- Steve Ramsey was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1966. He’s part of a large close family; he’s a lifelong Newcastle United fan, and he’s a compulsive gambler.
In 2018 Steve was sentenced to 27 months in prison for defrauding his employer to the tune of nearly £200,000 to fund his addiction.
Since being released, he’s got his life back on track but still maintains the best thing he ever did was to come clean in the first place and talk to people, even though that led to imprisonment.

am 22 years old suffering from gambling addiction 😢 this shit is hard than doing drugs. I'm up $800 gambling debts. it might be a small amount but no means of repaying. I keep gambling thinking one big win will clear them for me. I can attest to your statement. I'm 6 1/2 months clean from drugs and alcohol, but my gambling addiction still lingers. I'm combatting it with the 12 steps and rigorous honesty. It's really helped my mental well being, even after a slip. 1 day at a time, buddy. You're not alone.

This really great problem for all The World, which has been known since ancient times, which Dostoevsky described in an excellent way, and which in modern times has acquired huge and insane proportions due to key positions in the globalism of financial corporations, which are created only for the profit of individual tycoons (you yourself know which nation they are mainly representatives of). This audiobook of the new version of “COMPED” ends in 2015. It includes those High-Roller years from the first version, only this one tells the story of how not by his own doing Richie becomes a “Gaming Atavist,” who gets state lawmakers to put forth legislation/bills that would stop the casino operators from breeding their patrons into what he once was. It also tells how and why both political parties crushed his safeguards that he got put forth in order for them to fill their state gaming tax coffers. It's a casino gambling story unlike any others and one that needs to be told in order to enlighten those of the price you'll pay if you get in bed with casinos. It also answers the question many have pondered, which is, how did we end up with casinos in all our backyards and a casino operator becoming our 45th president.
