At my friends house, they got a cardboard box with some really old stuff that his grandpa had. We were digging through it and we found a blackjack. We thought it was the funniest thing, until we tested it out on ourselves. That silly looking leather bat hits with the power of a thousand freight trains! You'd have to be from another planet to be crazy enough to mess with someone who had a blackjack in their hand.
Thanks for this video. I never was clear on what these weapons were. I wasn't sure if a club was essentially the same as these, but you've set me straight. Much appreciated.

Also as you said they are lethal! Not to be handled by kids. People listen to this fellow he's not joking how dangerous they are. Maybe watch the video again. Peace.
I have a blackjack that I found in my a box of things that was my grandpa's. I have a friend that keeps asking me if I will sell it to him. No, is what I keep telling him. I live in Arizona but don't know if they are illegal to carry here. Right now it hangs on the wall as a conversation piece but per your suggestion it may end up next to my seat in my car. I live in a small town that is pretty quiet and slow not a big city but you never know. We have road rage here too. It is well used but still in very great shape and the pattern and two-tone color of the leather is nice. I think it is a Bucheimer from pictures I have been looking up on the internet. Thank you for your video and the information. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Hail fellow Arizonian! Everything is legal in our great state including that blackjack. Knives, guns, blackjacks, saps, brass knuckles they are all legal here in Arizona to carry open or concealed. Just make sure if you have to use it you use reasonable force. With a blackjack never strike someone in the head with it unless you are in a situation where you would be justified in shooting them. That blackjack will crush a skull easy peasy. Happy trails sister

Pretty awesome video . black jacks seem like no joke. id love to keep one in my truck too incase someone tries to reach in . Just to have one in the car for protection really. Anyone know how to purchase one of these?
Nice vid Sir. Regarding Sam Gearhart's observations... be nice, at least the kid did a vid on this subject, I haven't seen a much better vid yet. A few thoughts.... 1. I'm told, by some "Ol Timers" that back in the day it was an insult for a true "Black Jack Artist" to hit a guy more than once to kill him or...if desired...knock him out. 2. The "Slap-Jack" was designed (I'm told) to be gentilier than a Black Jack. Psst... but if you turn it sidewaze, you can cut a guys ears or nose off!!! 3. I carried a slap-jack on duty and I still carry a black-jack now everyday. I like options in my state of Pennsylvania, I'm also a concealed carry permit holder. Check with the laws in your state! But, carrying a "Jack" gives you an option instead of just shooting someone.
I looked up but could only find light weight Blackjacks for less than $50. Where do I find some great quality, new condition, heavy duty Blackjacks??? How to buy the one which lasts forever and which is also heavy enough. Please let me know, anyone? Thanks in advance!
Boston leather makes a pretty.good quality mass market version in several designs and thicknesses, cheaper than the custom jobs, get a Texan 4-ply if you want heavy. I like the 4-ply Denver with loop handle myself

@@thearchives446 That's a state law smooth-brain, not federal, and if you'd had a concealed carry permit. It would've been legal in Florida, not to mention even without the permit you would've been let go if you'd called it a fish bat.
A blackjack or termed by some as a Sap is perhaps the best self defense weapon ever devised. They are illegal to carry in almost every state. You can carry a gun legally, but you can't carry a blackjack legally. If you swing one of these at a threat you will be put in prison. Oddly a Blackjack is considered a deadly weapon. Which if applied below the head is not fatal. Never hit anyone in the head with one. It will kill them. I carry one when on the street no matter the legality. And have only needed to use it a couple times. And hitting someone in the elbow for example puts the threat down. This tool is not legal. So beware of the consequences if you use one.
Hoodoo Man .... If you swing one of these you will magically be put in prison, you say. You also say you have used one, so you are saying you get arrested every time you have used a blackjack. Maybe you should be smarter than the cops.

It's still deadly, it works perfect and will break their knee but I've never used it. It's got a lot of wear but looks perfect. If you were getting jumped that thing won't do a thing for you. Mostly likely trying to use that will get you hurt even worse.
Practice with anything you carry, I train a few times a week and can draw and fire from concealment in about half a second, a third of a second is all it takes to deploy my knife or blackjack. I'm not particularly fast just practice my draws + draw+strikes after getting dressed in the morning, start slow, achieve smoothness, then speed will come.

Also, they're illegal in my state (PA.) :-(

Its only illegal if you give a shit about paternalist laws. If you have a real conscience, don't worry about it.
Just curious if you say it is illegal why do you carry it in your truck? Is it only illegal in certain states?
