Cleveland Tenn - North Cohutta Waivin a Hand 👋 in Compton California .. Hope all Goes As Smoothly As Possible For Yall
This man has been a great example of how responsible trucking professionals conduct themselves. This business still works.
Hey my bro, I appreciate it. I try and be a good example 😎👊
I had Allison overhaul mine at 971K. Only problem with it was the worn cams and followers which was a known issue. The bearings and sleeves all looked good. No blowby or anything, but since the cams needed to be done, that's most of the labor for the whole overhaul as far as you have to tear it down so I opted for a fresh start and I plan on getting 1M miles on it if I last that long!
Also check the air compressor
Will U be doin a port & polished exhaust manifold & telfon coated pistons on the new rebuild
No just the norm
Stay Safe
If your radiators original replace it if it’s fairly new at least get it cleaned, you should replace the bottle since you’ve had chocolate Frosty’s in it for a couple weeks, there cheap
That's got to suck Sammy but you know with Allison you're in good hands. I thought way back when Justin did a complete rebuild that Jerry was going to have rebuilt ISX engines already rebuilt and all that was needed was to take an old engine out and pop the rebuilt in taking a matter of days.
Good luck and stay safe,
Yeah that’s what they had planned but the economy took a dump. Maybe they’ll get back to that plan when everything picks up
Prior experience here, make sure pull each one of those cylinder liners and inspect them.
Hope Allison feels better soon !!
Get to wrenching and good luck again
Please keep us updated with the process
Will do 😎
I have the same year same motor. In a Pete 389 It just went off like a hand grenade no warning whatsoever ,nothing salvageable 503,000 miles. I’ve never had a truck rebuilt under 1,000,000 miles in my 40 year career. Cummins garbage never beat on it at all 75% of my loads were under 20,000 pounds changed the oil every 15,000 with synthetic. Truck now has a big yellow motor.😊. Hope your rebuild goes smooth.
Really? Only 503,000 WoW! Did you figure out exactly what caused it?
@
Crank broke is what Peterbilt is saying
That yellow motor you put in it is illegal so not sure how that’s gonna work out
Mine same motor in a Peterbilt 389 blown head gasket and cracked head at 636,000 no dropped liner . Then happened again at 757000 miles Cummins is trash
Are they family of yours? Cool they let you in the shop and are going to show you how to do work.
Not blood family, but family 😎
Oh, and the coolant filter pho sho😉
That’s my International parked out front of the bay
It would be interesting to see if those liners are before they added the brass shim and/or anti-polishing ring. Check liner protrusion before pulling the liners to see if any are below the minimum spec limited. Once pulled, look at the block seat and liner seat to see if is any wear... usually fairly easy to tell, though staining from coolant is okay and can be confusing. If there is wear and protrusion was low, then the block seat will need cut.
Hopefully it's just the injector cup, but it's pretty common to pressurize the coolant system with a low liner.
The replacement liner as I said yesterday should be better than the original to help get you to 2M miles without another rebuild.
Other entertaining things to check include bottom side top ring flank wear, liner cross hatch, crank thrust bearings, valve lash.
Excited to see the rebuild! Congrats to be able to afford one, fun times!
Gr8 Funn Timez @ HAGGAI gettin the ISX rebuilt for another 1m Hopefully 📢📢📢📢📢📢💯🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊👍🏾😎🙌🏾🙂🤞🏾🇺🇸
Best place in the world to rebuild a Cummins..Allison is the Goat 🐐 💯🦾God bless 🙏🏾
Don't be teabaggin' anyone 'til after shower day. LMAO
That takes all the fun out lol
Wonder if he gets a discount doing half the work himself
Yeah boy ! It's rebuild time.
I remember justin went through this a couple years ago
👍😎👍
I had same issue with my x15 but mine was also dumping a lot of water in the oil. Turned out to be #5 liner leaking. Sucks because I had just done in frame 100,000 miles ago.
That's a bummer man.
Keep the vids coming Sammy! Glad you’re videoing the process. Looks like the old shop? If so that’s the same bay I was in? Good Ju Ju man! 🤞🏼
Yep! Same ahop. I was hoping for some good juju 😂
Heeey my truck is right there for the same thing and of course I told them you sent me, tell them to treat me with love$$$😂😂😂😂
Oh shit! Gonna show this to Katie. She owes me a steak dinner now lol 😂
@ 🤭😂😂
Which one’s yours??
Man major job ahead, but she will purr like a kitten after the rebuild. Great learning experience.
Hi can you tell me how much cost rebuild out the door?
Dealership, 25 to 40k depending on the inframe you go with
How many hours were on it ?
Vroom vroom
I might have to pull up on you and Allison I got to learn a few things about rebuilding myself
Did overhual my engine during tax season, it was painful
Yeah it is.
Has this been rebuilt before
No
No. I did do rods and mains 208k miles ago.
Need to put A bigger tank on while your at it
I thought you were going to put a C-18 in the ole girl😊
That would be nice 👌🙌
So they say lots of hours equate to x amount of hours, so how many hours did you have on your engine ? I bought a used truck it has 21 k hours on it, and 608k miles, they tell me it's got like a million miles with that amount of hours, not sure I buy into the equation
sounds like high idle time. You can divide / miles by hours to see the avg mph.
Hey what’s up bro how are you much love
Getterdunn son
How much is this costing you
How much one rebuild like that $30 k ?
They call that precious metals inside them boxes
Is this your second time doing the rebuild?
I saw it yesterday bro ..yea I think your head gasket or cracked head..
I know this shop is good at rebuilding the ISX but what about the N14 ?? I’m guessing so ….
I’m not sure. I’ll ask tho 😎
$30k'ish +/- for an inframe these days??
About that for a isx. N14 is about 15k on the high end. Any and all cats are north of 30
@haloreaper1000 dd15....same'ish....??
@@bigboatfun about the same
$30s depending on what all you need. I’m fortunate because I’ve already did water pump, front structure, rear structure, cam and rockers pretty recent.
Again didn't you did this like a couple years ago
X amount of miles I meant lol
