Thank you for leaving James in the intro. "Where's the dish" might be the most iconic line in Sorted history.
He may not be working at Sorted anymore, but he’s still part of the family.
up there with "i'm a bit of a lad myself"
My Velouté!!!!
I agree it is a very iconic line
They've just been too lazy to make a new intro let's be honest
I don't think Janice has got over James leaving, and it sounds like she's been living pretty hard.
Right? I was like whoah I guess Janice isnt feeling so well today. Either that or she had one too many smokes.
None of us have, really
Can youtube make a "vote" button for best comment??? You win, Erik!!!
wait james left? when was this lol.
Janice is drowning her sorrow in cigar smoke
Poppy realizing what she’s done when Barry says he’s going to focus on garnishes first is the best
Mad respect for the self restraint. Mike was given a rod of potatoes and two donut balls. There is no way I could have resisted that.
We need a series where Ben recreates Pass-It-On fails as closely as possible, showing how minor improvements could save the dish.
This is a great idea.
I love this idea!
Top notch idea
Oh! This, this is good mate!
LOL literally just typed this out and posted it, saw you wrote it and deleted it GREAT IDEA.
If you can ever get James for a day, and a couple of other chefs back an all chef pass it on would be great - see how much chaos the normals really contribute!
That would like literally testing the saying: Too many chefs spoil the broth. I love it!
That would be absolutely amazing!
Yesss I would love this
Yes!! Do a Chef’s only Pass It On!
Great idea
Poppy: Chooses Barry to go first.
Also Poppy: Immediately regrets that decision.
Lol
She counted on that insane Bazzy energy...and the end result?
A dish as weird as the man who kicked it off! 😅😂🤣
I feel so proud of Jamie for saying exactly what the pro chef said coincidentally
I love how confused Barry is at the idea of a potato dessert, when the cheesecake pasta incident is really not that long ago.
Haha yeah, it's hard when you're put on the spot and you have to go first. Where do you take the dish? It's not everyday one uses potatoes for a dessert.
@@SortedFood Cake, and/or Donuts came to my mind right away.
@@SortedFood I can imagine that, it isn't a position I would want to find myself in either.
But it was his initial shocked reaction that I thought was quite comical.
Coming in first and going "I'm gonna do the finishing touches" had such big "I'm gonna make cookies but _cookies aren't the thing"_ energy
I missed that one! Which video is that?
Hearing “Where’s the dish?!” just made me so happy.
😂😂😂
Seeing all these guests has me channeling my inner Harry Potter like "How dare you stand where he stood!?" 😅
Think in sometime they’ll change the opening. Everyone will forget James. He will be like all those cousins who’d come over to help when sorted was just starting.
My mind switched the last word around cx
"Where is the **Chef**?"
@@PriyankitaPant Hopefully they don't.
Absolutely LOVE Poppy, the fact she got a turn with her own stat card, and to see the thinking process of a restaurant chef in a pass it on setting for the first time.
She needs to become a regular!
@@23inator nah, just a guest would do
@@23inator I agree
@@23inator I was thinking she needs to come on more often but not as a regular - we have the boys for that.
@@23inator God no!
Poppy fits into the Sorted energy so well--I'd love to see more of her in future videos. :)
Actually, I'd love to see more female chefs and normals in the Sorted Kitchen in general--
Add a feminine perspective to the chaos of the boys.
^^^This!
Yes!
Go no! Insta unsub if that's what happens.
@@andrewmontague9682 You won't be missed.
Yesss she was amazing
Please invite her back again. Those reactions were flawless 😂
Poppy was comedy gold.
Her laugh is magic 😂
Starting the petition now for James to be brought back for this year's Christmas videos!!
He is obviously coming back as an expert ect.
To be fair he left to be a chef in a resturant so that depends on his schedule lol.
Poppy came in with strong character that really vibed with the team. I love her sassy and bossy yet fun spirit.
I don't. I think she's silly
I love how Ben's like "have to keep going, can't even react to knocking things over."
Honestly that’s a pro right there. I would have been on the floor along with the donuts
Just wish he hadn't snapped at the camera guy.
Did that count as a snap? It sounded the same as when he's exasperated with one of the normals. @@Timeisirrelevant
I've been continually impressed with Jamie over time. He's really progressed to the point where he's pretty darned reliable when it comes to understanding what's going on with dishes and what you can do with them. Noooooot so reliable when it comes to time management and certain decisions but still!
Me too!.he has good ideas and has a good understanding of what to do, he just takes a long time to get started
Yeah, you don't really need formal chef training, a lot of experience will get you to pretty decent food. I like the "learning by doing" approach since it's so much closer to reality than getting official training. More people should cook at home again and just showing someone trained do cool stuff doesn't help but make people feel inferior. We need more Jamie's - the type of "crap, I need to turn this into something edible the kids don't spit out" kinda cooking. Sure it's not going to be fine dining, but good home fare is great for everyone else.
So much this! He's the most balanced of the "normals." He knows when to play to his strengths and when to get a bit weird.
The idea of having Poppy watch the carnage and decide when she gets to come in was FABULOUS! You absolutely should do that again -- with her, maybe Ben, maybe other occasional guests!
Poppy's laugh is giving me serious 'Helena Bonham Carter's Bellatrix Lestrange laughing as she escapes from Azkaban' vibes!
Knew I wasnt alone 😂
Bellatrix Lemange.
Thank you... Once you notice it, you can't unhear it. It is just a bit too much.
People in the comments seem to love her. I can't stand her laugh. I have to look for the remote control to take down the volume.
@@rayititoman I was fine until the forced laughs at the table, shit hurt my damn ears 😂
I love this format. It is hilarious to have someone critiquing the boys as they go, and having an expert who can jump in suddenly to save it is brilliant. Please do more of these with guest chefs!
"Is this thing still on for some reason?"
So speaks a woman who has never been exposed to the Barry stovetechnique. :D
Ah, yes the “start doing one thing and completely forget that and start something else” technique.
This is why you should start with Jamie! THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD START WITH JAMIE!
He actually thinks about what it means to go first. Start a base, and let the others get creative.
Especially since that gives Barry a chance to confuse everyone with whatever he does for maximum chaos.
I feel like Jamie has been doing really well as of late - he seems to actually remember what he's learned over time lmao
Ben doing that the best.
@@MrSpirals I agree
@@MrSpirals Yep progress he's good
I love the idea of bringing in guests for these segments, this was insanely fun 😄 perhaps some chef vs chef battles as well with poppy or other guest chefs? 😄
Yes for sure, I would like other guests… :)
Love that Poppy with the boys feels so natural. Never thought I'll like a guest as much as everyone in Sorted. She's just so lovely and her energy really brings you up.
I absolutely loved when Poppy said “I’d love to see where this is going “ and then Mike going “home hopefully “ 😹😹😹
Completely agree
"We're hiding these" takes me back to the jersey royals that James hid. Poor Ben and his mint.
Hahaha!
I’d love to see more a Poppy on the show, she fits in so well!
Loved the energy that Poppy brought! Please have her back! Perfect match for the chaos that is Sorted!
So just when I thought the sass had left with James here comes Poppy with a truckload, love it
imagine the Sass level with those two in one Sorted studio.
with the mix that James is Sassy with salty and Poppy is Sassy with sassy.
her laugh makes me happy :D
Make it so SortedFood!
I love Poppy as an addition to the team dynamic. She has awesome energy and she's confident. Hope she makes loads more appearances. 🙏
Agreed, totally on board with Poppy joining on a regular basis.
I've been iffy about having guests on. I just love the guys' chemistry so much, so it's weird seeing someone else. BUT I really loved the videos with Poppy in them. She's got a great rapport with the guys, and even though I had no clue who she was (not a dig, I've just never used TikTok), she really felt at home. If y'all were ever auditioning for a second chef, I would absolutely vote for her. Loved these videos!
THIS
Seeing Poppy’s name next to “Chef” in the top left makes me really happy to see. I know that Poppy has her own stuff going on, but getting a female chef in more consistently would be so great.
Meh I don't care what's between their legs as long as they're entertaining..... don't even need to be that skillful lol like James
I mean she is a Chef by vocation don't know why she wouldn't be called Chef. Is there a discrimination in the culinary industry where females don't get the Chef title?
@@Dule810 Oh no, I just meant it’s nice to see a female chef on the channel. Female chefs are still called chefs, no sexism there x
@@bellastubbles6146 Oh good. Yeah Poppy is great really fits in nicely in the Sorted brand of crazy.
@@andcam2683 I suppose your sub feed is 50% full of female people then.
I think Mike underrated himself. Everyone complimented how it looks and it does give a nice autumn family dinner vibe and I think the dollop of yoghurt at the end cut the saltiness of Ben's cherries because I didn't hear anyone complain about them, so...well done Mike.
Can’t think of a better combo than Mike Huttleston and underrating himself
He pretty consistently underrated himself. He does really well in a lot of things and the chefs are happy/confident for him to go first/last a lot of the time- they always seem a bit more trepidacious when it is one of the others going first or Jamie going last
@@maybevoldemort8995 that being said, I think Jamie also underrated himself. He certainly had more knowledge than a 'normal
OMG!!! Poppy has been the missing member of this channel that I didn’t know was missing! She has the best snarky comments! Please let this be an interview! Or just bring her in more often!
Totally agreed! She's a great fit
Absolutely agree, can they please keep her!
Agreed would love to see Poppy become a full member of the sorted team, she is just what the channel needs.
Poppy is my favourite guest, love her, she fits right in.

Poppy is such a breath of fresh air. Please bring her back for more Pass It On!
I loved having Poppy in this, her reactions while in the chef's seat behind the tv were really fun, like she was rooting for a team. Also when she was shouting "yes!" or "no!" to what Mike was doing
To be fair to Jamie, he did have the idea to make doughnuts/beignets, not the time management to make them happen, but he did have the idea.
Exactly, I agree!
@@asiyah7714 Jamie has grown so much in this year, it is nearly scary.
Love how Ebbers comes in, ignores what everyone else has done, and starts making whatever he’s been thinking about while waiting his turn😄💪🏻
From the same chef that made a fish pie in ten minutes. Definitely on brand

Finally got to watching this!
I have to say that I absolutely adore Poppy! I think her energy and personality fits in so well with the other lads and made it easy to enjoy the video and laugh along with the chaos!
Also very grateful when she stepped in when she did because who knows what would have happened if she didn't 😂😂
Props to Mike for actually coming in and tasting EVERYTHING
A Pass it On with a guest! Love the twist! It was almost like having a community member there on our behalf. Can’t wait for the Lives next week!
Yeh Poppy's chemistry was great. A different chef each time would also be really fun. Just inject a different energy and perspective every now and then
I've missed that music and this format so much! And Poppy is the ideal guest. Knowledgable, sassy, funny & tough but fair - great choice guys...
Poppy was ace and didn't hang about, she rolled up her sleeves and got stuck in straight away. 👏
@@SortedFood Poppy should be a regular!! She adds a great dynamic to the team. It feels like she's been friends with you guys as long as James has.
@@chrisbrooks I honestly agree, she fits the team so well!
@@SortedFood Could not agree more with what the two above has written!
Poppie's cheery cackle always makes me smile. She clearly enjoys being there and fits right in with the guys. 😀
Poppy has the most amazing laugh on the internet! Please have her on the show a view more times!
She really does!
When the ad for the live show came on, I thought it was some new epic introduction for Ben for a good whole few seconds 😅
Really enjoyed this format with the guest chef giving commentary while watching from behind the scenes and jumping in when needed. It gives just enough control to keep everything from going sideways, but still allows for plenty of the chaos we all watch this show for. I’d love to see more of this format!
It is a bit against the spirit of "Pass it on" to have someone watch the action unfold and be able to jump in at any point to save the day. This is not "Pass it on" anymore.
I love her "you change things into desserts so you go first,"
turning potato into a dessert isnt actually as hard as it could be. Theres ube mochi and other desserts like that in asia, so i assume you could take those inspirations and create something with a regular potato. theres also candied potatos, Ive had a delicious potato bar dessert, with like a cookie pastry base, a layer of sweetened potato mash and like a type of jelly on top? I dont remember clearly but it was so good.
I think the point is that it works when you use potato as an ingredient for something else, like a donut or beignet or mochi or as a form of mash. Whereas I think Barry got kind of stuck trying to come up with how to have a potato, just a potato, as dessert.
@@TheMrVengeance I agree to a point. But there is actually a traditional danish dish where that happens: You put sugar on a pan and turn on the heat and wait for it to start melting and the moment it starts to brown you put butter through it and start stirring so it doesn't burn. Then you put small potatoes that are already boiled and put them on there and keep turning them through the caramel. It will coat the potato and permeate the outer layer and make the potato really lovely. And now you have caramelized potatoes and a caramel sauce. If you add some nuts and some cherries and a little bit of youghurt or vanilla ice cream and possibly some crumbled biscuit to that plate I think that would be absolutely lovely.
Traditionally these caramelized danish potatoes are served with pickled red cabbage which also gets a little bit of sweetness as well as sourness. Would work well actually too I think.
We need more Poppy on Sorted. She’s definitely one of the lads 😂❤️
I love how Poppy really just narrated all of our thoughts when we usually watch these (with a little more expertise ofc)
Absolutely agree, but she was hilarious during judging. It was clear she'd been out for a smoke or two and was high as balls
@@werdfeefs7027 To be honest, I didn't like her laugh for some reason. Maybe I am not used to it yet.
Mike getting the recognition he deserves by Poppy for trying his best at saving the chaos
Mike is the best, he makes me life
Make Poppy a regular guest. She. Is. Fantastic. And really compliments the show well.
Poppy is a triumph. She has such presence and chemistry with the Sorted crew. Seriously fantastic.
Janice's voice makes my throat hurt in sympathy.
Loved that Poppy got her own name card, just the "patience" bar should've been slightly shorter.😁 Don't get me wrong, she was totally spot on in the moments in which she became impatient! Also, agreeing with everyone else here: feel free to bring her back to the program any time you like, lads! That was fun!
She is no James, but she is entertaining to watch and also seems fun for the guys to work with. She seems like a good fit to come back.
@@sansheyman.2618 Being the only girl, she does add a different dynamic to it which is interesting
Agree! I was dreading her participation ONLY because it's been awkward with other guests and I love the guys chemistry together. She fits right on! She's been great and would love to see more of her! Hopefully recurring guest or contributor. She's awesome!
Totally should've been going to the negative area
I think she was plenty patient! And it's really not fair to compare her to a former sorted member who you got attached to over multiple years.
I love poppy!!! She brings so much humour and gels so well with the boys. I laugh so hard. Please have her back on’
C...can we keep her on?
Secondly, "Where's the dish?" is iconic and can never leave
So, Barry just hears "dessert" and his mind goes "I'm going to make not the thing but something to go with it"
Reminds me of “I’m making cookies, but cookies aren’t the thing!”
@@kyleejenkin8609 exactly! I actually looked up that video after watching this one lol (not that I need an excuse to watch those videos over and over haha)
The "good" thing this time he realize that he screw up/passing the buck,on those pass it on dessert i get the vibe of"its you guys fault to not anticipating my incapability"this time ....he had no excuse
Poppy liking the chaos just shows that how in-tune with Sorted. Loved it
I would love to see a badge where the guys are tested on wether they can take care of the knives they use in the kitchen!
Properly taking care of and using the right knives is a skill I think every good cook should have.
Poppy is just great and really seems to work well with the vibe in the Sorted studio. So good to see her doing something that's not in TikTok time limits too! I hope she'll be in more long form video in the future. So please if she's willing do invite her back in the future!
Watching Poppy realize that Barry and Jamie had absolutely no clue what they were doing was one of the funniest thing I've seen in ages. I hope Poppy gets to stick around for a bit - she's a good addition to the boys.
I would love to see Poppy more often in these videos !
Imagine her reacting to Gadgets and these Pass It On , heck we can even have a chef battle with Poppy and Ebbers!
She fits the style of this show in it's enteriety !
“Don’t go for a close up Ed!” I’m wheezing 💀💀💀
I loved Mike saying he would hopefully go home. I've been there.
Poppy has such a jolly laugh, I love it.
Jamie's comment of edible does not mean passable is gold.....and I love how Poppy is realizing it's not that easy with the timer
Poppy is an amazing addition to the Pass It On videos, please bring her back for more!
You better do whatever you can to keep Poppy around. Best thing to happen to the show ever. MOAR POPPY!!!!!!
Whoever came up with the name cards for each of the boys did such a brilliant job, they make me laugh every time 😂
Edit: poppy got a card too and it’s perfect!
We couldn't leave her out :)
+ I reckon I could guess without having heard each's music before which jingle goes with who 😂
Can't unhear Mike's "he's the man..." once it was pointed out to me.
Only Barry gets a red line on his. He's the only one. Did you notice that? And it's on "Intelligence". Is this correct? Fair? Demeaning? A good message for young viewers?
@@naomiarram5187 Yes.
I like the idea with a guest chef on pass it on. I think this time everyone was more on edge than on normal ones. That nervousness probably wears off over time though
They should get Elizabeth Haigh!
omg i LOVE Poppy, bring her back more often!
This episode was an absolute blast and I loved Poppy being here!
Wow the cigars were rough on Janice’s throat. Poppy is a joy to see, that was hilarious. I think a pass it on where all of you are limited to the things you’d find in a college dorm or similar setting, so maybe everything needs to be done in one pot, limited utensils, etc etc. could be very fun! I’m aware something like it has been suggested before but we haven’t seen it yet, so here it is again!
