to perform this flawlessly, like a professional. Love her graceful hand movement and facial expression
Stunning performance, her control is amazing and she executed the piece very well!!! Very clean and delicate. Kinda ashamed to say I am two years older than her and can’t dance this well, but she is an inspiration!!!

Rebecca’s family is poor and in Indonesia it’s a luxury to be able to afford dance class and I think it’s very good that people around her gives that support for her

I doubt that she is in pain, you simply can't dance well if you are. You should not be in pain if properly trained.
@@chinoisdoll no, if you look at ballet documentaries, all ballet dancers feel pain when dancing on point. Obviously if you are as trained as she is, you won’t feel as much pain since you are used to it, but it’s natural to feel pain when dancing on point since you are literally on the TIP of your toes

@@valerielin3354 really? My cousin’s ballet dancer in the royal ballet school (she’s not very good), and she feels so much pain when she’s rehearsing, and all her friends as well. Even the teachers told her that pointe shoes are supposed to hurt
@@evelyn4120 A lot of people's shoes hurt but not directly from going on pointe-it's from other things like blisters that make it hurt more. I'm classically trained from a vaganova partner school and my shoes don't hurt unless I wear them for a few hours. I guess it varies for different people.
As a multi-sport athlete in my youth, I understand the elements of mind/body control, power to weight ratio, strength, precision, and stamina to achieve athletic goals. This girl is truly a remarkable athlete.

I like Rebecca's version because hers is a lot more fluid. Some dancers are a little stiff, but Rebecca's is smooth and flowing, which makes it more natural.

Same! But I met her before. She is truly beautiful and talented! Pointe shoes are really really painful, I tried them. It doesn’t look as easy as you think. They are hard to balance and turn on. If you don’t have a arch on your feet, it wouldn’t be nice on you.
