Brian, You remind me of my dad and the days spent with him in the garage. He would tell me how to do it and let me do it but only ever stop me if i was about to break something expensive. It was the line "try it and see what happens" that really did it. I've heard that plenty of times. Thanks for the great show guys.
Dude Brian is a hands down genius, I was getting learnt for almost an hour! Definitely need to see more and hear more of his wisdom about bikes! That frame thing blew my mind and made me feel dumb never would’ve known if it weren’t for him it feels like
Brian is always an impressive source of knowledge,he make it really interesting and easy to follow and Chase did improve so much since his first season that it's now at the level of a professional series and it so much Fun to watch.
I used to work for Britten. (The Ducati guys were all over us whenever we were at the same race meet. A Panigale frame is VERY similar to the Britten. Only took Ducati nearly 2 decades to catch up.
So I’ve never asked myself the difference between frame v. Subframe, just always understood the difference... but Brian’s explanation of “what bolts to what?” Turned on a light bulb in my head! thanks Brain :)
I was thinking when I bought my bike a Ducati would be a nice bike to own. Mmmmm I’m a man that loves to wrench on my bike and I am glad I opted for something different. Though it is a Beautiful bike I now know it takes a special person, Brian the talking manual, to work on them. God bless this build.
Dad with Kids monsters are pretty simple to work on. Granted I am an automotive technician so I can you can use my tools to work on my m796. Just takes some patience and a little common sense.
Those epic scenes truly epic! You could make a whole separate learner tutorial course series with just the footage of Brian talking you through the various tasks. Enjoyable to see. Thanks
I like how excited your getting over the hardware. Mainly because before I started working on planes I was the same way when I first saw the different styles
I love wrecked bike rebuild so much and I have to be honest I didn’t enjoy the last season too much. I cannot wait to see this bike progress and I think another Ducati will get my interest again
Chase, if you want to go Torx crazy, work on a BMW. I haven't gone real deep on mine yet however, I went ahead and got the Torx and Hex sets along with the obligatory torque wrench. Good times. Ducati, you got way too damn many tools just to get started.
Woah woah woah chase, 1:16 do some research bud dont just assume stuff. The average cost to ship a bike from Austin Texas, to Atlanta Georgia is like 350 with 270 being the lowest.
I'm using this video as a reference for some work I'm doing to my 959. I'm replacing several parts with new carbon fiber. In particular, the exhaust heat shield. I think I heard Brian say it's necessary to remove the side engine covers in order to at least rotate the tail up. At 36:30 is the side engine covers I'm talking about. I watched a different video where removing those pieces was not necessary but I think that was on a newer V2. At any rate, confirmation would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
Hey, I use to ride dirt bikes as a kid and I recently bought a street bike about a month ago. I live a little north of Atlanta and would love to learn how to work on bikes / join your team. I’ve worked on numerous vehicles but never any street bike or anything on two wheels. Thanks for taking the time to read my comment as I’ve watched your Motovlog for quite a while. Have a great day!
Just a feedback, like music and talking is not synced to the same volume. What I mean is that sometimes I lay down in bed, play this at 2AM, and all of a sudden I hear "time for some slow-mo shots" and then the music comes at higher volume than you guys talking, and I have to jump from my bed before it wakes anybody in house. Would be nice if talking volume and music volume is at the same max level, atm talking is like on 5, and music is on 8, talking in terms of volume duh :3 Also much love, you guys are making awesome yt series, much appreciated :D
Make sure you check to see if the bike shifts gears. Crashed mine a couple months ago and it would not go into gear once I got it into Neutral. You should get a clutch lever on there ASAP to verify this.
Michael Alden charcoal canister is the rectangular looking box behind the plastics that absorbs gasses from the tank and concentrates them so that the vacuum line from the air box can suck them back through the throttle bodies to get combusted. It also provides somewhere the overflow can be stored if you overfill on a very hot day and gas expands. It’s purely an emission gadget and most people remove them without any negative effects in performance. It might ever so slightly help the engine run better since you’re not recycling some gas fumes into the air/gas mixture
I lucked out on shipping. Bought a bike from European Motorsports (RIP) in Georgia. They had a guy they recommend for shipping who picked it up and brought it to Oklahoma City for $300. I had to wait a couple weeks, but it was worth it.
Thank you for sharing the budget numbers. I've got to ship my bike from Indianapolis to San Francisco, have any tips on that? I was thinking about a time when I could transport my car, too together. Please share your thoughts. Thanks 😊
Something that probably was also a benefit was the fact that you guys were able to see the bike in person while picking it up, instead of having a repeat of season 2 where you just see pictures and have to hope.
@@Acepilot235 I agree, but how much money was made off of the two RUclips videos? They have combined views of 126K. The content and watching someone else live through my pain of moving from TX to GA was still worth it.
That was CRAZY cheap for 3 flights to Houston...heck even the UHaul was a LOT less expensive than I thought it would be....that had to be a fun trip!!!
In your cost rundown, you are forgetting to account for the cost of opportunity: your time, Brian's time and Luke's time are very valuable too, and if you had paid to get the bike shipped, you would have been able to do something more valuable in that 24+ hour timeframe. I know, it's hard for entrepreneurs to account for that, but it's a cost nonetheless.
I totally hear ya but one thing we got to do was see the bike in person instead of trusting photos. This helped us avoid a Season 2 situation where we couldn't see a major piece of damage on the bike. That's the main reason I wanted Brian to come so he could help quickly assess if this was the right bike for this season.
@@chaseontwowheels Makes total sense. Plus as you said, the fact that you squeezed 2 videos out of this trip probably paid off some of the opportunity cost too.
The disassembly here looks like a nightmare. Yeesh. I guess I'm not ever buying a Ducati unless I'm willing to go to the dealer for everything. I've taken taken some of the same pieces (fairings, tail section) off my Kawi and it wasn't nearly as convoluted.
I got my bike shipped from Adelaide in South Australia to Sydney in New South Wales. It’s a 15 hour drive and it only cost me $450AUD (approx $375 USD)
I'm sitting in the emergency room waiting room a friend just crashed his bike(hes mostly fine broken ankle) so if u want an 03 triumph speed 4 for the next seasion I know ware u can get one
the OEM tripple clamp is a joke! I dropped my bike while washing it (side stand moved I was not in gear) the clip on bar end hit the ground and one of the stoppers broke !!! Ended up with a scratched bar end, bent clip on & tripple clamp replacement... 0 marks on fairings !
Hey Chase! Im so excited for this build! Can i ask for a thing that you will throw out? Could you ship the clutchcover out to me?😇 would love to have that bit from the build
Honestly shipping isn’t that much. I shipped my Audi suv from Dallas to Las Vegas for $650 that’s a 18 hr drive for comparison. I can’t imagine shipping a bike costing the same or more than a suv

I wish Brian could teach me about motorcycle mechanics. He seems like a great teacher!
He's definately very patient.

Yeah he regularly fires up bikes with no oil lol. Look elsewhere

Ok, well sh*t...I just learned a lot about Ducati...I'm never touching one ever xD
I was just searching through Panigale 959 videos, thinking of bying one. Well, that just concluded my thoughts. Keeping my Suzuki.
nothing better than the sound of an Ducati twin, even if only for 2 seconds
Really enjoyed actually seeing you guys wrench into the bike. Only took 3 episodes!
The Ducati Will bring Chase to a mil subs
Okay, so this series just moved into the realms of pure Gold. Brian is my saviour! Awesome. Thank you!
Love WBR keep it up 👍
It honestly didnt seem as bad as I would have thought for the rear subframe. Quite surprised! Cant wait to see how it turns out!

Chase really liked this video felt way more organic. This build is about to be sick!
Learning a lot about ducati, mainly it helps to have someone like Brian on hand when disassembling them. Thanks Chase.
I like how excited your getting over the hardware. Mainly because before I started working on planes I was the same way when I first saw the different styles
Love the specific information that you shared in the breakdown.👍 And that you got in close enough to show more then most would.
Brian is such an amazing teacher !!!
I love wrecked bike rebuild so much and I have to be honest I didn’t enjoy the last season too much. I cannot wait to see this bike progress and I think another Ducati will get my interest again
Working on a bike with your bare hands is as exciting, if not more, as riding it. Feels like you've touched and felt it's SOUL.
This and the R1 are my most favorite looking bikes out there! Very cool to see it in WBR😍

yea. i shipped my R1 from washington state to florida for $800
I own that very bike; I just learned a lot....Thank You both✊🏽

The "Paningley" around 9:33 cracked me up😂
That was so cringy to hear as a european :D

This might be a dumb question but at 45:38 brain says that charcoal canister is in undamaged what is that ? And what is it meant for ?

Can't wait to see the finished bike! It's gonna be fantastic!

Exactly. That was the main reason for deciding to physically go there.
41:57 that bottem part that chase is holding looks like a face and I can't unsee it 😂😂😂
The hole in clutch cover I don’t think matters because Ducati uses dry clutch I thought
BackRoadBiker only Ducati with a dry clutch still is the V4R
not the first time chase has torn down a panigale
I went through uShip it and to have a bike picked up and shipped to me from St. Louis to Birmingham was 590
I'm glad to see someone else looked into this 👍 chases shipping cost would've been 270-480 or something like that.

Yep I had my Ducati shipped from NC to Texas for 550 bucks using a uship hauler. Took 2.5 days.
52minutes! HFS guys. I love it. It's like HBO for nerds in a garage lol
I have a coolant leak behind those plastics and I cannot find a video anywhere on how to take them off properly

Damm.. So much of knowledge u guys shared.. That ducati is crazy...
Stoked to follow the build! 50 min is crazy long haha I gotta watch it in segments 😁
Next time you can rent a pickup truck from a rental company for way less
Mikey Mike or he could’ve used his own trailer and car 🤷🏽♂️
or just ask to test drive a truck and sneakily use it to move ur bike and bring the truck back ;)
Let's be honest, we dont watch this show to watch cool bikes be rebuilt and hear Chase say dumb things. We watch to learn all that we can from Brian.
Is Brian still working at mount-motors?
This bike is my animal spirit! Supported! 😍
Jeezuz freakin christ! I got my 899 panigale for $6500 with 4k miles from a buddy who was moving 😂😂
what an awesome looking piece of engineering...
Still waiting for a first ride on the chopper...
And you're gunna continue to wait till it's inspected, registered, titled and road legal. #bepatient
chaseontwowheels bring it to Illinois, we plate everything and anything 😂
How many fasteners did you guys lose during disassembly?
46:43 Brian beatboxes
So, how many other people have that keytag?

How did you get the flights so cheap.
Hello chase, much love from malaysia why dont you custom the panigale with single arm. It will look much better with single arm.
Upped my support from 5 to 10. Damn I wanna win this bad lol been supporting since the monster

it would make an awesome bobber.... look at this thing, it just looks great.
Road trips are always fun in retrospect
Chase, your buddy... brian is it? I love him! He seems like your grandfather, just full of knowledge to share 😂
Swear I saw Brian googling stuff in the bathroom about Ducati 959 before the episode.
After watching this, I almost don't want to buy one of these. The amount of labor just to get to core parts is insane.
I don’t know who you used but I got charge $600. to ship a 250 HONDA CBR from New York to Florida. That was all in!
I got my bike shipped from Adelaide in South Australia to Sydney in New South Wales. It’s a 15 hour drive and it only cost me $450AUD (approx $375 USD)
Amazing video for bike fanatics man
That sub frame removal looks like a nightmare.
I liked the two extra episodes with the uhaul =)
Are we _ever_ going to see Chase ride the bobber?
🏍
Probably has to wait for the Government paper work saying that its ok to ride on the road again
Pretty awesome you're getting a 1:1 education on a Panigale from a Ducati (Master?) Technician. Super jealous man, soak up all that you can get!
this time you should be like we are buying a vinyl wrap for the bodywork lol
You gonna ride the bobber?

i'm sure he's adding Luke and Brain's food cost. he can't write it off as a business expense if he doesn't pay

He oughta just have a 60 second intro before the intro recapping what has been bought
Gotta be SC Project CRT exhaust for the Paningli!
