The shot during the last chorus when the sequins were reflecting the light on the ground and when he was standing in the spotlight actually reminded me of Barbara Pravi's Voilà. This performance and song are absolutely stunning, it's only been out for a couple hours and I'm already listening to it on repeat.
I think FranceTV is trying to make Eurovision popular back in France by bringing a successful singer into the contest for once. He has a SPECTACULAR voice and a pretty big fanbase so we most likely could see a lot of French fans in Malmö. I was kind of sensing he would be chosen as he fits perfectly the vibes of the contest. France is not taking a huge risk by sending a *very* French ballad as always but hey, as a French person, I am so proud of this entry ! I agree. I was a bit afraid at first that he was simply doing a song to much like Voila, with the light and hand movement but the song stand finally on it's own merit. Don;t know if we have a chance to win, but we will not be ridiculous with this song, top 5 I think is a possibility but we'll see what the other country will offer

Noosh, I am so happy to see you back for another ESC season! But I am even more happy for France and Slimane! I have more or less followed Slimane for some years. I just love his voice and the rawness and tenderness it conveys. He is a great live artist. And the song did not let me down. This might very well end up my number one in May.

France do what they do best, a ballade about amour. But there is nothing new here. we have hard this before. However he has a strong voice and a shiny costume. So they will be top ten this year. PS the best ballade ever from France was from 2001, when they got a 4 th place in ESC with Natasha St-Pier.

The only time wasted is the time spent regretting missed opportunities. But you're probably right. It's better to miss your chance than not to have tried it. I conclude by saying that in a contest like Eurovision. There are three factors. Talent, luck and hard work. With two of these factors, one can succeed. But the ideal is to have all three ..... which is not the case with Slimane's song !!!
