Why are African passports at the bottom? Barbados is a small island nation and it's passport is at position 21with 164 countries visa free including China. What makes up the power of a passport?

Insurance, that's 80% of it. The other 20% is national political affiliation.
In other words if you are from a country where nationals exhibit a high visa rejection rate AND the country typically doesn't take back its nationals and/or it's not safe for nationals to return.
Countries with good passports offer other countries repatriation security if the national is subject to expulsion.
Now imagine any average African country would subscribe to that and pay for all the repatriations based on entry refusals - they'd be bleeding money hard with the current rejection rates.
The alternative to that is that the cost and risk is shifted to the individual through visa facilitation, which is no fun no doubt.
Therein lies the value of a passport.

I checked the site from Tayo's video, and saw Afghanistan is at the very bottom with NO countries allowing travel without a visa. It feels so unjust that Western countries can invade or colonise African or Middle Eastern or other countries, and then later say the places they invaded are the ones that are 'dangerous' and less trustworthy, while they get to move around freely with no consequences for their crimes, but in fact rewards...

My Egyptian passport is weaker than my South African passport, and both are weaker than other kinds of more Western ones. Yet it's unfair to discriminate against Egyptians and South Africans in this way. :(
