On “My Car Story” we're in Rosemont IL at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals on 11-19-21.
We’re looking at a 1970 Plymouth Cuda in Black Paint. The car features a 426 CI V8 “Hemi” engine, with a 4 Speed manual transmission.
The car's Owner is Kevin Kuypers. Kevin’s had this car since 2015. Kevin shares he’s always been a Hemi Car Fan, and this one was just built to race with radio delete so you can just listen to the motor. This car looks showroom new.

1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda... Words fail me. My absolutely favourite Plymouth. That's a top predator of the roads! Thank you so much, Lou.
Hi Plymouth Die-Cast Replicas, Happy to read this one is your favorite :-) You're welcome, Lou
Any HEMI is Great. Any HEMI Cuda is Great. A black 70 HEMI Cuda, pistol grip 4 speed, radio delete. Easy decision. Thnx for sharing Lou. Keep'em coming.
Hi Felix, Happy to read you enjoy this one :-) You're welcome, Lou
I cant help myself, both cars are amazing so they both get thumbs up.
Win / Win
Had to flip a coin on these to it landed on black, two beautiful examples and a credit to the owners.
Win / Win but the coin flip goes to black this time :-)
I like this one, too. Any Cuda with a hemi & a 4-speed is a winner!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Happy to read they're both winners :-) Lou
Cool that both of these Hemicuda have the original build sheets with them.
Nice to have the documentation.
The tale of two Hemi's.... love hemi cudas ! I always think of the great team of Sox & Martin !! They probably sold more Cudas and Mopars in general than any car salesman could ! This and the plum crazy one need to race heads up ! Thanks Lou! And thanks to Kevin! I wish I was that Kevin ,and owned this cool Cuda !
Hi Kevin, Here is a Sox & Martin Barracuda for you :-) Lou ruclips.net/video/RLtBleO6Fak/видео.html
@@loucostabile a big thanks for the link to the Sox & Martin SS/ B Cuda ! I couldn't quit drooling thru the whole video. One of my favourites of all time ,too. I would take a 68 Hemi Cuda any day, also ( even the die cast model would be ok ,too. Thanks Lou!
You said it right Lou, that car is Sinister, looks down right evil in black!!! I prefer the look of the 1970 with the two headlights over the 1971, but who's kidding who here, both are stunning examples of the baddest muscle cars ever, the Hemi 'Cuda!!!
Thanks Lou and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I am thankful for your videos!!! Well done Sir!!!
Hi Hobiemarty, Happy to read you prefer the 1970 :-) Appreciate you're thankful for the videos, I appreciate that. Happy Thanksgiving, and you're welcome, Lou
What an absolutely gorgeous Plymouth Cuda! Wow!!
Hi Todd, Happy to read "What an absolutely gorgeous Plymouth Cuda! Wow!!" :-) Lou
Wow a Sleeper Catcher these Cudas’ were wicked they were stripped down to keep them light I was ask if I wanted power windows on my Porche I said nope ! This car would out run anything on the street ! I love it ! I want one ! I guess I’ll dream about this sweet ride ! Thanks Lou I love these cars !

Hi Chris, Thank you for sharing this one is "Laser straight !!" :-) High praise, Lou
That black Cuda is great it would look good in my carport.
Happy to read you like the Black Cuda in your carport :-)
The last few videos, you have been to enclosed car shows, and all we get is a good once-over, hear the engine rev, and that's it. I like it when you have the owner take us for a ride in the car. Both those Mopars are drop dead gorgeous.
Hi Michael, You're right. When at a car show no ride. Happy to read you enjoy the looks of these cars, Lou
Goodday Lou,
Like the AC/DC song " Back in Black ", this sinister Cuda wins the day I vote it number 1 by a Cuda whisker.
What a great fella Kevin is to share this magnificent Cuda.
Love the bare bones look, dog dish caps, extra chrome around the guards & the gill sill panel just sets this Cuda off in the black.
Black & Chrome is always a winner.
Your number 1 Fan in Australia
Louis Kats from Melbourne Australia ☺ 👍 ❤
Goodday Louis, Happy to read this one is the Winner for you :-) Glad you're my # 1 Fan in Australia, Lou
The car looks great in all black and I love that it is kind of a stripped or low option model. Got to love the old dog dish hubcaps on stock steel wheels
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Lou, I told everyone in the dining room to wait to eat till I saw both of the hemi Cuda videos, thank you Lou and Happy Thanksgiving, cheers. btw they are BOTH a winner to me.
Hi Eric, Win / Win on the cars :-) You're welcome. Happy Thanksgiving, Lou
Thanks for showing 2 classic Mopars THE Black one is my favorite
Hi John, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Lou
AND MY VOTE GOES TO THE............ 70 CUDA as I'm bias cuz I own a 70 Cuda 440 Shaker hood car. The 70s taillights look better in my opinion lol. The 70s parking lights hidden up in the grill are classic. When ones coming down the road at night there's no mistaken it. Great Job Lou keep up the good work
Hi Rob, Happy to read you enjoy the 1970 because you have a 1970 Cuda :-) Nice! Lou
I used to not like the dog dish hubcaps. But they are GROWLing on me 🤣 You should have saved this beauty one for Black Friday 😁
Black Friday car....good idea!
That is a nice Cuda - very impressive.
They are both winners to me.
Thanks for bringing this to us Lou. The channel is a huge inspiration and brings me a lot of joy. I’ve said it before but it is really like my own personal car show.
Hi Jeff, Happy to read you enjoy each car :-) My pleasure sharing this "personal car show" with you. You're welcome. Happy Thanksgiving, Lou
Well well!!! Two Hemis for the price of one! Both of them with the right number of pedals and iconic pistol grip shifter! Both of them threw a temper tantrum when fired up, but sounded great once they got going. Which one's my favorite, you ask? I have to go with the black 70. I had a black pickup, and currently drive a black sedan. I just like the all business and no frills way of the 70. When you're done at the drag strip, you can go home and queue up The Man In Black, "I Walk The Line" or "Ring Of Fire". 😊😊
Hi Michael, Black 70 it is :-) Lou
Hi Lou! Thank you, for the great video! I like this Cuda, too! It looks cool and elegant!
Hi Aelita, Happy to read you like this Cuda :-) You're welcome, Lou
Great looking Cuda.
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
I like the 71 Grill the 1970 rear end the 71 instrument panel with the wood grain the 1970 seats and of course I'd much prefer the plum crazy color
LO I was just thinking that.
Hi Andy, Thanks for casting your vote for the 71, Lou
purple or black, both are intimidators on the road! thanx lou!!
Happy to read you enjoy these "intimidators" :-) You're welcome Mouse
Another beautiful Mopar 😍 Thanks Lou!
Hi motorTranz, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this Mopar :-) You're welcome, Lou
Exactly as mean as the Challenger R/T. Beautiful rare find!
Happy to read you appreciate the rarity of this car :-)
Bad ass Hemi Cuda.
Happy Thanksgiving, Lou !!
Hi Glen, Happy to read you this car is a "Bad ass" :-) Happy Thanksgiving, Lou
Great job on these 2 videos, Lou! Let's see, which flavor of ice cream (LOL!). If I had my pick, I'd take the purple one. I owned a black car once, NEVER AGAIN (look great when they're CLEAN...touch a puddle and you are DONE!), but both FABULOUS cars!
Hi treesnmoguls, Happy to read you enjoy these two videos, and glad to read you pick purple :-) Lou
I like the parking light placement on the 70 better than the 71. I love the black color, not a fan of purple. I would want a radio of some kind, maybe something in the glove box or trunk. No power steering, maybe he drove it 1/4 mile at a time. I certainly would. I'll watch the 71 video now and pick a winner. Note: anyone who sees HEMI on the shaker at a stoplight is never going to fall for this as a sleeper.
Hi Greg, Thanks for sharing the details you see. Lou
I couldn't pick just one so I picked both!!
Win / Win
Thanks Lou, great cars!
You're welcome Floyd T.
Lou, Happy T-day!! Enjoy!!
Pappy Mc, Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
It's a tale of Beauty and the Beast, here! Inviolet, or basic Black!
Hmm, in all difference to Mr. Beast, I will have to go with Belle..i mean, Beauty!
Interestingly, it is the 30th Anniversary of that classic tale.
Worth watching if you have not seen it, or could use a refresh.
Thanks so very much, Mr. C! 🖤
Hi TomJ440, Thank you for sharing your choice. You're welcome, Lou
Sherwood park AB? My home town same with NHL enforcer Tony Twist! Nice!!

Enjoyed!!!
Glad you enjoyed :-)
the purple is a super cool car. but the black one is the way i would want it.
Hi Aa Bb, Happy to read the car you enjoy, Lou
I think I can speak for the entire St. Louis region, the black one wins this
Hi James, Thank you for sharing which one you like, Lou
Really? Which HEMI CUDA is my favorite??

:-)
Omg 😱 insane 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️well ,hopefully we can someday find a way to take our ,Moms,1970 plum crazy purple Challenger ,with white interior, pistol grip 4 speed ,and a shaker ....🤫🤫🤫🤫🤩🤩🤩to one of your shows ..🤫🤫we finally found the car after 20 or so years (in California ) the engine was replace a couple of years ago with a 440/6 pack ( it came with a 340.) but ,just like the gentleman said ‘ people’s jaw drop when they see this monster on the street ‘..... but that sinister looking black cud’s is wild ..🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼THANK

I would choose the 71,love the fcz inviolet
Hi Lee, Thank you for sharing your choice, Lou
Hey big bro. This one is super hot, and sinister Lou. WOW. Jeez Louise. And I am a Blue Jays fan, too. But I do think that purple fishy one fits JV Johnny and his super floppin' sneakers and stocking feet better. JV Johnny ;)
Hey JV Johnny, Happy to read you enjoy this "super hot" car :-) Glad to receive a "WOW" too, Lou
This one! Can you tell me what were the other engine options available on the 1970 model year? I know my friend had a 440 in his and it would set you back in the seat when he stomped on it!
Happy to read you like this one :-) I'm not an expert, however I'm going to say, 318, 340, 383, 426, & 440. Lou
70cuda✨✨✨✨
またまたカッコよすぎるマッスルカー‼️
たまらなくアメリカ🇺🇸に行きたい‼️
Happy to see you like this one :-)
My brother had one and it had a tag with only [hemi fender] on the second tag.
Hi riccocool, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Brothers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
chingon
Thank you CHON :-)
Those sinister dog dish caps like on the 71..
Thanks for sharing what you like.
I remember seeing a very basic 70 Hemicuda in black in Cohasset Massachusetts back around 1978... I wonder if it was this one?
Hi Kirk, Not sure if this is that one. Happy to read this car brings back nice memories, Lou
👍👍👍
Happy to receive three thumbs up :-)
I've heard the 426 street Hemi's were hard to keep tuned on the streets, and I believe 440-6 would usually beat them, through the 1/4 not top end.
Hi tigerboy60, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you enjoy. Please subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this RUclips Channel, Lou
@@loucostabile I've only seen one on the street in 1974 and it was smoking alittle and smelled like gas. I was driving a 69 Chevelle SS 396. I liked the Slant 6 225, and I drive a Dodge 360 now.
Does it pay to vote for this one? Well, at least it isn't plum crazy ;) Nice car, and I'm sure it fun to drive.
Hi Steel Assault, Personal choice vote. Happy to read you enjoy this nice car, Lou
👏👏👏 ‼️®™️
Thank you Rory :-)
71 , Definitely, If Getting 4 Speed Why Not Have Factory Teach !!!!...ie Rally Dash !!!!
Happy to read you enjoy the 1971 :-) Thank for sharing.
NO TACH ?????
Interesting, right?
What is your obsession with "step on the brakes" for a second? Love the shows, but let them warm up a little.
Hi Carroll, Nice too see the lights, kinds like a Christmas tree :-) Lou
@@loucostabile I got you. Question answered. Thanks Lou. Keep up the great content.
