''You wield your blade like a man, but your mouth like a child. And more will die now because of that...'' Damn
Pitcairn's last words were quite strong
It's like ya'll forget the Templars are deluded egomaniacs who are used to manipulating and masking their evil intentions in false morality.
They sound like Vidic in AC 1. He kinda sounds right, then he says something unbelievably evil and narcissistic and you realise - oh no, wait, this guy is evil.
Same with the AC3 Templars.
Hathym can preach all he wants about how the Templar way is "better".
Any man who would coldly murder his own son is evil at his core.
@@darkrain491read tho Forsaken novel. It's canon and it delves into Haytham's character. He was the one who saved Connor from hanging and he let Connor kill him. He wasn't a cartoon villain like you make him out to be. He was very complex, and he did care for his son
@@lordvastor98 I didn't say he was a cartoon character. I said he was evil.
Kindly shut your mouth.
Adding to what was said above: in the first part we see Haytham as just and graceful. With age he became cruel like Braddock, but he remained with his principles and easily defeated Connor in verbal duels
As for Pitcairn, Connor bluntly misunderstood what he was doing and didn't even reconsider this at the time. Achilles turned the young boy into a fanatical avenger. Haytham is by no means a good man, but he made Connor start to see
"We've got a problem. Haytham ate all the chocolate!"

2 months late but
the chocolate 🍫 is in reference of Edward Kenway (his father) promising Haytham chocolate, for him to be at his best behavior while they were watching a play 🎭 at the end of AC4 black flag 🏴☠️
Also- is the same play area that Haytham would later do his mission in London in the beginning of AC3
@@sunnysidejoni ah ok thanks bro
There is also an assassination target in the naval quests which can be easily missed.
I quite find the homestead missions a bit better than many sequences in the game since Connor shows a bit of an other side in his character.
I am the only one love Connor,
“Because no one else will”.
Ofc I love Ezio but Connor is cool too I don't know why people hate Connor
I love Connor and I love assassins creed 3, faviroute assassin and game in one. I completed this game on 100% synch in every mission and collected every feather and chest and every outfit
Who else agrees that connor should be at least the 3rd 2nd or 1st best assassin because he is fighting for freedom
Doesn't Connor's Tomahawk Sharp Point Look Like The Assassin's Creed Logo
I do assassins creed 3 had its moments but I still kinda thought it really was disappointing
I miss the days of Ubisoft making villains with depth and understandable motives. Even someone like Hickey is better than what we’ve gotten recently

"Are you threatening us?"
10/10 writing
Imagine if John responded with, “no”
2:05 Connor looks so much like his grandfather Edward especially while wearing his robes 😂
does anyone else think haytham purposefully put the other hand too on connor's neck, so that his child may live?
Connor is making him act up ^_^
I would rather Haythem had lived and Connor died! What direction would the story have taken then?
It's not just thoughts. In the official novel it was underlined Haytham had sacrificed himself
Actually i don't think so. Considering Connor is physically stronger than Haytham. I mean dude is built like a tank. And in order to choke someone to death you do need both hands on the neck. And that's why Haytham put it on Connor's neck. To actually kill Connor. However i do believe Haytham spared Connor. After Connor stabbed Haytham. Haytham still had one hand on Connor's chest and could've activated his hidden blade killing Connor but he didn't.
For me the hardest mission is that before killing Pitcairn where you have to get on two ships and don't get detected (If you want 100 sync)
Achilles:You killed our brothers and sisters in Havana.
Connor:what?
Achilles:OH hey nothing
Achilles: Oops! Your grandfather Edward did before he redeemed himself by joining the Assassins. Oh do you know the Templars killed him and indoctrinate his son (your dad) to be a Templar.

8:52 epic death speech by Hickey
"I can have what I seek, had it even. You -- your hands will always be empty".
He just wants a beer in one hand and a titty in the other. Fair play
It might be epic, but he was wrong. Connor built his little state of free and equal people who saw him as his leader, whereas Hickey jumped from short-term pleasures into the grave
I support templars in this game, but Hickey disgusts me
@@ИванЛадугин I think Hickey is saying at the end of the day he is focused on something tangible. In his spiel, he dismisses everyone for their high-mindedness including Haytham himself. For Hickey, it’s all fairy dust, ephemeral and fleeting. Peace, Freedom, etc. And he’s right, the war never ends. One victory is supplanted by another defeat, and round the merry go around they go once more.
To state confidently that the war never ends, one must be quite educated. Hickey doesn't strike as such. Rulers are not immortal, but they do rule, they build and destroy. Hitler ruled for 12 years and broke the record of damage to the world. If Hickey didn't want to understand the templars' policy, he should at least have considered the option of being manipulated and betrayed in the end as, for example, "indecent". But it doesn't seem he really thought about this. He only chased the present moment with no guarantee to preserve his own future
Best AC in my opinion in reflection of the real world say for scifi. Connor set his expectations too high. Pitcan "you wield your blade like a man. But your mouth like a child. "
He was to naive but by the end he learned his fallibility to little to late. Charles Lee speech "why do fight?" And his answer is some the best banter in the series in my opinion. Forgot Hickey his words rung true . The Templars in AC3 are the best in series. They're not black and white evil they're grey & human. That reminds me of AC 1.
AC4 is much better

Man AC3 has a great storyline and did change the combat system/others after the Ezio saga which was cool but ac3 with US history is perfect and well told for a bitter ending. Not knowing what happened to Connor after everything drived me crazy a little till black flag came up with something with no real answers but more questions.
He married and had kids (canon btw). And he seems to have a good relationship with hem. Unfortunately, the Templar made it look like he died alone.
@@charliefarmer4365 oh cool and that sounds like the Templars.
@@greendude7650 Also his daughter got the Eagle vision and the ability to communicate with birds, so when Connor found out about that, he trained her to be an Assassin and the story goes on until Desmond's time.
25:54 most badass line in the entire series
shoots him in the balls ;]
“No one else will” is not badass. There are loads of better lines than this.
Archington “Yet you fight, you resist, why?”, “because no one else will”. Connor at this point is injured yet with that line he’s pretty much saying he doesn’t give a fuck how many times he fails, he will kill them all and do what he thinks is right. That’s badass. I’ve played all of them games scratch odyssey, not sure what can top that. A close second is again Connor when he said to Hickey, “I will not die today, the same can not be said for you”, ON THE TO HIS FUCKING EXECUTION HES MAKING THREATS. Connor gives no fucks lmao
Much more badass line is when Blackbeard shouts in his final fight in ac 4 come at me while getting shot and stabbed like a hundred times
@@eggboi8475 speaking of Blackbeard his Charlestown speech and "Diving for medicines speech" were badass too
Man I gotta say, way too many people are writing Connor off just cuz the Templars happen to be smooth talkers. Like yeah, let's just completely ignore the fact that William Johnson was gonna kill a bunch of Natives even though he talked about saving them just cuz they didn't wanna sell their land, Pitcairn had already started the war by the time Connor got there even though he spoke of parlaying and making peace, and Haytham literally saw everyone else as sheep that needed to be herded.
Behind his sweet, comforting words he hid the desire to literally strip humanity of any and all individuality and agency. Under Haytham you'd literally be living in modern day China, North Korea, or Russia. People are quick to notice Connor's overly naive view of the world but refuse to acknowledge that even though the Templars spoke with velvet tongues and had ideas that sounded great on paper they also spoke in many contradictions and thought they were infallible which is a huge no-no when it comes to people who are governing.
I didn't realize it until AC3 but man a lot of people would really just willingly turn America into Russia 2.0 if someone made the deal sound sweet enough. Connor was naive in thinking the world is black and white but he was also wise beyond his years for not eating up the Templars' buttery words without questioning them one bit like so many people who played the game have.
I know right. When you think about it, Connor was screwed the British Crown, the Continental Army, and the Colonial Rite while fighting for a nation that did nothing but stomp on him. Yet, people are quick to label him as the worst AC protagonist simply because he doesn't speak like a philosopher.
Lol they think templars have the upper hand on a debate just because they have the last word in Ac 3
Someone needs to read this comment and make a video on it,
Can I take a pic of ur comment and post it on my tumblr?
No, I believe people have acknowledged both sides but have to flesh out where they agree with the Templars because the game is already from the Assassin's point of view
God I LOVE the language Connor speaks in (I believe it's Mohawk?). Sounds so unique compared to any other language I've heard, wish I could've learned it in high school

@@M.K.Dutch25 And also I was wrong he didn't have a choice I read the book a few weeks ago I was wrong.
If you think about it a little the Templars know that the 16th and 17th centuries were their “dark times” knowing that their order was blinded by their true ways which ways creating order and solidifying control. The Templars in Ezio’s time were the fantasy “villains” that were more familiar with, the Templars that we can easily define because they merely focused on controlling people through the pieces of Eden. When we reach the early 18th and early 19th century there’s a general shift in the Templar order that focuses on the more “practical pursuits” Haytham mentions with the Colonial Rite. If anything the best Templars were the ones of the Colonial Rite for they truly carried their message which was peace through order. Haytham was probably the only smart Templar to notice that controlling people through the pieces of eden was a fruitless endeavor, that control through money and power were more convincing and secretive than wielding a power they know nothing about. Connor was merely fanaticized by his childhood and the creed, he believed that all Templars were evil like those in the 16th and 17th centuries. What’s more is that even if we take a look at the Templars in France during unity they’re much more tempered and almost found a middle ground with the assassins. Truth be told though, as William Miles once said, “We want freedom, they detest it” in the end the Templars will always seek control through force and the assassins only wish for humanity to choose their own destiny.
One could argue that the Colonial Templars were merely doing exactly what Ezio did to the Borgia Templars. He beat the Templars financially as well as through combat. He rebuilt rome through business acumen as much as he did jumping from rooftops and stabbing them. Nicolo Machiavelli makes politcal ties for the Assassins too. Isn't that basically what Hathym does?
I think it's fair to say that the Templars in Assassins Creed 3 were actually the good guys until Connor showed up. They were basically the Templar equivalent of the renaissance Assassins, and Connor pulls it all to shreds for revenge and because a jaded, cynical old man told him to do so, but in doing so, reveals their hypocrisy and evil just beneath the surface.
Shay was right about the Colonial Assassins. They were the bad guys. The Templars were right to destroy them by that point.
I think we're supposed to realise Connor isn't necessarily the good guy in this game, much like how Altair isn't neccesarily the good guy in AC1.
The Kenway Saga was a very interesting series. It was certainly more of a tragedy compared to Altair or Ezio's stories. It's a saga about how the conflict between the Assassins and Templars turns families against one another.
Still, I think Hathym solidifies himself as a true villain in his death cutscene. No good man would utter the words "I should have killed you long ago" to his own son.
Much like you said about the Templar order and changing times, it became more complex and sophisticated
Rodrigo Borgia played checkers, use his family’s influence, place people in positions of power, and utilize the pieces of Eden to pacify humanity and subjugate the world
Haytham played chess, work with those around you, curry favor, assist them in any problems they have and earn their trust. At that point, they wouldn’t feel unsafe and would willingly accept their management.
Assassins Creed Rogue was proof that Assassins can make mistakes too and cause serious harm
The back and forth between the two factions isn’t white and black, though sometimes it is easy to identify who’s evil and who isn’t a lot change in the 1700s and so on
How we rationalize and justify chaotic liberty or controlled peace depends on the person
Anyone else think willian johnson death is sad?
naw Connors brainwashed friend
Yeah seeing how he speaks truth but yet Connor is so naive
Not realy
He is stupid, i know he's trying to defend the land with his ideology but taking away the natives freedom and colonizing their land, those Templar Brits should have negotiate an agreements that do not harm and colonizing the natives
@@vasily3127 Same can be said for the Americans, Land of the FREE? Where was that when the native Americans were driven out from their own land? Connor trying to find to good in Haytham reminds me of Luke And Anakin/Vader
_Assassin's Creed III_ has similar plot points to the Star Wars Prequel and Original Trilogies. There's a video dedicated to that subject by Elder Geek.
@dead meme because they are blinded and stuck to the past, always glorifying Ezio
@Tangetstone979 In a way, yeah. But Haytham is more Vader-esque in terms of the overall plot. Shay is basically _Assassin's Creed's_ answer to Starkiller.
@@jmal I always saw him as Anakin

Question: if connor can kill haytham with the hidden blade in a dying moment...then haytham can too right?
I guess he forgot to equip his :)
Haytham didn't want to kill his only son. So he let Connor to kill him instead. Gruesome irony.
Maybe that's because connor is the one person who defeated haytham in fight for the 1st time..
So he shows respect to his son
As well despite his harsh words, there was some part of him who believed what they were doing was wrong, likely enflamed by what Birch and other Templars did to his sister from the AC: Forsaken novel. Though he'd never admit it openly.
@@ObligedUniform Especially Haytham's parents Edward and Tessa. Tessa disowned him, while Edward is likely upset at what his son Haytham would become and probably drink himself to death if he survived the ambush the Templars did at that night.

Because they are smarter than Connor and actually try to do good
Some times the Assassins aren’t always right.
@Starscream91 Ultimate freedom leads to nothing good.
I think you guys don't get the point of Assassin and Templar conflict. It's not about who is right and who is wrong. The way I see it, both side are radical terrorist group. Moderation is the safest way.

Finally someone wore Edward's robes during Haytham boss fight.
Strange Thing to notice is every victim of Connor assassination pled that they were not wrong and they did for a better future not to take control over things but to make it better . The thoughts towards Peace is different for Templars And Assassins.
I remember when I first played this game, I always thought I was the good guy in these games then when the Templar’s we’re explaining there reasons for doing what they do. I felt a sense of doubt then, it was only until Haytem told me the truth about both the orders, now understand that maybe the assassins have been the enemy all this time and the Templar’s were only trying to better the world.
Here's the thing tho... In the first AC games we always got the usual "Assassins good and templars bad"
But in reality none of them are good or bad, they're all Grey
Total anarchy and freedom to choose like the assassins want is not a good solution
And complete control and an absolute order like the templars want is a bad idea as well
There's a line between the 2 ideas and not a lot of assassins and templars managed to understand that
well the templars in 2 and brotherhood were the bad guys they only cared about money and power
Apparently in Forsaken, Haythem acknowledges he’s in the wrong and that all the other in AC3 Templars are a group of incompetent idiots. It was just too late to turn back.
Charles lee died a painful death. Getting shot on his balls and stabbed slowly and twisting of the butcher knife through the heart.
The sound track reminds me of simpler times 😔
Honestly the templars made more sense in this game than all overs. Connor being naive was actually doing more harm to the people than good
But you see, that's what Assassin's Creed is at it's best. Ezio Auditore the Florentine Fuckboi and his Disney Villains are great escapism, but poor explorations of the human condition and morality.
The truth is, the Templars are right. They have always been right. The Assassins are niave, idealistic and do nothing to solve the problems society faces day to day. Arguably they cause more problems. They sow chaos and anarchy and can rarely provide a proper explanation as to why they doing it in the first place.
But they stop the Templars going to far. They prevent them from achieving total control, and removing the free will of man.
Because that's the role of the Assassins. To fight bravely, live tragically and die lonely - unsung and forgotten, all to ensure that humanity, even if they would always choose the Templar's world, retain the ability TO CHOOSE it.
They die without an answer to the question: Am I good person? Did I do what was right? Or am I exactly what my enemies think of me? Am I the Villain?
Because to an outsider's perspective, they are the Villains. They murder, steal and sabotage the seeming visionaries of Humanity for seemingly no reason.
We only see the Assassins as the heroes, because we see the side that the Templars hide so very well.
The Templars are a perfect representation of Evil. Because their Evil isn't so evil. It's Evil committed with good intentions, which is what most Evil committed by Humans usually is.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and that is because a man who has decided he has good intentions, will never admit he is committing evils.
Whereas the Assassins don't think in terms of good intentions or bad intentions. They see evil, and decide it must be stopped.
Assassins are moral arbiters ensuring that other evils do not go to far.
Nothing is True
Honeyed Words and Good Intentions do not a truth make
Everything is Permitted
Those who espouse such false morals and twisted ideology must be stopped, by any means.
The other two tenants of the creed
Do not harm an innocent
A rule to supercede the previous, everything is permitted bar the endangerment of the innocent.
Do not comprise the Brotherhood
The Brotherhood must always survive, to ensure the Templars never truly win.
God I love this series when it isn't a total shit show of writing. AC3 was fantastic, besides the modern day plot....
As another person pointed out, Pitcairn had already started the war, that Guy who wanted to buy the Native Land to ‘protect’ the Natives was also about to murder them, and Haytham would have had everyone living under a government like that in North Korea .

Hey Letalis, I hope you don't mind a question regarding SWTOR - going into the expansions, is it better as a Jedi Knight or Sith Warrior?

Well he is righteous. Pretty much everything the Templars do is self-serving of their end-goal, which is the henious removal man's free will.
The Tragedy of AC3 is that Connor can't beat the Templars and save his people. The Templars are the ones who would help them, but only in the short term.
Connors "allies" care more about their success than his people, but their success means preventing the Templars from achieving world domination.
Just because the Templars can make themselves sound noble, doesn't mean they are.

does connor have edward kennways cloak on??
3:54 Best summary of Connors character EVER!
I think Connor is an innocent soul in world of people with very twisted morality.
Connor's ideology is simple, and rigid. It's borne of the Native American way of life. Native Americans were free. Perhaps their way of life had it's own evils, but every man and woman among them lived free.
The men he kills are from a culture of civilisations, politics and laws. Only the influential are free, everyone else is a subject.
The Native American way of life was not without conflict and war, but who can truthfully say it has more conflict and war than the British/Colonial way of life?
Connor isn't niave. Connor is like if a Hobbit from LoTR could fight like Aragon, and was sent to kill people like Saruman. Saruman can talk a good game about how Sauron will win inevitably, but we know he's the bad guy, and he should be stopped, and if more people stopped thinking like Saruman, and more like Hobbits, the world would be a simpler, safer place.
Connor is Frodo with a little more anger in his heart, and a lot more skill in combat.
And there's a reason Gandalf likes hobbits so much.
why did xLetalis make this video?
Because no one else will!!
hehe
You missed the Templar ship captain and Biddle.
apologies
How is an assassins creed game from 2018s cutscenes worse than an assassins creed game from 2007
Everytime a Templar speakes his last words i think the assassins are wrong
Moritz they got there eloquence in 100
Haytham's order was far different than the previous and future Templars. Same with the Assassins.
@@OtaniNoAsagi can you go into more detail? Very interesting.
Kyle Philipe what I mean is Haytham ran his order far differently than how say the Borgia ran there’s or the guys from Syndicate. You noticed how the previous games make you hate the Templars but this one had some people agreeing with them. Same goes for the Assassins though you mainly see this in Rogue compared to the other games.
This was literally a fight between UK and USA.
I used to be side by side enemy templar that's I followed templar
@Starscream91 what wrong

Putnam, "Well done, I suppose..." AUDIBLY FARTS at 4:40 :D :D :D
it would’ve been cool if in the remastered version if you wear shays robes haythem recognizes them and there’s a cutscene. Yet this then would not be a remastered it would be cool
Imaging doing all kills 👀
The thumb says a lot about the remastered version 😆
Never heard of stealth option, do you?
