Seriously. Don't get me wrong I will tune in for the mess. At the same time, I have no respect for people who handle their business like this. What do you expect the public to do about you and Tyler Perry, you and Oprah, you and Lee Daniels, you and DL Hughley....? Mo saw what happened when she asked for the public to boycott Netfix. Chile we aren't fighting your battles. My heart aches for the son for real. The rest of them I give less than a damn.
I've found that a lot of people who grew up without much financially see 'money' and 'gifts' almost as the biggest love language. When they then try to 'love' their children by giving 'money and 'gifts' and the children don't receive those gifts with the emotions that the parents expect, the children are seen as ungrateful. Most times though, the children don't see money as equalling love. They see time spent or being made to feel good or loved by their parent as the language of love. Monique needs to call her son and leave uncle Sid out of it. Take off that cape Monique. Reconcile with your child. Understand and accept that you hurt him whilst he was growing up- even though I'm sure that this wasn't your intention. Make it righT
Monique did not grow up poor. She grew up in a very middle-class community. And she is self claimed that on club Shayshay. He’s not revealing anything she didn’t say. The only thing he’s revealing is, he’s not willing to forgive his mother.
Mrs Fumi I agree with you we make sacrifices for our kids we made them her husband needs to sit back and being mother I will never let any man talk about my son like even if your not his dad to her son much love to you God sits high and he looks low this made me cry thank you for telling it how it is

Agreed her husband shouldn't be the one speaking. But we forget Monique has been through a lot. You don't give what you don't have..she's an abused woman, it takes forever to heal. We don't know the inside story of this family. The narrative may be deeper than we see. Let's pray for them....
My problem is Monique seems to not get this has nothing to do with her daddy/husband. This is between her and her son. Her child. To sit down and be ok with a man who day I have 3 sons excluding the other is wrong. Monique didn't even correct him. She has no clue how hurtful that is to that boy. U can feel the hurt n him. U can see it. As a mom of 4 boys no man could ever make me exclude them.
This child, Shalon, was reaching out for the love of his mother. The mother he still wishes to have in his life while acknowledging the pain and shortcomings between the two of them (Shalom & his mother). The stepfather misstepped. Completely. If the stepfather had chosen to meddle, it should have only been to help bridge a bridge between Monique and her first born. Thats it. He didnt need to widen the valley between the two. I hope all three find their way in love, back to each other. God is good all the time. He will always find a way.
Yes Fumi you telling it right.. Shalon spoke from PAIN..HIS BROTHERS GOT THE LOVE AND COMMITTMENT FROM MONIQUE HE NEVER GOT AND HE WAS BORN FIRST. SYDNEY SHOWED NO LOVE AS A MAN AND FATHER FIGURE. STOP TALKING SYDNEY❤
Monique's "response" to her son is exactly why I give everything she says short shrift. Monique had very little to say, she let "Daddy" speak for her as she always has. This empty suit takes up way too much space in her identity and I have no room for him, or her.
yall tryna get rid of that daddy however means necessary I guess its true we not use to seeing black men stand beside a black women so hard like that he got to go.lmao
@@marie3503rid of him for what? He literally denied his place as a stepfather to this kid, he shunned him . This has nothing to do with him but everything to do with Monique and her son. Even though he had his own dad, he’s by default the dad because he’s with his mom, not aunt for him to assume the “uncle” title.
Monique should be humble and acknowledge his hurt. Why does Daddy takeover the conversation and is her representative. This is between Mother and Son and I believe believe that Daddy is the wedge between them
I will never understand why people feel a need to publicly air all their business on social media. The time and effort everyone put into posting these videos of the personal business, put the effort into talking to a personal and family therapist. The family structure has changed so much. It's time to reclaim our families, our communities, OUR VALUES!
she should invest the same time and energy she spend addressing grievances on healing her relationship with her son. Allowing her “daddy” to address her son on social media is disgusting and a cop out. Telling the entire world about his so called “mental health” is a low blow in my opinion🤢🤮
We should all realize that Monique is disingenuous she only serves herself, her husband and her has a manipulative spirit always complaining she is Never wrong have you noticed she never takes accountability.
@@lashondarochell7584 exactly my point! For the past 10 years, she has been asking Oprah and Tyler to apologize but she has completely ignored her own son’s pain. Her priority first, should be to mending her relationship with him

Why am i crying Auntie... I can now understand why Oprah, Lee and Tyler said leave Sidney out of it. He always wanted that spot. Stole it from her and has it dangling infront of her. Why it that everytime Auntie Mo goes to someone for help and it doesn't turned out the way she wants that person is in trouble. Sidney always condescending to these big executives and they tried to exercise grace for the sake of Mo. I didn't like Shaylon coming on social media but i dam sure said i know Monique ain't coming to respond to her son publicly. Why does Sidney has all this power why.
Yes, Monique, you still won’t take responsibility. Material things cannot take the place of love, your son knows this too. Monique has just made matters worse.
My mom told me that she could not give me what she never had. She said she was neglected so she neglected me. I tell my children I love them every day because i did not get love from both of my parents.i can relate to what he is saying
You are absolutely correct! And people can give what they didn’t have, they just don’t want to take the time and effort to make the changes. We have the internet and books, you can literally read on how to be a great parent”. People make excuses for poor behavior every day.
My mother never received love as a child from neither parent. But my mother loved me and my brother. We received love as children and adults now. So it can be done.
You have great wisdom mama Fumi, we need a thousand of you on these social media streets. Our children need their parents. It’s crazy out there. God bless you mama.

So I’ll continue to run after my children till the last breath in my lungs❤🎉
I started watching auntie Fumi I think since November of last year and I will say this is my first time seeing her being soooooo emotional! You spoke as a mom and as a daughter. I felt that❤❤❤
I cried watching Monique’s son respond. He is clearly hurt by how she was as a parent. She should blame herself for him being on drugs. Stop giving stuff and give your time. She owes him a day for every day she was absent. Love on him as if your life depended on it. Take responsibility for how you handled raising him. You owe him until……… Your neglect caused this and you must make it right. How long will it take? ……. Until…. You don’t get to love son number 2 , 3 and 4 unless son number 1 is shown love. Sid should have said he was his son too. Nothing less is acceptable.
I felt you so much on this, Auntie Fumi! When you said that Sholon was the one who knew her heartbeat, that really struck a cord! I really wish that we each would concentrate on becoming whole humans before we become parents. The devastation we can cause!!!😢
Imagine losing the hope that your mother will ever want you. I really want to give a big mommy hug to this young man. I pray for reconciliation for this family.
One situation has nothing to do with the other. Monique and her son should resolve their sides in private. And if neither wants to do that, it’s nobody’s business. Her son’s relationship does not allow Oprah and Tyler Perry to play games with her livelihood.
My sister, you could not have said it any better. A first born of a mother opens the gates of abundance for the rest of the siblings. Monique should know that her son's sadness the universe has noted and affect those three other children. This son holds the blessings of the three brothers.
What I don't like is Sydney is not his Dad he should not have an opinion. This is between Monique and her son. Sydney be supportive but stay out of their situation. Monique allows this man too much authority. A lot of what DL says about her need for this man I believe❤
I am noticing how he (her husband) is always in the picture as well. 🤔 It's not really a good look in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with always having your husband's support and him being by your side but from the looks of it her husband is her mouth piece and he is ALWAYS in the picture. Like she can't speak for herself. I think it should be a little more balanced because it makes her look like a puppet.
@@courtneypalmer53 are you married ? Or the man on the relationship? Because perhaps that’s why she is so protected from the bs single vulnerable people go through.
The way her husband centres himself in everything about Monique rubs me the wrong way. This conversation has nothing to do with him but here he is loud and wrong.
I believe Mo'nique in all she said about the industry. However, her husband had no business to respond to the matter if her 1st born since he did not see him as a son. Mo'nique needs to comme correct on this. He did not ask to be born, and so he is your responsibility til you die.

Auntie fumi got it right 💯 👍🏾 this is the same thing im going thur with my mom . Monique been on a smear campaign because she been running from her issues with her son
Agreed. I also think the reason why Monique calls everyone her babies is because she's pathologically projecting her shortcomings as a mother... like a weird psychological projection based on her own denial of her failures in the same role.
Fumi, you made me cry. That was beautiful! And POWERFUL! Great commentary! I am going to find that interview of Mo & her daddy & post this. Mo needs to hear this!! FR.
Her son said that she has tried to love him with her money and then she and her husband respond with a list of things they bought him. 🤦♀🙄 Way to miss the boat by a mile Mo’nique! Fumi, you were right on point! This is not a situation for her husband to speak on, it it not his place. Mo’nique is going about this all wrong. Her son will have to find peace in moving on, he may not ever get what he needs from his mom. She still has time to try to understand his perspective and do what’s right.
Well spoken Fumi👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I was so emotional listening to Monique’ son and got angry and disappointed seeing Sid speaking instead of Monique. That will upset more Shalon because all he wants is his mum. I’m not
It all begins with Monique saying a heartfelt I’m sorry. Then listen and allow him to vent his pain. Then begin the repair process. Her neglect is the reason he is on drugs. She needs to be humbled by her neglect. You can’t buy his love. He needs your love and time and guidance. You owe him this until he says you have made it right!!!
She gave him life itself … and was provided for … i haven’t heard him say him he didn’t eat … I heard him say he doesn’t feel worthy … until she validates him as a man …. He’s needs her to be accountable … so then what ?
I would really love for Monique to see this. Something is really wrong here 😕 the way she allowed sid to carry on n what he said is unbelievable! The nerve !
I am the mother of one and I was a single parent. My heart aches for this young man because I cannot imagine what he has had to go through as a child and now as an adult. The only people that need to speak about what has happened between mother and son is mother and son and or therapists, counselors, physcologists these are the only people who can assist with this matter. As a parent you would want the best for your children the love and nurturing is needed in a childs life. I am praying for both Monique and her son that they will come together and speak with one another. No husbands or wives should be involved in the discussion.
I think what Shalon has realized is that his mother does not love him or even like him. It seems like she just saw him as a stubbling block to her dinding success. She never formed a real bond with him. What's worst is him seeing her loving her other children while continuing to not love him. That has to be the biggest wound ever.
100% Fumi it happened to me I’m 56 years old , my mom had me young and got married w other man had 6 kids I grown up w my Auntie my life turned so good out of his 6 kids I m the only one who take care of my mom Let ❤our kids pa
That young man has so much emotional pain and all his mother and her husband focused on was how they saw themselves and what they did for him. He is crying out for her love an unconditional acceptance. I feel his pain , I have a son too and I can’t imagine how she seems ok with her response to him on social media 😢
What celebs like Monique and Brian McKnight don’t get is that all the money in the world won’t make up for what children and adult children really want, a loving parent. Money doesn’t replace love and you can push all the money you want on kids but at the end of the day do they feel loved by you? I see the hurt and scars that his mother has left in him. It disgusts me that his mother attempted to shame him by calling out his mental illness. Yeh he probably does have a lot of mental scars from having a neglectful mother. Scars like that stay with one for life. Monique and McKnight are two sides of the same coin; Monique chooses a man and fame over her previous child and McKnight did the same thing. I pray for Shalom’s healing. He and everyone deserves a loving mother, loving parents. Please don’t have children because you think you should have children, if having a man/woman is more important than children - don’t have them, don’t have children to “keep a man”, to have someone to love, don’t have children because that is your retirement plan. The only reason to have children is because you want to be a mom/dad. Ask yourself, would you be a blessing to this child vs just every child being a blessing.
This is really had for me i felt this because this just me and my mom rn we haven't spoken for a long while now and i don't even miss it, absent parent even when she was there/ with you is the most painful thing ever no matter how old we get the pain is still there.
That young man did not smear her one iota in his message, just said he's done and wished her well. Monique doesn't call him and plead for understanding. She responds by putting private texts in the public to show that they exchanged "hi" texts in 2021 and she bought things for his baby. She is manipulative and the common denominator in all these toxic relationships. Yes, she's acknowledged that she did him wrong (he mentioned that), but what is missing is the same thing she DEMANDS from others... humility and accountability. She herself is not able to do that for the most critical relationship in her life. Oprah is problematic, Monique might be worse.
I’m so proud of Shalom. Only miserable people would expect him to suffer in silence; shame on them. Mo’nique’s reputation is done and she only has herself to blame. Who would want to do business with a mother who chose her Brother-Daddy 🙄 over her own son?
Done? She’s doing just fine. Parenting doesn’t come with a guidebook. Be human, stop judging. She admitted it which is more than truth than most of you can handle. The lack of empathy is disgusting.
@@PureNapture where is Monique empathy for her son. Ok she admitted she was a bad parent. Where is the work to fix it. Why is she sitting quietly as Sidney says they have 3 son. She still has a chance to make this right. He calls her "my mother" and not by her name. Regardless of how the adult feels, he feels something else, and the parents need to sit down and talk to the child. One-on-one without the third party.
SOMEBODY took care of Shalon from the time the umbilical cord was cut --- up until the time he was able to take care of himself. I agree with what she said about letting time heal, because his perspective may change once he goes through some things as the one in charge of the parenting and caretaking. Her perspective is not the same as it was when she was raising him as it is now. I have hope for them as a family and I am giving Uncle-Daddy grace too. Co-parenting does not come with a manual and it is easy to sit-back and imagine how we would handle a situation that we are not in at the moment.
I was hoping someone had this perspective. It's easy to cast stones but unless you hav raised several children, you may not realize the errors until further into their growth and then try to correct. Sometimes it's too late, sometimes it's not. We talk about mental health a lot but don't realize that if your mental health doesn't switch back to normal quick enough after birth of a child, you could go years before realizing you kinda regret your baby or admit it to yourself. She seems to have acknowledged her error. Her son has a right to be angry and yo cut her off. She also still has a lot more healing to do. No use crying over spilt milk. She can't change what she did in the past. The fact that the other three children are doing better and are in contact with her shows she might have done right by them. Very few people get parenting completely right. I have multiple children and I wonder if one will do good due to just my mental state during my pregnancy. So many things affect us that medical world has not even studied. God help us all. I used to judge other people's parenting until mine got older.
No. I don't agree with this perspective because her son is in his 30's! Not teens, 20's. Monique is in her 50's. She had time to work on this relationship. And she clearly thinks just apologizing she did her part. SHE NEVER SHOULD HAVE PUBLICLY MENTIONED THE SITUATION WITH HER SON.

Back in the day, people held in their grievances, took it out on spouses n children, got sick n died.. others waited until they were old n most who wronged them died n then wrote books, whilst the rest went n sat on talk shows like Oprah
How indeed…😢
Make it righT
Thank you
Monique did not grow up poor.

But we forget Monique has been through a lot.

@@bvl98 well, she appears healed now because of her ''daddy'', she needs to make it right with her son, no matter how long it takes to happen.
Amen 👏
Thank you
Thank you. I think the second boy is not even for him also but he calls him his son and excluded the first.
You know what I will say, Monique's son is a very well-spoken and intelligent young man. Whoever is responsible for raising him kudos to them!
She doesn’t have much of a relationship with her own mother. Hurt people hurt other people
This child, Shalon, was reaching out for the love of his mother.

I agree
Looks a lot like y’all don’t understand a black man standing my his black woman and as a result, y’all don’t know how to act. It’s sad. Really.

You are so right Fumi.
Monique is not even taking full responsibility for her actions.
I said it last time @fumi. Monique is exhausting. You can't be beefing with everyone. She is the common factor.

I pray for healing, for the both of them. This is an example of, children never forget. 😊

It's hard to believe he's her son, so well spoken no filthy or foul language came from his mouth

One situation has nothing to do with the other. Monique and her son should resolve their sides in private. And if neither wants to do that, it’s nobody’s business. Her son’s relationship does not allow Oprah and Tyler Perry to play games with her livelihood.

She allows her husband too much authority ? 🤔
I am noticing how he (her husband) is always in the picture as well. 🤔 It's not really a good look in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with always having your husband's support and him being by your side but from the looks of it her husband is her mouth piece and he is ALWAYS in the picture. I was so emotional listening to Monique’ son and got angry and disappointed seeing Sid speaking instead of Monique. That will upset more Shalon because all he wants is his mum.

It all begins with Monique saying a heartfelt I’m sorry. Then listen and allow him to vent his pain. Then begin the repair process. Her neglect is the reason he is on drugs.
She needs to be humbled by her neglect.

Mrs. Fumi… Excellent parenting video. Thank you for always: Being Authentic , Adult conversation and, Love your Fabulously Fashion insight 🩷🌹🩷.
Words of wisdom! Gems were dropped 2day. Excellent content Fumi.

I agree with what she said about letting time heal, because his perspective may change once he goes through some things as the

Her perspective is not the same as it was when she was raising him as it is now.
I have hope for them as a family and I am giving Uncle-Daddy grace too.
Co-parenting does not come with a manual and it is easy to sit-back and imagine
how we would handle a situation that we are not in at the moment.
Well said
❤❤
Exactly
