@Hi_Nu Ver 0 Zero_Tester Can I recommend you either read the SAO Progressive Light Novels or watch the Progressive movie when it comes out? Progressive is basically SAO but actually good and detailed plot. Also character development for everyone except Klein.

Listening to this many years later makes me realize how dear this first season is to me. I often talk about animes I loved like Hunter x Hunter, The Promised Neverland or Assassination Classroom, and that's true, I highly enjoyed them. But as Sword Art Online was my first anime, it hits hard everytime I hear that opening. It's dear to my heart in a way I can't express which is why, ironically, SAO is the anime I'm never talking about.
Crossing Field was one of the first AmaLee covers I listened to, so this remix got all those nostalgia neurons firing in the best way. Incredible work, as always.

Why does anime music slap so hard, and have such deep lyrics, and yet isn't appreciated nearly enough
the more mainstream a thing is, generally more medicore it seems to be.
As a rule, I have noticed that mainstream and nonforeign music has seen a rather severe decline in quality and variety that simply hasn't been witnessed in foreign and non mainstream works, it leads to the unfortunate reality that Japanese songs translated to English and English songs written by Japanese people are significantly better than stuff written by a native speaker
It's probably selection bias. Japanese music has just as much bad as English music; the difference is that us English speakers are only seeing the best of the Japanese music versus ALL of the English music, so the Japanese music seems overall better becauss the worst we've heard is still in the top percentage over there.
