Back in the day this area had a strong Caribbean vibe up to the Pimlico Racetrack. You slid thru the BLOCK actin' like a fool and those brothers would deal with you accordingly. I'm talking back in the late 70's thru the late 80s. St. Charles, Litchfield, Cordellia, Beaufort, Spaulding, etc. I remembered when the Belvedere Towers were built in 1973. Walking past the towers to cut behind the shopping center next to the towers between 1977-1980 to walk to Pimlico Jr. High. Then between 1980-1990 shopping at Cinderellas, eating at the Yellow Bowl, Pimlico Carryout, Belvedere/Park Heights Yak Joint, and hooping at CC Jackson & Denmore basketball court. Not to mention the soldiers who held down the area. No need to name drop. People old enough would also remember the Purple Heart Thrift Store and the Private Stock Social Club!!!
