Great job Audi...it's about time illumination technology caught up with this century. I'm sure these headlights cost in the thousands of dollars, but trickle down should bring similar designs to the mainstream in the coming years. Thanks for the upload YouCar.
I love Mercedes-Benz and Audi vechiles. There may be a lot different company vechiles which I do not know. As far as I know I love these two company vechiles.
I think that you'll never have to change any bulb. This kind of headlights uses LED, and they are made to last thousands of hours. You will first change the car before changing any bulb. My bests from México.
Don't say leds never burn out- they do- look at traffic lights- u can that some need to be changed. But as headlights these are stronger and more dynamic... Good job Audi. Question is what's audi going to do with bimmers i8 laser lights? Probably not as dynamic?
That's all super clever but I think it would be distracting to the ones being flashed at? The not shining your beam at the car in front is a genius idea though
Its for warning. During the night the roads are dark and the lights are pointed on the road. The car has a special camera that sees in the dark, the it warns the driver by flashing up. I dont think that flashing light is needed when the car is in full light mode.
In Audi case i think you can do that:) You can buy those lights and mount them in almost every Audi model back from 1996 and i think they will fit perfect:)
S.T T. I seriously doubt that. The shapes do not even match. And I think Audi would not really sell those headlights separately. Also I think these require the same hardware/software in the car's electronic system as well which an A4 would obviously lack.
Zeqiang Zhao Now..or you missed my pinch of sarcasm over Audi square design,or you are just an Audi fan who gets furious against any critic concerning Audi. Bottom line is that you know NOTHING about cars my friend. Each part of each car is available the same time that car hits the markets. That hardware and software operating module also can be installed. 20 years ago xenon lights were available only for a very few cars, not you can upgrade your old Civic or BMW with xenon,bi-xenon,LED and i believe very soon with even laser beams.. I can send you hundreds of photos of transformed Audi's D2 to D3 and i seriously believe that with a little, very little body kit you can transform the D3 into D4.
S.T T. Actually, these Matrix LED lights are complex. They require a camera to see the object and an ECU to control the entire system. Retrofitting it to an A4 would be borderline impossible because of all the tech that's required for it to work. It may fit, but it won't work the same way as that on an A8.
D13H4RD2L1V3 My point was about the fit and design of the lights, not the use of their full capabilities,as i am well aware that they are connected with pretty much the whole car..,navigation,GPS,steering system,suspension..so on,which indeed fitting them and making them work as should in A4 will make em cost twice as much as the car itself. Make no mistake though, the Chinese are not sleeping and soon will be released their retrofit version:)
None of these 'adaptive' lights work well at all. In a normal car with normal headlights, you would dip as soon as you see a oncoming cars headlights. With these, they only work at short distances. They bling the oncoming driver with very bright LED light. They also can't cope with elevation and multiple cars at high speed etc. They aren't even close to being better than regular lights.
that smart LED behavior for the coming cars from other side is totally brilliant and useful
I've been waiting for an engineering leap in relation to headlamps. This is stellar.
Audi being ahead of the game in automotive lighting.

Music is around the world

Gotta love technology!
what a nice car...beautiful...
The question is, can this light stop shining at a deer eye? Or make the deer stop staring at it head light?
nice work Audi,......
THAT IS EPIC!!!
What's the name of the background music ?? Pls...
Always and always... step ahead in a game
Do you really need all that stuff?
I Wonder how much it would cost if needed for maintenance :)
If you need to ask that then you can't afford it

Wow that was Cool.
Good work audii
yeah nicely done audi!
@John Paul Reis When was Cadillac ever considered competition?? lololol
Audi is just decades in front of other companies in terms of lighting.
Yes , Every new BMW model comes with LED lights , just check out the New X5 or the 7 series . They have full led light.
The name of the song? because it isn't behind the line D:
Same model as 2014, cause my cousin got it in Italy. And we still stuck with the 2011 looking model.. only in Europe.
Check it, its called audi a8 facelift...
Or look:
www.audi.it/it/brand/it/gamma/a8.html
I think It is better than BMW's adaptive headlights.

It's been almost 10 years that your comment has been posted, and when you see the news cars (rs7 2021, a8 2018-2022) it's a pretty great evolution

So if there's a car in front of you, you won't be able to see anything directly behind it. That's great.

Audi quattro voorsprong door technische 2014 wawwaw ander auto is veel achter ko technology love Audi
Could you just buy the headlights and add them to a A4?
In Audi case i think you can do that:) You can buy those lights and mount them in almost every Audi model back from 1996 and i think they will fit perfect:)

I don't care about the LED lamp just do something new with the whole exterior!!
well, rich peoples' stuff!
Too complex. I want reliability and durability from a car, not a cable box that needs expensive maintenance every 1000km.
Nikko Read
Assuming I'm poor just because I do not approve of over-engineered vehicles?
+Nikko Read I agree
Expensive to break
yok artık !!
1:40 ....??????
MUCH BEtter than the BMW mechanical light adjustment stuff.
