The best review and accurate! You speak exactly my thoughts about it! I was surprised by your comment about I Could Be That Woman that you noticed the Roxette feel in it. That was exactly what I instantly thought! :) Excellent presentation and review!
Thank you so much! Yes, I Can Be That Woman is a pretty unique ABBA song in many ways, happy to hear the Roxette reference wasn't just in my head :-) Hopefully I'll get some Roxette content up in a few weeks with the 30th Anniversary release of Joyride.
A literate, articulate appreciation of Voyage, probably the best I've read/heard. Excellent photography and editing, also. How is it you don't have more subscribers?
We are totally in love with, Keep An Eye On Dan, the SOS riff at the end is to die for!!!! We purchased the "orange" colored vinyl. We have the cd and the cd box set.
OUTSTANDING synopsis and review in depth of each song. For me, it also makes me go beyond "just the song itself" and makes me appreciate more even some of the songs I thought I didn't care for. Thanks for sharing! ABBA4EVER :)
Enjoyed both your ABBA Voyage videos!!! Keep up the good work... At the end of both Voyage videos I thought you were playing "Back In The U.S.S.R."... 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you very much for your review. Can you comment on the quality of the vinyl; is there a lot of compression? Is it 'thick' sounding or does it 'sing free'? Thank you again.
To be fair, my setup isn't ideal for vinyl, but comparing my own experience with some comments online, it's a little muddy and somewhat noisy, not horrible in my opinion, but in between tracks you notice the noise clearly even after a quick clean. I wouldn't buy it for the sound quality, but I enjoy the overall experience, with the bigger artwork and the songs separated by the two sides. The consensus seems to be that the pressings vary from average to poor.
@@flashframesidetracked1323 Thank you. Yes, your opinion is reflective of 99% of modern vinyl pressings. They are nothing like the quality of the 60's, 70's and 80's. I have all other Abba on Epic and Polydor vinyls and they sound just great. For Voyage, I will enjoy the streaming version. Thank you again and kind regards from Australia.
No it doesnt break any new ground! Wasnt suppose to. You either like the sound of the band or you dont. I personally was blown away by how wonderful the musical arrangements were on many of the songs and how wonderful a couple of 70 plus year old women can still sound together.
No worries, after the video I cleaned the record and put it in a mofi sleeve and the whole package in a new plastic sleeve. Need to take care of these works of art :-)
Are you joking? It’s terribly compressed as is the vinyl - a DR of 8. The original vinyl albums (not the current CDs and vinyls that tend to be around 8 also) are much better, around DR 13. Sadly there is no uncompressed version of Voyage currently.
I noticed that too, but not while I was playing it, so it looks worse than it is I guess. I've heard some of the pressings are really bad though, especially some Amazon exclusives.
@@flashframesidetracked1323 I have the white vinyl version. It has the exakt same little bump as yours and the pickup wobbles a tiny bit because off center pressing , when you played the record on your player ! Pressing is quite good , worlds better then the original 70´s Abba record, but missing treble a bit. The bump doesent seem to affect the sound output in any way
@@flashframesidetracked1323 btw i've read that Universal uses 2nd rate material for the vinyl pressings while Sony uses much better stuff so Sony pressings have a better sound by far.Don't know if it's true but just read this somewherelately .

@@flashframesidetracked1323 I can’t wait for 30th anniversary Joyride 😝
Frida's vocals on bumblebee are simply stunning full of emotion it made me cry ...
Probably my favourite vocals of hers on the album...

Probably because I’m not very good at getting videos out regularly 😅, let’s see if 2023 will change that, and thank you for the kind words!
“The child custody disco musical theatre combo we didn’t know we needed” 🤣 Perfect.
One of the best unboxing/review videos I've seen here on RUclips. Keep it up!
Got my copy on blue vinyl today. Will give it a spin soon.
Such a beautiful album... I'm impressed and so happy for them!
This is a really great video! A nice unboxing followed by a semi review of the songs. You earned yourself a subscriber!
Awesome, thank you!

Great review. I like Voyage very much.
Fantastic video and analysis.
WOW, that ending made me weep. Nice job! Thank you for doing this, really. Mine will arrive in the morning.
Thank you for the kind words, glad to hear you'll be enjoying your copy soon! :-)
10 / 10
This is amazing 👏
Good review of Voyage. I love anything by ABBA.
Thank you!
I liked your review normal human and with a touch of class so glad you love the album .
Thank you for the kind words :-)

Thank you! And yes, good catch :-) I started using it as a transition in my Beatles White Album unboxing and it stuck...
Very good review. Thank you.
Great review , thank you 😊 🙏🏼
Not for nothing was this album released on Atlantic Records in America thanks for the input

Great surprise album overall. I kind of miss the signature killer harmony between the two ladies though.
There's some, but it doesn't have some of the belters we're used to, that's true.

Agreed!
It doesn't need to it has don't shut me down just a notion it doesn't need to have a full albums worth.
I also bought this album. Greetings from Germany.
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed it!
Great review!
Thanks!
Mine is orange 🍊
Otroligt vacker.
Partner has hers loves abba has all there albums couple of tees
Who still have vinyl player can buy this vinyl.
Personally I would have left the plastic covering on just as a precaution.
No worries, after the video I cleaned the record and put it in a mofi sleeve and the whole package in a new plastic sleeve. Need to take care of these works of art :-)
Thank God the cd doesn't have that awful compression of modern recordings.

unfortunately, with the fans of the group ABBA, did not act very nicely by releasing bad quality vinyl ...
It’s often the case, sadly.
Ипическая сила, 7:11 какой же кривой диск :-(
Unfortunately yes, but I think the narrow grooves affect the sound quality more.
