FINALLY: Automatically compress collection images in Webflow

Finally, you can compress images in your Webflow collections with one click. All PNGs and JPGs get converted to WEBP files.
WEBP files are much smaller without loosing image quality.
This will improve your page speed massivly!

Yeah this is very needed 😊 I also appriciated that inline images within rich text field also got compressed, and that the quality wasn't too bad

I would also love if there would be a fallback with jpgs for older browsers

I think Webflow does these compression things to save on their hosting costs and that is the reason for these kind of updates
