With your geological knowledge and dowsing with the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod, in the near future Junior and Major Mining Corporations will be leasing and joint-venturing with you on major precious metal deposits. Jeff, I once found a quartz vein mostly oxidised, It could be limonite, using hcl alone, there was more than 100 grams of silver / 1 kg of that material,, there was also a precipitate (iron and gold mixed) but couldnt separate them ,,, what I am trying to say is that such soils can be very rich in gold and silver,, not sure if an xrf detects that, but if yes, then work on them instead of chasing little nuggets here and there ,, they call that kind (iron complexes) … so all minerals contained are mostly (oxide 1) ( ex. Au2O= Au2+O)
Iron in iron-complexes can not be separated with a magnet, even after roasting; every little particle of that soil is magnetic ,,,

I have 150 acres in northern Canada.
I realized I had minerals in my hills because a helicopter was surveying over them for 2 weeks.
I took a hike to a few locations to discover quartz veins going through heavy metal rich dark rock.
Looking up the rock I believe it's Paladium and Platinum ore.
I located areas where they blasted out the quartz veins 50 years ago.
I go around peeling back inch thick moss and underneath is amazing rock history.
The dark rock is banded with different mixtures of minerals and quarts and then there's actual fissure filled veins of quarts.
I have red clay on my property so there is iron rich discolouration to!
Think today I should bring out the metal detector!
Thanks for the amazing instructions and overall passion for the treasure hunting.

I have found nuggets from the south end to the north end of that placer deposit (8 miles) and the ones with quartz all matched the color of the quartz in your picture. It has a very unique soft luster. If you can find that outcropping you'll discover the Mega Mother Lode, it's there somewhere.

Love that Muddy Creek Formation ! Got big and beefy Trumpet plants all over my claim ! And yeah, right on the gold, too ! However, I haven't seen any structures like that. Just a lot of broken samples of Schist / Quartz contacts. Must be in the hills to the west ? 🤔 Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge out there, Brother. Like Button smashed real good !! 🤠⛏️⚒️👍

Fantastic video Jeff. Wish I could just fine a speck with my monster 1000. I am just about to give up on this desert mining. I moved a yard of dirt this weekend and ended up with 0.10 of a gram. I have been at this desert stuff now for three years and it is always the same results. I have my drywasher dialed in but I just can't find any gold. I have been told to dig in a good wash and follow the sings, whatever that means. And I have also been told to stay away from the washes to find gold. I am about done with the desert unless I can get some real help.

You are the only one I can think of that might be able to help, when I was a kid in the 70's I got a gold plating kit, I was told it was expensive, I never used much and recently found it, only to discover that most of the plating solution leaked and got absorbed by the cardboard box, any clue on how I might get it out?
