Imo, the 8 Deluxe remake did better than the 7 and Tour versions because it brought back what the original had what the others didn't have, including the 1st shortcut at the start, and the gap jump at the end is still possible which is now easier to do (on 200cc specifically). Plus it's also more difficult.
